MARS
Introducing
 I chose to study Mars because
Mars might have life on it.
 Mars is one of my favorite
planets because it is one of the
planets next to Earth.
 It is also named after the Roman
God ofWar.
 Mars is the fourth planet from
the sun.
 It might be possible to live on
Mars.
Temperature and Distance
from the Sun
 Mars is 142 million miles away
from the Sun.
 The temperature there is: - 184°
F to +80°F.
Is there water on Mars?
 People say there used to be streams of water.
 Now there is only frozen water.
 Scientists think there is still normal water on Mars.
Whatisthesurface madeoutof?
 The surface on Mars is made out of
iron oxide basalt .
Atmosphere
 The atmosphere on
Mars is mostly made
out of nitrogen, oxygen
and argon.
Cool Facts
 Mars has the biggest
mountain in the
universe. It is called
Olympus Mons. It is
much bigger than
Mount Everest.
 One of Mar’s moons is
going to crash into it
soon!
Can Mars sustain life?
 If we could melt the ice
and turn the bad gases
into good gases, we
could live on Mars.
There is actually
oxygen, but just not
enough of it. Scientists
think there is water on
Mars.
Thank you for
listening
