• Sometimes, when we are a leisure, we do like just
scanning through the advertisements in magazines and
periodical journals. Unfortunately, many
advertisements are the same since many years.
• This presentation is aimed to give some food for
though regarding creative thinking for advertisements
we see in different magazines and periodicals. I have
made a few sample advertisements just for sample
purpose, and used imaged downloaded from internet.

You may ask your media team to acquire high quality
images from their own sources.
• I would also like to request associations and societies
related to pulp & paper industry to consider an award
for the ‘most creative advertisement of the year’, for
their journals/periodicals.

advertiser, please do forward your idea/theme
with this presentation to them.
• After all, if we all want to see good, creative
and new advertisements.
About the Author:
Born in 1968, D K Singhal is B.E., M.E. (Pulp & Paper, 1993) from Deptt. of Paper Technology,
University of Roorkee (now IIT, Roorkee). He is a Certified Energy Auditor and Chartered
Engineer also.
With nearly 7 dozen publications, he has emphasized on development of low cost technologies
and management practices for quality and profitability improvement. His publications are
available in IPPTA Journal, and on slideshare.net, energymanagertraining.com andavailable in IPPTA Journal, and on slideshare.net, energymanagertraining.com and
paperonweb.co. He is also serving IPPTA as a member of Editorial Board.
An initiative by D K Singhal, a cyber campaign initiated against unjustified targeting of paper
industry by “Idea” mobile, in their “Sirjee” advertisement campaign, after which this
advertisement was taken off air.
He is also moderating a facebook group, “PaperTechnology” with nearly 430 members from
India and abroad to discuss problems related to pulp & paper making. Earlier he moderated a
similar group on Yahoo with 360 members for five years.

  • 28. About the Author: Born in 1968, D K Singhal is B.E., M.E. (Pulp & Paper, 1993) from Deptt. of Paper Technology, University of Roorkee (now IIT, Roorkee). He is a Certified Energy Auditor and Chartered Engineer also. With nearly 7 dozen publications, he has emphasized on development of low cost technologies and management practices for quality and profitability improvement. His publications are available in IPPTA Journal, and on slideshare.net, energymanagertraining.com andavailable in IPPTA Journal, and on slideshare.net, energymanagertraining.com and paperonweb.co. He is also serving IPPTA as a member of Editorial Board. An initiative by D K Singhal, a cyber campaign initiated against unjustified targeting of paper industry by “Idea” mobile, in their “Sirjee” advertisement campaign, after which this advertisement was taken off air. He is also moderating a facebook group, “PaperTechnology” with nearly 430 members from India and abroad to discuss problems related to pulp & paper making.
