2. THE KILLERS
I choose the killers as I found there advertisement was interesting and the music
is in the similar genre that I am interested in for my music video.

3. Images used in the advert
The layout is a poster size advert
which includes dates and times of the
concert. Also includes sponsors on
the layout at the bottom of the ad.
The layout is quite simple and direct
as it only includes the members of
the band with no background images.
The color use in this advert is
powerful as the main color is red
which contrast with the band
members clothing which is black.
This again shows main focus to the
band members. The style of the
advert is very common but effective
as it implies what it is and about
directly.

4. Text used in the advert
In the advert the text was quite bold and
unique as it related with the band. the
advert had two font and one being the
main one which was the name of the
actual band and the other font was for
information. The main title was
positioned right in front and down from
the band members and the size was
quite large. The title was almost looking
like little spotlights created in letters.
This looked really effective as it was on
there album cover. The information font
was small and underneath the main title
in a sold white color. This was
appropriate as the color did’t overpower
the main title.

5. The relationship between text and images
In this particular advert the image balances
out with the text as the image is quite bold
but the text is more vibrant and this is how
there both even. I think they work together
as it looks like its one full thing rather than
two different ideas into one. They also work
as this could attract new fans by having a
bold title but also by fans who already know
and recognize them straight away by the
image.

6. Iconography
The iconography represents the band by using
costume which the band members represent
there genre and style. in the advertisement the
band are wearing a statement look which is the
black leather jacket at this implies straight away
they are rockalternative band. Also there
personal style for example the hair on the band
member could assume a rocky look as you
would expect a person in that genre to have that
look.

7. Institutional Context
The instutional context on this advert is that its
promoting a concert which takes place in the
Smart Amanita Coliseum . The advert has a lot
of sponsors which could represent that its
mainstream but doesn't’t mention any
supporting acts or other events as. This is an
advertisement of there new tour which they
bought out there new album. The
advertisement doesn't’t give away a lot of
context apart from the major ones which is
venue , date and website.

8. Target Audience
The potential target audience for this advert
would be hardcore fans and who likes the
rock/alternative genre however the music has
elements of other genre which makes the music
more open to new audience. I would’t say this
was mainstream as its labeled under the rock
genre which a lot of the audience prefer other
genres. Overall in my opinion the audience for
this band is a mix as some people might like
one song and not the others with this band. The
age range would be varied from teen to maybe
mid 30s depending on the audience taste.
