GROUP ASSIGNMENT
The number of pages required for the assignment shall be within 8 – 15 pages (excluding
appendix). Your team shall consequently then be required to submit the written documentation
and subsequently present an oral presentation within 25 to 30 minutes. Be creative in the
presentation of your topic to the class. In any case, make it enjoyable for yourself and the class.
Each member of the group must contribute. The group members must use the Evaluation
Sheet to highlight the participation and the contribution of each member in the group.
Assessment Criteria:
You will be assessed as follows:
i. Documentation – 70%
ii. Presentation (Individual Assessment) – 10%
iii. Presentation (Group Assessment) – 10%
iv. Peer Assessment by using the Peer Assessment Evaluation Sheet – 10%
Documentation Requirement:
Table of contents.
The table of contents should follow the title page. It must list the Roman numeral sections and the
page on which each section starts. The table of contents may be single-spaced and may be one or
more pages long. The table of contents page(s) will not be numbered.
Body of the written entry.
The body of the written entry begins with Section I, Abstract and continues in the sequence
outlined here. The first page of the body is numbered 1 and all following pages are numbered in
sequence. The numbered pages continue through the bibliography (required) and appendix.
All fact(s) must be accompanied with the relevant footnotes, e.g.:
…annual general meetings of KLSE companies as “10 minute affairs with a
handful of people” seems apt.29

Follow this outline when you write your entry.
Each section must be titled, including the References and the appendix.
I. ABSTRACT
One-page description of the project
II. INTRODUCTION
A general introductory discussion on the social issues chosen by the group concerned should be
given.
III. ANALYSIS OF CONTENT
Please refer to Appendix A. Consult your lecturer for further details.
IV. CONCLUSION
A general conclusion on the social issues discussed and consequently your group’s view on the
findings.
V. REFERENCES
All the references used in the assignment should be given in this page and must be in Harvard
Referencing formats, e.g.:
Abdul Rahman Md. Aroff. 1999. Pendidikan Moral: Teori Etika dan
Amalan Moral. Penerbit Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang,
Selangor.Darul Ehsan.
VI. APPENDIX
An appendix is optional. Include in the appendix any exhibit appropriate to the written entry but
not important enough to include in the body; these might include sample questionnaires used,
newspaper articles, general background data, etc.

The report should demonstrate sustained and coherent analytical ability and you are required to
integrate appropriate models/concepts, which are featured in this module.
MARKING SCHEME
1. Documentation: (70 marks )
i. ABSTRACT: ( 5 marks )
One-page description of the project
ii. INTRODUCTION: ( 5 marks )
Students should give brief explanation about the Moral Issue. They should
include definition, type and etc.
iii. ANALYSIS OF CONTENT: (50 marks )
Students need to use Moral Theories and Values to elaborate their essay. They
also need to give their own examples to elaborate the answer. For Assessment
criteria please refer to page 7.
iv. CONCLUSION: ( 5 marks )

Your group’s view on the findings should be as a general conclusion on the
social issues discussed.
v. APPEARANCE AND WORD USAGE: ( 5 marks )
Professional layout, neatness, proper grammar, spelling and word usage.
2. Presentation (Individual Assessment): ( 10 marks )
(This section is individual assessed)
Constitutes 10 % of your total incourse assessment
Assessment will be by means of a 20-minute group presentation, followed by a 5-10
minute question and answer session. The presentation will need to integrate and
synthesise the findings from individual group member’s research. Time limit will be
strictly adhered to.
All group members should play an equal part in the presentation and may present content
other than that presented in the individual assignment. All members of the group should
be prepared to answer questions on any aspect of the presentation, and will therefore need
to be familiar with the research of all group members.
In the presentation, each member will be assessed on the:
o Language proficiency
o Presentation techniques
o Delivery of the information
o Ability / approach to answer the Q & A session
o Voice / tone / pronunciation

4. Peer Assessment: ( 10 marks)
Each group members will be given an Evaluation Sheet to evaluate the contribution
and the participation of their group member.
Information given in this form will be confidential.
The evaluation given by the members will be rationalised with the participation & the
contribution of each members of the group in the presentation.
Assignment Assessment Criteria
The criteria below detail the areas, which will be taken into account when the assignment is
marked. Each piece of assessed work will be awarded a percentage between 0 and 100%.
The grades awarded will be marked according to the following criteria:
75% + This would be equivalent to a Distinction and would represent
outstanding performance. The work should show a thorough
understanding of the issue together with a high degree of analysis and
critical evaluation.
65 – 74% This will be equivalent to a Credit. This would represent extremely good
work demonstrating an in depth understanding of material and sound
analysis and conclusions.
50 – 64% This would be equivalent to a Pass. Work in this category should
demonstrate good application of the main Principles to the question set
and provide a well-balanced view.
49 – 0% This would represent a failure to pass demonstrating a poor command of
the knowledge of subject area combined with an inability to interpret the
question.

Please pay particular attention to the following:
The abstract should be no more than one page, but it should excite interest for a reader, other
than the assessor, to read the whole.
Ensure that the contents page precisely reflects the whole content of the report including the
abstract and appendices.
Page numbering: Ensure that the contents page accurately reflects the position of the
contents. Page numbers prior to the ‘introduction’ should be roman numerals. From the
introduction onwards page numbering should be Arabic.
References should be listed according to the Harvard convention with the authors listed in
alphabetical order.
Authors should be accurately referenced within the report according to the Harvard
convention.
