2. Dr. Steven Abbadessa leverages over 25 years of
experience to help patients throughout St. Louis,
Missouri, through his private practice, Hemorrhoid
Care and Treatment Center. A board-certified
proctologist, Steven Abbadessa, D.O., pursues
advanced medical education opportunities through
membership in professional organizations such as
the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians
& Surgeons (MAOPS)and American Society of
Colon and Rectal Sugeons (ASCRS).

3. As the place of origin of the osteopathic medicine
specialty, Missouri has a long tradition of cultivating the
best industry practices and standards. This year, MAOPS
has been recognized by the American Osteopathic
Association (AOA) as one of the leading specialty
organizations in the nation, receiving the Strategic Team
Award Recognition (STAR) distinction in Chicago this past
July in a meeting of more than 500 delegates. One of the
major accomplishments of MAOPS included inducting
Andrew Taylor Still, M.D., D.O., founder of the first college
of osteopathy in the nation (now A.T. Still University), into
the Hall of Famous Missourians.

4. Dr. Still is the first physician to receive the
distinction and the only individual to have been
elected via popular vote, surpassing nine other
candidates.
