2. HISTORY
The Band of the Royal City of Gáldar (Gran Canaria) was born on April 6,
1867. It is a component of the Federation of Bands Gran Canaria and of the
Regional Federation of Bands Canaria.

Band Conductor from Icod on the island of

In 2004 the Band of
Gáldar, launches his
first album to the
market in live entirely
composed of eight
themes.
15. Other projects
-Collaboration as a guest band in the recording of "La
Bodega de Julian" together with the popular music group
Guaraifa, Mari Carmen Estevez and Naty Saavedra as
soloists, directed by Ruben Ortiz Guerrero April 15, 2005.
-The recording of the anthem of the Union Deportiva Las
Palmas, arranged by Rubén Ortiz Guerrero in 2009,
recorded at the Marble Yamaha Studios in Las Palmas
de Gran Canaria.
-Collaboration in the play "El Malspina" Theatre Group of
the Royal City of Gáldar, under the leadership of Tito
Santana on July 22, 2009 on the occasion of the feast of
St. James Apostle.

Of about seventy
members from
conservatories and
music schools. It was
the first Band of the
island to incorporate
women as
components.
17. With its own history and its characteristics this group has
been and still is a new opportunity for young students of
music schools, conservatories and fans in general who
have chosen to devote some of their free time to practise
it in a Band as historic as this of Gáldar concerning culture
in the municipality.
