Delores Barnhill is the instructor for the class and looks forward to working with students this semester. Students are instructed to check the course announcements daily for important information, assignments, and tips. They should also communicate regularly with the instructor by email or text message, and check their gradebook daily to see graded assignments and comments. The instructor will be available to answer questions and ensure students' success in the course.

I look forward to working with you this semester.
Our class officially began on Tuesday, January 20,
your course opened on Monday, January 19.
This week you will receive several messages an/or
email from me. Please answer each so we can
begin communicating and I can get to know each of
you.

2. • How to begin each day!
• Read the announcement for each day.
• It contains important information for the day and tips for completing
assignments.
• Check your gradebook.
• I grade work each night so grades are updated daily.
• Read the comments that I made about your work.
• If you have a question about the work or the comment let me know
immediately.
• Begin your assignment.
• It is important that you complete all assignments for the lesson.
• If you have a question, send me a text (252-375-4298) and I will answer
immediately.
• You can also send an email or a message through the course.
Communication is the key to your success in this class.

3. How to Be Successful in the Course
 Log into the class everyday.
Even if you are ahead, check the announcements and messages each day.
 Read the announcement for the day.
 Check your messages
Respond as needed.
 Check your gradebook
Redo any assignments as needed.
If you have any questions, please send me a message or text.
 Complete your assignments for the day.
Check the ABOUT THE COURSE tab for a list of assignments and when
they should be completed.

4. What Can You Expect from Me?
The first week each of you will receive a call from me.
Follow up calls will be throughout the course.
I will grade your assignments each night and post grades.
That means your gradebook and average are up-to-date each morning.

Remember I cannot help you if I do not know you are having
a problem.

5. The PEER TUTORING CENTER to available for help for all students.
Be sure to install BLACKBOARD IM and you will have help available
to your from our Peer Tutors.
There is a PEER TUTORING CENTER button on the left of your
screen.
