Second in the Roy series, this show tells Roy how to use the Embellisher ePub3 Creator Studio to insert music playlists and audio books to make extra money for his organization.
1. Hey Roy, ready for some more
ROI?
In this presentation, we’ll show you how to use the unique “Playlist feature” inside the
Embellisher™ ePub3 Creator Studio. Take notes, Roy. I know how distracted you get when
you’re on the Web!
2. Get the technical stuff out of the way.
I know how much you hate learning technical stuff, Roy, but hey, it’s 2015. Kids learn how
to create web content before they teethe (almost). Anyway, the following video will show
you how to use the Playlist feature inside the ePub3 Creator Studio. Practice makes
perfect, so get to it!
3. Now, for the real money-making info.
Okay, Roy, my boy, hear me out. Besides what the dude in the instructional video talked
about, you can add money to your company’s coffers by doing some of the following:
1. First, you can finagle a deal with a real recording artist. If he or she allows it, you can allow
the reader to purchase the song from iTunes or some other venue, and you can collect a
royalty! Just implant the affiliate code link to the book, and every time the song is bought,
you’ll get your cut. Such a deal!
4. Next, get a group to do it for free.
Of course, you can always get some band or group to do some music for you for nothing.
They might enjoy the exposure your publishing them can bring. This happened to EMRE
Publishing founder and author, Jim Musgrave, when he published his interactive
Steampunk novel, Steam City Pirates. Valentine Wolfe agreed and wrote the theme song
and another great Edgar Allan Poe poem put to music!
You can see the result here.
Go to the Introduction page and play the theme song that Jim wrote and Valentine Wolfe
recorded for him.
5. Psst! So, Roy, do you think Amazon’s
“whispersync” feature is pretty cool?
• Amazon caused quite a stir when they combined their audiobooks with their eBooks to create
what they called “whispersync.” This meant that the reader could use her Kindle eReader to both
listen to the audiobook version being read and read the digital version inside her eReader. Not
only that, but she could also switch from one to the other!
• We decided to do Amazon one better, however, when we created our Playlist feature inside the
Embellisher™ eReader. The beloved reader can play the audiobook inside our eReader, sure, but
that’s not all. There’s no “switching” necessary. After you insert the audiobook inside the Playlist, it
will be made available when she clicks on the music note icon inside the eReader. The complete
chapter break-down is listed, and she just clicks on the chapter audio reading and the read along
in the text portion! No switch. No distractions.
• Of course, if you want to charge a little extra for this, that’s understandable. With our app, you
collect 85% royalties, as opposed to what Amazon gives (70% maximum). And, for $500, you can
have your own installation, then you collect 100% of what you charge. Again, such a deal!
6. Hold a contest, Roy, and make more
money for your company.
You can combine the Promosimple feature inside your ePub3 book to ask your readers to enter your
music contest. Charge for it, or make it free, it’s up to you. Just follow these instructions on how to
insert the Promosimple code, and then insert the promo you’ve created (for free) at the
Promosimple website.
• Entrants can deposit their entries in Dropbox or some other cloud location.
• You establish the rules and the prizes, and you add the giveaways and extra incentives.
• Play the winners inside a special ePub3 book you create inside your ePub3 Creator Studio to gain
more readers and app installations.
7. Did you get your entry in yet, Roy?
Before I leave you to your own devices, I want you to enter our ePub3 contest. Here are the details:
• In the "Great ePub3 Multimedia Race of 2015," authors will be competing for a $1,000 grand prize
(including a year's free premium access to the Embellisher™ Mobile Marketing System). The
second place author will receive $500 (and a year's free premium access), and the third place
author will get $250 (and six month's free premium access).
• Authors receive free premium access to his suite of ePub3 Creator Studio tools to use for the
contest and even for their own projects if they choose not to enter the contest. Once accepted,
they'll receive login credentials and access to the variety of tools available inside the studio, and
they will even get tutorials emailed to them on how to use the tools.
• Once they enter the contest (ending August 31, 2015), they tell Jim what price they want to
charge, and then click the "upload into store" button. If they don't want to sell their creation, then
they must inform Jim of that fact.
• Authors can apply to receive free premium access by emailing Jim and giving him links to their
published books. Also, they should state what interest they might have in the contest and in
publishing ePub3 (multimedia) titles.
