Into each life there comes a friend Whose love and compassion will never end. Some days the enemy causes us woe But we have victory when unto God we go. Into each life there comes a dream Some people are kind while others are mean. Some days are filled with a bountiful supply Which flows from the river that never runs dry. Into each life there are valleys to cross But God's people will never suffer loss. Some days are filled with blessed sunshine When God's Holy Spirit has conquered our minds. You may be five decades beyond your life's prime But the boundaries of love does not know of age or time The warm glow of love in the heart never grows cold And for to fall in love one is never too old As much as the difference is between compassion and hate The difference in feelings between love and lust is just as great And though the ache of lost love sorrow does create The marvellous gift of love we should all celebrate One is never too old to love and never too young to die These are two facts of life and facts never lie And though the ageists with what I say may disagree I can only see it as it appears to me That love on it does not have a use by date And you are never too old for to find your soul mate. Love is a great gift that you better believe And if you cannot give love then love you cannot receive The one who has love is a person worth knowing I bet his or her friends in numbers keep on growing The people who have love are caring and kind For to spread love not make war they are that way inclined Of far more people with love in them the World is in need To peace and to harmony they plant the seed The singers of love in their songs do sing The great gift of love is a marvellous thing So lucky every man, woman girl and boy Who are blessed with love the fair sibling of joy A few of their type I feel privileged to know And in my mind their stature as people does grow. H A V E Y O U Have you done your one good deed for the day To help somebody gone out of your way Helped the old lady from you three doors down For to do her shopping drove her into Town? On the train home from work did you forfeit your seat To the tired looking lady who had aching feet? She looked more tired and far older than you And to give her your seat seemed the right thing to do. Have you walked the dog for the old bloke next door And brought him his groceries from the super-store? Though he cannot afford to pay you money since on a pension he live Now you can receive since you know how to give. Have you for the day done your one good deed Helped some poor person who of help were in need? On the laws of karma you are one who believe And when you can give you will surely receive. FOR EACH OF US For each of us there is a first and a last We look to the future and we yearn for the past In living we face a new challenge each day But life is what you make of it some are known to say. For each of us a beginning and an end Though your enemy today in the future may be your friend And the one that you treasure now as your best mate May yet be the one you have reason to hate. For each of us there are the good and bad days And to negative comments on us we would much prefer praise To like to be liked that is the human way And we earn the respect to us that others pay. For each of us there is a final hooray And age on us show though we cover our gray And like the food products we eat on us a use by date For time on us it never does seem to wait. Francis Duggan

DON’T JUDGE PEOPLE Don't judge people for what you'd like them to be When their physical presence is all we can see Since to your sense of values they do not comply Their right to a fair go of them don't deny. You see them as people lacking in success And you judge them by their Suburb and their postal address But those who may seem as quite successful to you To their higher selves may not even be true. 'Tis the sort of a person that you are that really does count And all other things to so little amount Your flawed heroes the wealthy people of the Town On their climb to success have pushed all others down. A spokes person for Big Brother your type are not rare And sad to say people like you everywhere So many think like you in that you are not alone Yet the one without sin never does cast the stone. COMPASSION AND KINDNESS Compassion and kindness are born in the heart And in the making of a better Human World to live in they play a huge part And those who have such rare gifts are lucky indeed And of more of their type we are badly in need A beautiful person with a beautiful mind Is the he or the she who are compassionate and kind Such people are beautiful people to know The seeds of good Karma for themselves they do sow Their gift is with others they can empathize Above the ordinary they surely does rise One can only admire them for their humanity They lead in the fight against World poverty For their future good Karma they have planted the seed And by good example they are known for to lead. AS LONG AS As long as respect to others rights you do pay And you've never harmed one in any way Why worry what some about you have to say Show them a flowering garden and they see decay. Not one of the successful as seen through their eyes But these people one might say are far from wise They judge people for their money or lack of it one might say They are shallow people in their own small way. As long as you believe in live and let live And you are willing to forget and forgive And to live as good and honest you do the best you can Then you are a successful woman or man. FRANCIS DUGGAN

Life is never hopeless however great your sorrow- If you’re looking forward to a new tomorrow. If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping- When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping. Though the heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling- If there is time for praying there is time for healing.
