Do You Have A Servant’s Heart?
In the world we live in today, this can be a daily struggle if we allow it to be. Our
focus should remain on two principles: 1. Do the Right Thing and 2. Be Kind. Every day
we have opportunities to help someone with challenges in their life (Gal 6:10). As a church
family, we should always be an example for others that are struggling. Sometimes it only
takes a card, a call, a prayer, a good deed or a visit (Rom. 12:10-13).
The sick and shut-in program is successful because so many of our church family
have volunteered to participate. Each week we deliver an average of 47 meals to 26
locations. All of these deliveries are made with an average of 15 volunteers or volunteer
pairs. This program has truly been a blessing for those in need but in most cases even a
bigger blessing to the volunteers (Acts 20:35). We still need volunteers going forward as
this program continues to grow (1 Thess. 4:9-10). If you would like to be a part of this
wonderful program, please sign the list in the foyer. We know you will feel joy in your
heart as part of God’s family.
The Bible has so much to say about serving our fellow Christians. Please consider
the following verses about having a servant’s heart.
John 12:26 Acts 20:19 Matthew 25:34-45 James 1:27
Titus 2:14 & 3:14 Eph. 2:10 & 4:12 1 John 3:18 1 Peter 4:10-11
In closing, here is a quote from a recipient of the program. “What I like most about
this program is when the church delivers me a meal, it reminds me that I belong to a
congregation that loves me and remembers me.”
