Welcome to this virtual classroom presentation. I will be demonstrating the virtual classroom through a product called DimDim. I chose this product because it required no installation and should be very easy for everyone to log on. It also is an open source free program in its basic format.
A quick tour of your desktop is important for participants if using the tool for the first time. To start recognize your name under the participants. If you didn’t enter a name when you signed in we can add it now. The down arrow by your name has some features to allow for some interaction. You can invite others, provide feedback on the presentation that is then emailed to the presenter, set or change your display name, set mood, which has normal, agree, disagree, be right back, busy, problem or question, restart AV if having a problem, and to leave the meeting. There is another feature if you want to talk privately with someone, you can click on their down arrow and select that function. A separate chat box will open up. Open the chat box to view chat if it is not open on the right top corner. This tool post to everyone. Before we proceed, let’s check everyone’s audio. Let’s take a quick attendance to make sure everyone can hear ok. As I call your name respond in your microphone ORif your microphone is not working click on the down arrow by your name, select mood, and give a thumbs up. Let me start with Andy, Angela, Beth, Diana, Michael. OK
To avoid noise feedback and background sounds during the presentation please turn off your hands free mike. If you want to speak you can press and hold the talk button down. There is a small time delay. Or, you can type questions in the Chat panel located on the right side of the screen. Please feel free to type questions in the chat box as we proceed. Or set your mood to question and I’ll turn the audio over to you.I will show you more features of DimDim a little later in the presentation. I am going to share my computer screen to continue my presentation.
