Illness are health problems that affect your body´s organs. • Health professionals and services can help us to stay healthy: General practitioner: Doctor who treats the most common, everyday illness. Medical speccialist: Doctor who treats specific illness People usually go to hospital if they have medical emergency. They can also go there for tests and medical treatments.
  3. 3. Illness usually have specific symptoms, like a fever, pain or coughing A doctor make a diagnosis The proper treatment can relieve the symptoms and maybe cure the illness
  4. 4. INFECTIOUS DISEASES • Infectious diseases are illness that are caused by microorganisms NON-INFECTIOUS DISEASES • Non-infectious diseases includes illness like allergies, obesity, malnutrition, substance abuse and mental illness.
  5. 5. Bacteria can cause diseases like tuberculosis, tetanous or salmonellosis. Many viruses are harmful. They cause diseases like flu, measles, rubella and AIDS. Protozoans cause diseases like malaria, chorela, and amoebic dysentery. Fungi cause diseases of the skin and nails. Athlete´s foot is a common example.

  8. 8. • A vaccines is a substance that contains weak or dead microorganisms. These microorganisms can´t make you ill, but they help your body to resist the same diseases in the future. Our body produces special substances called antibodies.
  9. 9. Try to eat a balance diet. Try to do regular exercise. Try to get 8-10 hours of sleep every night. Follow road safety rules. Try to accept and respect yourself and express your feelings appropriately. Try to accept and respect other people.
