Welcome to the training module on Littelfuse 157/157T Series Nano2 ® Fuse Clip Assembly. This training module introduces 157/157T Standard Nano Fuse and Clip Assembly and their key features.
Littelfuse 157/157T series offer a solution for automated installation and replacement of miniature Nano2® surface mount fuses. Both fuse and clip combinations enable automated placement within PC Board assemblies, with the added benefits of quick and easy fuse replacement when necessary, without the risks of circuit board damage typically associated with re-soldering surface mount fuses.
Here list key parameters for you to select 157 series Nano fuses. The current rating of the fuses is up to 10A. For safe operation, it is typically derated 25% for operation at 25°C to avoid nuisance blowing. Therefore, fuse with a current rating of 10A is not usually recommended for operation at more than 7.5A in a 25°C ambient. The voltage rating, as marked on a fuse, indicates that the fuse can be relied upon to safely interrupt its rated short circuit current in a circuit where the voltage is equal to, or less than, its rated voltage. The value of voltage rating is 125VAC/VDC. This series fuses are fully compatible with RoHS/Pb-Free solder alloys and higher temperature profiles associated with leadfree assembly.
Here list key parameters for you to select 157T series Nano fuses. The interrupting rating range from 50 amperes for 125V AC/DC up to 300 amperes for 32V DC. The interrupting rating is the maximum approved current which the fuse can safely interrupt at rated voltage. During a fault or short circuit condition, a fuse may receive an instantaneous overload current many times greater than its normal operating current. Safe operation requires that the fuse remain intact and clear the circuit. Here illustrates the dimension of 157/157T series.
157/157T series are good replacement for 154 series OMNI-BLOK fuses. As 157/157T series have more reliable metal clips, and it is Pb-Free reflow soldering profile compatible. Compared to 154 series, the size of 157 series is smaller but slightly higher.
Here shows how the 157/157T series’ part numbers correspond with the nominal current rating.
The 157/157T Series Fuse/Clip assembly is a small, square, time lag, surface mount fuse that is assembled in surface mountable fuse clips. The unique time delay feature of 157T fuse design helps solve the problem of nuisance “opening” by accommodating inrush currents that normally cause a fast acting fuse to open. The fuse clip and pre-installed fuse combination can be automatically placed in PC Board in one efficient manufacturing operation. It permits quick and easy replacement of fuses without performing desoldering process, even in the field and without exposing the PC Board to detrimental effects of rework solder heat. They are ideal for electronics applications such as networking, instrumentation, and telecom.
