- 2. $1200 return $12/kg $9/kg Client Overview Our client, a dental clinic, located in Northwest suburbs of Chicago, is the area’s top-rated dental office for extractions and implants. Previous Situation Since 2013 they have been servicing the local area and averaging around X extractions per year. During this time they weren’t collecting or recycling the dental crowns or porcelain-fused-to- metal (PFM) crowns. They were actually throwing away this dental scrap. In 2015, they received a call from Core Scientific detailing the advantages of recycling the dental scrap by collecting the material and sending it into the on- site laboratory for refining. Results On the first shipment, this dental clinic received a $1200 return for the dental scrap that they typically threw away. They donated this additional revenue to a local charity helping provide low- income families with free to low cost dental care. They continued to use us, and in a year increased their donation to this charity. They were able to make an impact on their local community simply by collecting the material they otherwise would have thrown in the trash.
