depressions in the printmaking
plate in order to create the
image. It includes
etching, mezzotint, engraving, a
quatint, drypoint, and
collagraph
3. Etching – technique where a
design is scratched through a
resist on a metal plate. The
scratched area is exposed to
acid to deepen the lines.
