2. ABOUT US
Who we are
Hub’Air Aviation Academy is a leading European aviation flight school providing all levels of training from Ab Initio airline pilot training to
Type Rating such as Boeing B737 300-900 or Airbus A320 family. We also offer consultancy and management services to airlines.
The majority of our staff are experienced airline industry professionals coming from Belgium, France and Malta. These include directors of
flight operations, training managers, instructors and airline pilots. All of them work to the same goal: to use their professional experience to
develop the next generation of airline pilots to the highest possible level of professionalism and expertise.
To support our mission we invest heavily in training systems and aircraft such as the Tecnam 2002 JF, the SR20 G1000 Perspective and the
Diamond DA-40 and DA-42 G1000 training aircraft and a suite of new simulators. As a leading flight school, we have also forged strategic
links with a number of airlines. This allows us to offer invaluable training experience to Ab Initio pilots and can ease the transition to
professional employment.
If you are looking to become an airline pilot then look no further! We welcome students from all countries and all our pilot trainings are
carried out in English. Do not hesitate to contact us through the contact form in the contact section, by phone, via e-mail or register at one

7. accommodation
Malta
Malta lies in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, halfway between Europe’s mainland and North Africa. The
archipelago consists of 6 islands with a total area of 216sq km.
Malta and Gozo are the two largest islands and are densely populated with just over 400,000 inhabitants. Comino is
small and sparsely populated, while Cominotto, Filfla, and St. Paul’s Islands have no inhabitants.
The national language is Maltese, a language of Semitic origin with a romantic influence. However most of the
population speak good English. Italian, French and German are also spoken in most hotels.
Malta enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers, so it is always a good time of year to
visit Malta and it is of course an excellent location for flight training.
Hub’Air Aviation Academy can provide accommodation(*) in the major tourism spots of Sliema, Gzira or
St. Julian’s on the north-eastern coast.
(*) Accommodation in Malta is not included.
USA
Florida, also known as the “Sunshine State”, or “Land of Flowers” is one of the most popular vacation and retirement
destinations in the world.
This tourist magnet is known worldwide as the land of sunshine, orange groves, Disney World, Universal Studios
Orlando, and the Kennedy Space Center.
Florida is home to the electric city of Miami, stylish beach communities such as South Beach and West Palm, the
Florida Keys, the Everglades, and so much more to fill a lifetime of Florida vacations.
Hub’Air offers accommodation to the students.
France
Paris is synonymous with all that is French. Known throughout the world as the “City of Light,” Paris is celebrated
for its beautiful city plan, its architecture, museums, bridges, cathedrals, parks, shopping, flea markets, sidewalk cafés,
wide and luxurious boulevards, elegant cuisine, and numerous monuments.
Hub’Air Aviation Academy can provide accommodation (*) in Paris, in the neighbourhood of Charles de Gaulle Airport.
(*) Accommodation in Malta is not included.
8. TYPE RATING
INTRODUCTION
Type Rating is a qualification that all Civil Aviation Authorities require you to complete before you may fly a multi-crew complex type of aircraft.
Type rating, Unlike light aircraft where you would complete a Class Rating and then be qualified to fly a group of similar planes, the Type Rating
goes into far more depth depending on the complexity of the aircraft systems and flying characteristics.
The Type Rating typically consists of Computer Based Training Ground School, Fixed Base simulator training and then Full Flight simulator
training on very sophisticated level D devices. The final requirement would be to actually fly six touch and go’s in the form of six circuits. Once all
the required training has taken place, and you have passed the skill test, then the aircraft rating is issued on your professional flying licence.
To qualify for a Type Rating course with Hub’Air Aviation Academy, you should be in the possession of a valid CPL-IR-MEP, which you will have
obtained after completing the whole ATPL course, leading to a ‘Frozen’ ATPL (A). Apart from this, you should also have succeeded an MCC (Multi
Crew Cooperation Course).
Description of the Type Rating course
The Type Rating courses take place in France (Paris), the Netherlands (Amsterdam) or Belgium (Brussels), depending on the availabilities of
the slots.
The Ground School footprint includes CBT (Computer Based Training) on A320 or B737 systems. The CBT is an online study tool and you can
do this training at ease at your place. Upon arrival at the training centre, you will get system revision/performance and ECAM study with an
airbus A320 or Boeing qualified instructor. Prior to the FFS training, you will have an EASA multiple-choice exam. We will aim to adjust your
training schedule and make it fit into a one-month schedule.
Hub’Air Aviation Academy includes Ground School and training on an approved FFS (Full Flight Simulator).
Hub’Air combines Type Rating and MCC on one device. You will always be paired with a simulator partner. All our instructors are active airline
pilots flying A320 or B737 airliners with major airlines.
You will learn how to use the flight management computers and how to control the aircraft through a control panel. You will be able to
perform a complete flight with all sequences related to it, taking into account the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). You will also
perform fully automated approaches, both ILS and NON-ILS (Instrument Landing System) approaches, including a go-around, etc.
Apart from this, you will also learn the complete methodology of solving non-regular situations through the ECAM system (Electronic
Centralised Aircraft Monitoring).
At the end of the training, you will be assessed by an official TRE (Type Rating Examiner), who will put you through a set of mandatory items,
to check whether you have the correct level of skill to be issued with the A320 or B737 Type Rating.
After the Skill Test, six take-offs and six landings with an A319 may be scheduled with our partner airline Adria Airways or with our partner
airline Jet Time for B737.
