3. Hrothgar king of Denmark was being attacked by a
devouring monster , named Grendel that was
protected by a magic spell and could not be hurt by
weapons made by man . Beowulf decided to help
Hrothgar .

4. • Grendel entered in Hrothgar ‘s hall and
killed a man, Beowulf tore out one of
Grendel’s arms at the shoulder , Grendel

5. Beowulf followed the blood trail of Grendel’s
arm. Then he fought Grendel’s mother killing
her. There was a great feast in the hall to
celebrate Beowulf’s victory.

6. After fifty years Beowulf fought a fire-
breathing dragon. Beowulf slayed the
dragon but he was mortally wounded and
died.
