College Scholarship Essay
Scholarships are a great way to a free college education. There are many prospective college
students who use several other means for funding their college education such as grants, or loans.
Grants are funds that do not have to be repaid. Student loans usually have to be repaid. There are
several ways how to pay for college, and start off your college career with scholarships.
When starting your search for college scholarships, you should consider your current student status.
Are you a new high school graduate? Are you pursuing a second degree or advanced degree? What
field do you wish to pursue? The answer to these questions may determine where you start your
search for scholarships. If you're a recent high school graduate, you may...show more content...
For example, high demand fields of study would be in fields such as technology, nursing, medicine,
education and science. You may search the internet for these type scholarships, or you may check
with a representative from the financial aid office at the institution that you wish to attend for more
information about these types of unique scholarships.
There are some scholarships that are institution based. You may check with a financial aid counselor
at the institution that you wish to attend to find out if you meet the criteria for any scholarships that
they have available. They will usually inform you of what's available at their institution, and there
may or may not be additional requirements to apply for the scholarship. Some scholarships may
require you to write an essay, or maintain a certain grade point average to keep the scholarship.
There are also many scholarships available to prospective students who are athletes. There are
many generous scholarships available for students who wish to play football, basketball, baseball,
golf, track & field, cheerleading, softball, or other sports. This is usually based on the type of sports
that are offered by the institution that you wish to attend. Many college athletes are recruited prior
to enrollment, but there are opportunities available for

We live in a diverse world filled with many different types of people who come from many
different types of backgrounds. In the United States these people commonly live in two types of
settings; rural or urban. From my own perspective I would consider urban fast paced with large
amounts of people. Rural is just the opposite, with its beautiful country roads, acres of fields, and
practically knowing where every person lives. I am honestly auspicious enough to be one of the
lucky kids who got to grow up in a rural community surrounded by not only my biological family,
but as well as my community, and school family, where I was always offered a caring hand.

The first thing I ever wanted to be was a dentist. In my small community we had one dentist in the
town I grew up in. I was at an age where everything I saw was intriguing. My mother had taken me
with her to her dental appointment at the old school in my town where this Doctor's dental
practice was located. I was in love with his occupation for some unknown reason which I now
believe was the independence, intelligence, and love of giving people a smile they are proud of. I
didn't want to stay a dentist for long at that age though, as my mind was always changing. I have
always had a fascination with teeth since then however which has lead me in my last twelve
years' multiple times to the dream of one day becoming a Dentist myself and giving people the
smile they desire as well. As a senior in my rural high school, I was lucky enough to get a head
start in my career path which I feel I would not have happened if I were living in an urban setting.
I am currently involved in the Health Care Academy through Chippewa Valley Technical College
while being located in Ladysmith which is about ten minutes from my school where I am receiving
an education to become a certified Dental Assistant. I will graduate this may from CVTC with a
technical diploma right before graduating from high school. I decided to enroll in this program to

I am here
Ever since I was a young kid I have always been interested in movies. My grandma, who was full
of the wise the life experience left, always knew about my interest in movies. She feed my vain for
the art. Even though her religion, she professed Adventist of seven–day religion, didn't let her go to
the cinema, she always found the way to took me to the cinema. She and I enjoyed watch movies.
We used to sit in the darkness room, with our faces illuminated from the reflection of the light
which rebooted from the screen, both absorbs in the plot of the movie which made us laughed or
cried. After the movie, while we went back to her home, she started to talk about the movie. She had

I never stop thinking about being a film director. All these elements have given me a very broad
outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a range of topics. I strongly believe that although
some are not related directly, all these qualities will influence my graduate work.
When the opportunity showed up I took it. I came to New York City to study film. But I have to
start from the beginning. The first year I prepared to get my GED. In October 2001 I took the
examination and I passed it. Now, the second step, how can I do to pay a college or a university?
I started to work and I took editing courses in the School of Visual Art and NYU. I bought a
digital camera and I learned how to used it. I started to work making digital videos for parties and
events. I earned enough money to start my career. The CUNY advisor sent me to HOSTOS
Community College because he told me that it would be easier for me to study there. Even though
the major that I was interested in, wasn't in HOSTOS curriculum, I accepted but with the idea in my
mind to changed to the college where film major was imparted.
After three semesters in HOSTOS I transferred to Brooklyn College and I enrolled in the film
program. I will be a

Future Leaders Scholarship Essay
My goals are to attend college and to continue to support issues such as women empowerment,
which I have been actively supporting the past 4 years. I desire to major in informatics because I
would like to go into a field that not many women go into and I desire to minor (or perhaps double
major if possible) in business because the female to male ratio of leaders in the business are
depressingly low for females in America today, despite the fact that women are just as capable as
men in the workplace. I believe that the KPMG Future Leaders Program's goal for developing
future generations of women leaders is personally, my perfect opportunity. The scholarship provided
in this program would help me go to the best college of my choice to receive

My Passion For Scholarship
My passion for intercultural study started when I was fifteen years old. I had just began to learn
French for my high school language requirement, and our teacher told us about an exchange trip
we could apply to participate in, where we would be matched up with a student from France who
was roughly the same age as us and we would spend four weeks living together (two weeks in our
home and two weeks in theirs). I chose to apply, with no clue what a huge impression such an
experience would have on my life. I was accepted into the program, and was matched with a girl
named Aline, who was exactly two days older than me and lived in Strasbourg, the largest city in
Alsace. We exchanged emails for a few months, and in February of 2012 she and her...show more

Just having Aline stay with my family for that short time taught me so much more about human
nature and the importance and difficulties of cross–cultural communication than I had ever learned in
school. In June, I flew with eleven other kids from my high school to Alsace, and got to live with
Aline's family in Strasbourg for two weeks. The impact that the trip had on me is indescribable.
Through the immersion in both French and Alsatian culture, I began to grasp for the first time
both how small and how very large the world is. I had never spent so much time thinking about
the way life was for other people, and found that once I began thinking about it I couldn't stop; I
learned so much about intercultural communication and exchange over those couple weeks, and I
developed a thirst for travel that I had never had before. I came back from the trip with a new
perspective on life, and began thinking a lot more often about the interplay between cultures, both in
America and abroad. It was on the flight home that I decided I wouldn't mind spending my entire life
learning about the rest of the

For this scholarship, I wanted to make whoever is reading this short essay to know who I truly am
and who I truly want to become. I am a 17–year–old girl with aspirations and dreams that I am
determined to reach. Growing up in a religious family, I was always brought up with specific
morals and values but that has shaped me into the person I am today. I grew up in a family where
their education was not nearly as good as mine is today. Being the first one in my family to go to a
four–year college makes me want to push harder to make them happy. As a young child, I always
had an interest in cooking, reading, and playing tennis. The qualities that I have used doing these
things has shaped me into the person I am today. These hobbies taught me...show more content...
Having the sense that I pushed myself the hardest I can and knowing that I won't stop as I further
my education makes all of the obstacles worthwhile. Scholarships in a way have motivated me to
do more as a student. I wanted to be able to do more like scholarships to benefit myself rather than
having that feeling that I didn't do as much for myself then I should have. Being considered for a
scholarship will give me the feeling that all the dedication that I've put into my work for the past
four years was all worth it. Just the satisfaction of knowing that I put my all into it is just a good
feeling as being awarded a scholarship. Scholarships are meant to push students farther in what
they want so being able to do this has made me think of all the great things that can come out of
things like this. I've never stopped trying at anything I've done and I will continue this as I go
further in my education and career. I would like to advocate for my future students that always
being able to motivate and have faith in yourself will always get you to you truly desire. I've had
faith in myself as a student to try as hard as I possibly can to get these scholarships and to put my

Community Scholarship Essay
A young person should strive to support their local community for various reasons. Engaging in
community service provides people with the opportunity to become active members of their
community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service and
volunteerism enables one to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those
who need it most.
Supporting the community is a way to give back, it's a learning experience, it strengthens the
community, promotes personal growth and self–esteem, it brings people together, it makes you feel
good, it's an investment to the area you work and live and most importantly it allows you to make a
difference.
I have been able to develop real–world skills that has helped me to succeed both in school and at
home. I have learned leadership, problem solving, time management, communication skills and how
to work with others. I can see firsthand that the work I have done has made a real impact in the

Essay Ap English Class
It has been an interesting semester of AP English. I wrote a total of four essays, each one seem to
be better then the last. My best essay had to have been my college scholarship essay. The prompt I
used for my scholarship essay was "something I know now that I wish I knew when I was
younger". I talk about how failure is something everyone should experience, because it helps you
learn from your mistakes and gain valuable experience. I truly believe in this concept, which helped
me, dive head first into this essay. Something else that made this essay standout, as my best work
is that I was able to get my point across and use some personally experiences that helped drive the
point home. In summary, my college scholarship essay is probably the best evidence of my hard
work because I put a lot of thought and effort into writing it. Making this portfolio made me think
about my writing skills and what level of writing I am on. I think that I made some improvements to
my writing, but I could have done better. Some improvements I made during this semester would
be better organization; I was able to produce my own outline that actually helped me while I was
writing my essay. Another improvement that I made would be the ability to find three main points
that could be argued in a paper. Even though there was improvement in some aspects of my writing
there are some areas that could use a little work. I need to do a better job of supporting my main
points. I am able to find the main

Why I Chose Scholarship
I want to continue my education so I can get the best job I possibly can. I know the only way I
can achieve that goal is to continue my education. I also want to be financially stable so my kids
and wife never has to worry about being able to go on vacation, or going shopping, or helping out
friends and family when they need me. I want to be able to help, and it all starts with getting a good
job, which requires a higher level of education.
The reason I want to study exercise sciences is because I want to be an athletic trainer. I want a
career where I can help people and be around sports at the same time, and being an athletic trainer
would allow me to accomplish that. Being around athletes that remind me of my past self would be

It is a wonderful state with many dedicated communities. Indianapolis and Fort Wayne are a
couple cities with an abundance of opportunities. However, Adams County is a fantastic place to
raise a family in my opinion. I'm definitely biased from growing up here and being a fifth
generation of the area, but I would recommend Adams County to anyone looking for with a value of
community that embraces the idea of a city of safety. I also believe that we are fortunate to be a
community that has three school districts that received high ratings not only at the state level but in
national rankings, which would create a desire to return Adams County to raise a family.
I know for sure of one thing that keeps college–educated people from returning to Adams County
after they have completed their education. First of all, I believe it all goes back to their high school
days. I know from experience, there is no significant activities for teenagers in Monroe, Berne, or
Decatur. Yes, in Decatur and Berne, we can bowl. But we can only bowl so much, and it can get
costly. Since as teens many find the area boring, when given the opportunity to move on from the
Adams County area. Then when drawn to larger cities that have more activities, they choose not to
return––with the exception to visit family. Secondly, the lack of economic growth outside of
manufacturing leaves little choices for college–educated individuals. For myself wanting to major

All men are said to be created equal, in my opinion, not all men. Some have a drive that's greater
than most. Everyone wants an Athletic–Scholarship, but not everyone is willing to put in the time,
effort, commitment, dedication and preservation to be the best Student–Athlete representing their
school. For every good in life comes a sacrifice. Nothing valuable is going to come to you and to
obtain something of such value you have to be willing to take a risk. In my life, I've taken many

Athletic Scholarships
There are many good athletes in professional sports today. There are many good athletes in
college sports today also. Some of the biggest names in sports are Mark McGwire, Steve Young,
Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and so on. Now, imagine if all of those players never made it to the
pros. What would happen to professional sports? Why are they in the pros now? To make it into
professional sports you need more than just talent. You need opportunity. Collegescholarships not
only give athletes the opportunity to reach the professional ranks, but also give the chance for
many players to earn a degree in higher education. Many people dream of being a professional

Michael Jordan without attending North Carolina, Allen Iverson without attending Georgetown

you can not miss a step in the process of getting there. A college scholarship is a giant step. Along
with college scholarships being a step to making it into professional sports, it is also many times
the only way for some people to earn a college degree. College is very expensive and can many
times run young adults into a large debt once out of college. For example, USC can cost up to
$25,000 a year to attend. That includes tuition, books, parking, room, and board. At the end of a 4
year term at USC, the total comes out to about $100,000. That $100,000 is excluding other living
expenses such as gas, car payment, car insurance, clothing, and general spending money. Not only is
that figure contained to USC but can be easily applied to Georgetown, Brigham Young and The
University of North Carolina. That's a very expensive education and not everybody has the luxury of
spending that much money. Many people would

I started at taking art classes in high school to explore how I might use art to change and shape

Reflective Essay: Applying To A Scholarship
I hesitated at first when debating whether or not I should apply to this scholarship; as a white
person, I felt that it wouldn't be right to apply to a scholarship for racial diversity. Nevertheless, I
believe that I can help ease racial tensions and push our society towards the acceptance of
equality. As a Bulgarian, I feel that I can relate to at least some of the struggles faced today by
people of color. People have teased me and have made assumptions about me based on my
nationality; I am a foreigner wherever I go. I am "the American" in Bulgaria, and "the Bulgarian"
in America. I have been called a communist, and have had my Bulgarian heritage generalized to
being "basically like Russia." I know how simultaneously frustrating and painful such experiences
can be. I have been able to deal with this struggles, but I know others are not as fortunate. I can only

In my four years as a Fairfield Eagle, I have come to a new understanding of our school motto, 'A
Tradition of Excellence.' Excellence in our school is something that we boast about regularly
throughout our community. For example, what community can boast of a football program that, in
the last decade, has been to more state championship games than any other school? What community
can boast of a girls' basketball program that held a 104–0 record with three back–to–back titles, and a
total of four? My answer: Fairfield can. Therefore, nothing is a bigger source of pride or, more
inspiring than being a part of a community that should never have achieved such a high level of

Writing An Essay For Scholarship

  • 1. College Scholarship Essay Scholarships are a great way to a free college education. There are many prospective college students who use several other means for funding their college education such as grants, or loans. Grants are funds that do not have to be repaid. Student loans usually have to be repaid. There are several ways how to pay for college, and start off your college career with scholarships. When starting your search for college scholarships, you should consider your current student status. Are you a new high school graduate? Are you pursuing a second degree or advanced degree? What field do you wish to pursue? The answer to these questions may determine where you start your search for scholarships. If you're a recent high school graduate, you may...show more content... You may search the internet for these type scholarships, or you may check with a representative from the financial aid office at the institution that you wish to attend for more information about these types of unique scholarships. There are some scholarships that are institution based. You may check with a financial aid counselor at the institution that you wish to attend to find out if you meet the criteria for any scholarships that they have available. They will usually inform you of what's available at their institution, and there may or may not be additional requirements to apply for the scholarship. Some scholarships may require you to write an essay, or maintain a certain grade point average to keep the scholarship. There are also many scholarships available to prospective students who are athletes. There are many generous scholarships available for students who wish to play football, basketball, baseball, golf, track & field, cheerleading, softball, or other sports. This is usually based on the type of sports that are offered by the institution that you wish to attend. Many college athletes are recruited prior to enrollment, but there are opportunities available for Get more content on HelpWriting.net

He was in the workforce until 2010 when a spinal cyst resulted in a 3–month stay in the hospital and him being placed on permanent disability. With his many medical expenses, the scholarship will help Jessica experience this once in a lifetime trip. Jessica is a hardworking and tenacious girl with a thirst for knowledge. She has been in advanced placement classes since the 7th grade. She also participates in the Color Gaud With the High school band for the past 3 years. This trip will be truly invaluable in the addition to her education and life experience. • 3. Scholarship Essay We live in a diverse world filled with many different types of people who come from many different types of backgrounds. In the United States these people commonly live in two types of settings; rural or urban. From my own perspective I would consider urban fast paced with large amounts of people. Rural is just the opposite, with its beautiful country roads, acres of fields, and practically knowing where every person lives. I am honestly auspicious enough to be one of the lucky kids who got to grow up in a rural community surrounded by not only my biological family, but as well as my community, and school family, where I was always offered a caring hand. I feel that being part of a rural school community gives you many different opportunities...show more content... The first thing I ever wanted to be was a dentist. In my small community we had one dentist in the town I grew up in. I was at an age where everything I saw was intriguing. My mother had taken me with her to her dental appointment at the old school in my town where this Doctor's dental practice was located. I was in love with his occupation for some unknown reason which I now believe was the independence, intelligence, and love of giving people a smile they are proud of. I didn't want to stay a dentist for long at that age though, as my mind was always changing. I have always had a fascination with teeth since then however which has lead me in my last twelve years' multiple times to the dream of one day becoming a Dentist myself and giving people the smile they desire as well. As a senior in my rural high school, I was lucky enough to get a head start in my career path which I feel I would not have happened if I were living in an urban setting. I am currently involved in the Health Care Academy through Chippewa Valley Technical College while being located in Ladysmith which is about ten minutes from my school where I am receiving an education to become a certified Dental Assistant. I will graduate this may from CVTC with a technical diploma right before graduating from high school. I decided to enroll in this program to give myself Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Scholarship Essay I am here Ever since I was a young kid I have always been interested in movies. My grandma, who was full of the wise the life experience left, always knew about my interest in movies. She feed my vain for the art. Even though her religion, she professed Adventist of seven–day religion, didn't let her go to the cinema, she always found the way to took me to the cinema. She and I enjoyed watch movies. We used to sit in the darkness room, with our faces illuminated from the reflection of the light which rebooted from the screen, both absorbs in the plot of the movie which made us laughed or cried. After the movie, while we went back to her home, she started to talk about the movie. She had a particular point of view where the main story...show more content... I never stop thinking about being a film director. All these elements have given me a very broad outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a range of topics. I strongly believe that although some are not related directly, all these qualities will influence my graduate work. When the opportunity showed up I took it. I came to New York City to study film. But I have to start from the beginning. The first year I prepared to get my GED. In October 2001 I took the examination and I passed it. Now, the second step, how can I do to pay a college or a university? I started to work and I took editing courses in the School of Visual Art and NYU. I bought a digital camera and I learned how to used it. I started to work making digital videos for parties and events. I earned enough money to start my career. The CUNY advisor sent me to HOSTOS Community College because he told me that it would be easier for me to study there. Even though the major that I was interested in, wasn't in HOSTOS curriculum, I accepted but with the idea in my mind to changed to the college where film major was imparted. After three semesters in HOSTOS I transferred to Brooklyn College and I enrolled in the film program. I will be a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Future Leaders Scholarship Essay My goals are to attend college and to continue to support issues such as women empowerment, which I have been actively supporting the past 4 years. I desire to major in informatics because I would like to go into a field that not many women go into and I desire to minor (or perhaps double major if possible) in business because the female to male ratio of leaders in the business are depressingly low for females in America today, despite the fact that women are just as capable as men in the workplace. I believe that the KPMG Future Leaders Program's goal for developing future generations of women leaders is personally, my perfect opportunity. • 6. My Passion For Scholarship My passion for intercultural study started when I was fifteen years old. I had just began to learn French for my high school language requirement, and our teacher told us about an exchange trip we could apply to participate in, where we would be matched up with a student from France who was roughly the same age as us and we would spend four weeks living together (two weeks in our home and two weeks in theirs). I chose to apply, with no clue what a huge impression such an experience would have on my life. I was accepted into the program, and was matched with a girl named Aline, who was exactly two days older than me and lived in Strasbourg, the largest city in Alsace. We exchanged emails for a few months, and in February of 2012 she and her...show more content... Just having Aline stay with my family for that short time taught me so much more about human nature and the importance and difficulties of cross–cultural communication than I had ever learned in school. In June, I flew with eleven other kids from my high school to Alsace, and got to live with Aline's family in Strasbourg for two weeks. The impact that the trip had on me is indescribable. Through the immersion in both French and Alsatian culture, I began to grasp for the first time both how small and how very large the world is. I had never spent so much time thinking about the way life was for other people, and found that once I began thinking about it I couldn't stop; I learned so much about intercultural communication and exchange over those couple weeks, and I developed a thirst for travel that I had never had before. I came back from the trip with a new perspective on life, and began thinking a lot more often about the interplay between cultures, both in America and abroad. It was on the flight home that I decided I wouldn't mind spending my entire life learning about the rest of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. For this scholarship, I wanted to make whoever is reading this short essay to know who I truly am and who I truly want to become. I am a 17–year–old girl with aspirations and dreams that I am determined to reach. Growing up in a religious family, I was always brought up with specific morals and values but that has shaped me into the person I am today. I grew up in a family where their education was not nearly as good as mine is today. Being the first one in my family to go to a four–year college makes me want to push harder to make them happy. As a young child, I always had an interest in cooking, reading, and playing tennis. The qualities that I have used doing these things has shaped me into the person I am today. These hobbies taught me...show more content... Having the sense that I pushed myself the hardest I can and knowing that I won't stop as I further my education makes all of the obstacles worthwhile. Scholarships in a way have motivated me to do more as a student. I wanted to be able to do more like scholarships to benefit myself rather than having that feeling that I didn't do as much for myself then I should have. Being considered for a scholarship will give me the feeling that all the dedication that I've put into my work for the past four years was all worth it. Just the satisfaction of knowing that I put my all into it is just a good feeling as being awarded a scholarship. Scholarships are meant to push students farther in what they want so being able to do this has made me think of all the great things that can come out of things like this. I've never stopped trying at anything I've done and I will continue this as I go further in my education and career. I would like to advocate for my future students that always being able to motivate and have faith in yourself will always get you to you truly desire. I've had faith in myself as a student to try as hard as I possibly can to get these scholarships and to put my heart into Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Community Scholarship Essay A young person should strive to support their local community for various reasons. Engaging in community service provides people with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service and volunteerism enables one to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most. Supporting the community is a way to give back, it's a learning experience, it strengthens the community, promotes personal growth and self–esteem, it brings people together, it makes you feel good, it's an investment to the area you work and live and most importantly it allows you to make a difference. I have been able to develop real–world skills that has helped me to succeed both in school and at home. I have learned leadership, problem solving, time management, communication skills and how to work with others. I can see firsthand that the work I have done has made a real impact in the community. I have also prepared snack packs for families at the Ronald Me Donald House– prepared bags with pudding cups cheese crackers, chips, granola bars and muffins. • 9. Essay Ap English Class It has been an interesting semester of AP English. I wrote a total of four essays, each one seem to be better then the last. My best essay had to have been my college scholarship essay. The prompt I used for my scholarship essay was "something I know now that I wish I knew when I was younger". I talk about how failure is something everyone should experience, because it helps you learn from your mistakes and gain valuable experience. I truly believe in this concept, which helped me, dive head first into this essay. Something else that made this essay standout, as my best work is that I was able to get my point across and use some personally experiences that helped drive the point home. In summary, my college scholarship essay is probably the best evidence of my hard work because I put a lot of thought and effort into writing it. Making this portfolio made me think about my writing skills and what level of writing I am on. I think that I made some improvements to my writing, but I could have done better. Some improvements I made during this semester would be better organization; I was able to produce my own outline that actually helped me while I was writing my essay. Another improvement that I made would be the ability to find three main points that could be argued in a paper. Even though there was improvement in some aspects of my writing there are some areas that could use a little work. I need to do a better job of supporting my main points. I am able to find the main Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Why I Chose Scholarship I want to continue my education so I can get the best job I possibly can. I know the only way I can achieve that goal is to continue my education. I also want to be financially stable so my kids and wife never has to worry about being able to go on vacation, or going shopping, or helping out friends and family when they need me. I want to be able to help, and it all starts with getting a good job, which requires a higher level of education. The reason I want to study exercise sciences is because I want to be an athletic trainer. I want a career where I can help people and be around sports at the same time, and being an athletic trainer would allow me to accomplish that. Being around athletes that remind me of my past self would be so cool....show more content... It is a wonderful state with many dedicated communities. Indianapolis and Fort Wayne are a couple cities with an abundance of opportunities. However, Adams County is a fantastic place to raise a family in my opinion. I'm definitely biased from growing up here and being a fifth generation of the area, but I would recommend Adams County to anyone looking for with a value of community that embraces the idea of a city of safety. I also believe that we are fortunate to be a community that has three school districts that received high ratings not only at the state level but in national rankings, which would create a desire to return Adams County to raise a family. I know for sure of one thing that keeps college–educated people from returning to Adams County after they have completed their education. First of all, I believe it all goes back to their high school days. I know from experience, there is no significant activities for teenagers in Monroe, Berne, or Decatur. Yes, in Decatur and Berne, we can bowl. But we can only bowl so much, and it can get costly. Since as teens many find the area boring, when given the opportunity to move on from the Adams County area. Then when drawn to larger cities that have more activities, they choose not to return––with the exception to visit family. Secondly, the lack of economic growth outside of manufacturing leaves little choices for college–educated individuals. For myself wanting to major Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Athletic-Scholarship Essay All men are said to be created equal, in my opinion, not all men. Some have a drive that's greater than most. Everyone wants an Athletic–Scholarship, but not everyone is willing to put in the time, effort, commitment, dedication and preservation to be the best Student–Athlete representing their school. For every good in life comes a sacrifice. Nothing valuable is going to come to you and to obtain something of such value you have to be willing to take a risk. In my life, I've taken many risk, some that were life changing and change who I am today. Many of my peers take risks and regret taking them down the line. Taking this risk gave me more time to think about how I wanted to move forward in regards to my future, getting more involved in my community/activities, and dedicate more time into my current task on become a better student–athlete....show more content... • 14. Athletic Scholarships Essay Athletic Scholarships There are many good athletes in professional sports today. There are many good athletes in college sports today also. Some of the biggest names in sports are Mark McGwire, Steve Young, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and so on. Now, imagine if all of those players never made it to the pros. What would happen to professional sports? Why are they in the pros now? To make it into professional sports you need more than just talent. You need opportunity. Collegescholarships not only give athletes the opportunity to reach the professional ranks, but also give the chance for many players to earn a degree in higher education. Many people dream of being a professional athlete. Some people make it a reality, but...show more content... After it's done baking, the final product is a delicious cake. The cake can't be complete without it being baked. There can not be a missed step in the process. Could Mark McGwire have made it to the pros without attending The University of Southern California(USC) on an athletic scholarship or Michael Jordan without attending North Carolina, Allen Iverson without attending Georgetown University, or Steve Young without attendingBrigham Young University? To earn a spot on a roster, you can not miss a step in the process of getting there. A college scholarship is a giant step. Along with college scholarships being a step to making it into professional sports, it is also many times the only way for some people to earn a college degree. College is very expensive and can many times run young adults into a large debt once out of college. For example, USC can cost up to $25,000 a year to attend. That includes tuition, books, parking, room, and board. At the end of a 4 year term at USC, the total comes out to about $100,000. That $100,000 is excluding other living expenses such as gas, car payment, car insurance, clothing, and general spending money. Not only is that figure contained to USC but can be easily applied to Georgetown, Brigham Young and The University of North Carolina. That's a very expensive education and not everybody has the luxury of spending that much money. Many people would Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Fine Arts Scholarship Essay I started at taking art classes in high school to explore how I might use art to change and shape the world around me and I started to learn the demands and possibilities of what art could do and what I could do. From fifth grade into my sophomore year college my mother had cancer and various types at that, and so 50% of my responsibilities were home and the other 50% were at school. I ended up missing school often, but I managed to graduate high school in three years so my mother could see me graduate because it was one of her dreams. Going into an area that may not have a very optimistic employment opportunities has put my friends and family on an edge but I can do this and I can do it well. I am setting out to learn what I do yet understand and fully believe this is what I am must to do. I have interest in subjects other than the fine arts as well. • 16. Reflective Essay: Applying To A Scholarship I hesitated at first when debating whether or not I should apply to this scholarship; as a white person, I felt that it wouldn't be right to apply to a scholarship for racial diversity. Nevertheless, I believe that I can help ease racial tensions and push our society towards the acceptance of equality. As a Bulgarian, I feel that I can relate to at least some of the struggles faced today by people of color. People have teased me and have made assumptions about me based on my nationality; I am a foreigner wherever I go. I am "the American" in Bulgaria, and "the Bulgarian" in America. I have been called a communist, and have had my Bulgarian heritage generalized to being "basically like Russia." I know how simultaneously frustrating and painful such experiences can be. Include how your future plans will involve service to others. Write a 300–500 word essay on the above topic. In my four years as a Fairfield Eagle, I have come to a new understanding of our school motto, 'A Tradition of Excellence.' Excellence in our school is something that we boast about regularly throughout our community. For example, what community can boast of a football program that, in the last decade, has been to more state championship games than any other school? What community can boast of a girls' basketball program that held a 104–0 record with three back–to–back titles, and a total of four? My answer: Fairfield can. Therefore, nothing is a bigger source of pride or, more inspiring than being a part of a community that should never have achieved such a high level of success. Consequently, through 'A Tradition of Excellence', we commit ourselves to the path of becoming something better, and what better to take with us into the future than the desire to constantly push for the best that we can hope to be?...show more content... In football, our coaching staff drilled into our minds that it [football] is nothing more than a stepping stone. Furthermore, it helped me to develop characteristics that will benefit me all throughout my adult life. It taught me to be honest, patient, loyal, dedicated, decent, and how to work hard. It showed me that in order to perform at the best that I could be, I would need to choose what offered the best result. That result may not have shown immediately, but it always came. • 18. Agriculture Scholarship Whittni Ananin Department of Agriculture and Nutrition Scholarship Essay 9 January, 2017 I choose to pursue an agriculture degree because I have always felt drawn to the field. I have loved animals and felt a strong desire to care for them since I was a little girl. Animals mean the world to me and when they're doing well, my heart can rest. I absolutely love farm animals and fully intend to have my own sort of miniature zoo on a hobby farm. During high school I was in FFA and 4H and thoroughly enjoyed showing chickens and rabbits. I started out as a biology major at Dixie State but did not find satisfaction because there were no animal science courses available, but I was unable to leave my family and live elsewhere so I remained unhappy. At Ajax high school, I have volunteered in various departments. This involvement has equipped me with a tremendous amount of leadership skills. I am a member of the general council. I also volunteered in assisting the drama department in last year's musical. Through this job I painted sets and helped make props for the actors to use. I enjoyed helping this department presenting this play because I see first hand how even the smallest tasks can elevate a simple school play to a dramatic masterpiece. My contribution brought me great joy. Alongside with assisting the musical, I have volunteered, to helping my school tech crew. I was also involved in a kindergarten graduation. Although I do not consider myself "Techy", I felt it was important to get involved in my school, so I made myself available and surprised myself into what a contributed. It was a great success. In addition, I have volunteered I my school's after school program and helping with events that are held, for example, Grade 9 day. This was the first day of high school for those coming from junior school. We meet the new freshmen and make myself available to them if they or their parent needed assistance. As I progress throughout life I know I will always be involved in community service because of the rewarding experiences. Not just because I think it is important, but because it is something I enjoy doing and look forward to. I love bringing joy to others and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Why Are You Applying For A Scholarship? Write an essay (no longer than 200 words) to explain why you are applying for a scholarship. Because some scholarships require financial need, you may want to include information on your family's financial situation. Coming from a single parent household finances are very tight. My father is not fiscally involved and my mother holds two jobs to support her family. It's clear to me that there will be a heavy burden of student loans. A scholarship would allow me the opportunity to become a first generation college graduate. I have a strong desire to become a better person, to better provide for my family by pursuing higher education. Becoming a business or civil rights lawyer has been my ambition since I was a little.
