1. Day One
On this day we will discuss life in the 1300’s and 1400’s. We will watch a short YouTube video
to help with this discussion. After that we will talk about the environmental, social, and political
changes around this time period that helped facilitate the spread of the plague. At the end of class
I will give out a link to our class Youtube channel that contains a video summarizing the lesson
should my students need to review it.
A My class contains eighteen students. Of this number, eleven are female and seven are male.
Fifteen of my students are Caucasian, with the remaining three being African American. To my
knowledge none of the students have any disabilities and all have passed the prerequisite courses
to make it to my eleventh grade World History course.
S At the end of the class my students will be able to understand medieval life with 80%
accuracy, a number that will rise once they are able to review it on their own time later. They
will know what caused the plague and how it spread as rapidly as it did.
S For this lesson I will use YouTube as well as PowerPoint to cover my lecture.
UYouTube will be used to give my students an overview of the lesson should they realize they
missed something in discussion.
RStudents will be required to participate in class discussion and give feedback.
EAt the end of the week I will ask students if having the lesson recapped on video was helpful
in their learning process. If it is, I will start doing this with all of my lectures.
