We talk about designing for emotions,
game designers are actually winning at
this. Stephen Anderson from CapitalOne
explains the similarities between product
design and board game design.

A project that consists of printing a
sushi in 3D after having scanned it.
This 3D printer is capable of printing
food, where each pixel has a different
taste, color, texture and nutrients. For
now, the printer is only capable of
generating a big 8-bit sushi, but the
concept is here.

This session dives into how if designers look at their own product design processes through the lens of game design, they will see plenty of glaring opportunities for improvement, as well as a few tricks we might pick up. We talk about designing for emotions, game designers are actually winning at this. Stephen Anderson from CapitalOne explains the similarities between product design and board game design. Some example of learnings: Knowing when to push back on client requests to keep the vision, delay releases because the feeling isn’t quite right. This 3D printer is capable of printing food, where each pixel has a different taste, color, texture and nutrients.
