• Quality refers to the "suitability for a specific purpose."
Buyers and .ellers ,ormally know the characteristics oF
grain that provide tme type of end products they i-
.quire (i.e., atta, maida flour, and other wheat based
items). Experienced buyers can assess the suitability of
grain for their particular needs by visual inspection.
With growing volumes of business, it is not possible for
large scale buyers to examine every lot offered for sale.
These buyers must rely on specification of grain that
describe the physical characteristics important to
them.
