Some ideas:<br /> <br />Prepare an informative, clear PowerPoint presentation to last approximately 30-45 minutes. <br /> <br />Present only minimal but important information about the literature review and design.<br /> <br />Focus on your results and your interpretation of them.<br /> <br />Use key words in your PowerPoint slides and use them as talking points. If you want more information provide it in the notes section. Don’t read the final presentation. “Speak” your way through it.<br /> <br />Invite questions at the end.<br /> <br />Arrange to have your defense recorded. This will provide you with documentation which will help you make any changes requested. It will also help you relax since you don’t have to worry about taking notes or remembering who said what and why. An additional advantage is that the notes can help you prepare for future publications and papers based on your dissertation.<br /> <br />
