The greatest barrier or impediment to faculty development is TIME … time available for attending a 2 hour workshop, once a month, for one semester.  We need to rethink TIME in faculty development.

  • 21. The greatest barrier or impediment to faculty development is TIME … time available for attending a 2 hour workshop, once a month, for one semester. We need to rethink TIME in faculty development.

Concluding Thoughts Regardless of the size of the impact, impact is made EVEN if only ONE faculty member is reached … the new technologies will ENCOURAGE faculty to return … we should PROVIDE professional development for ALL faculty, at ALL times, and at ALL locations … and Web 2.0 allows us to do this
