Unit V Paper Segment: Writing Stage II
Introduction
The purpose of this research paper is to establish the
fundamental issues that the United States government is battling
with and how they can easily overcome such challenges. The
article ought to provide a long lasting solution to the economic
issue the government is facing. This will help the government to
stabilize and focus her resources on development for the better
of the citizens. Research also will give the government the way
on how to maintain her economy prosperity that will be
attractive to the investors which will see them flooding into the
country to help to pull the economy and eradicating one of the
major economic hurdles like poverty and unemployment.
Poverty as an economic issue
Poverty has become one of the greatest challenges that are
battling all the nations across the globe. No country can
comfortably say that is economically stable and that her citizens
are all financially stable. Therefore, despite the constant
increase in the GDP, the American government still has some
challenges of poverty. In most of the America, the citizens are
in deep suffering in poverty (Obadina, 2014).
Poverty comes as the result of not being in the position to
support your basic requirements. For people to stay
comfortably without any vile or wicked acts like corruption,
then they must be able to get their basic needs affordable. The
government remains relevant when her economy is capable of
supporting the full citizens, but the government can also be
deemed as irrelevant if the citizens are not in the position to
afford their core and essential requirements. Therefore, any
government of the people puts more effort to ensure that her
economy is stable and that the citizens are comfortable. The
government exploits the opportunities that can economically
stabilize the government at large.
Federal government as the level of government affected by
poverty
The term federal government is the system whereby powers are
divided between two governments which are local government
and the central national government, and these two systems are
connected by one most superior government which is the
national government. Some of the public life areas are under
the management and control of the federal government while
some of the areas are put under the supervision of the local
government. Basically, on the division of powers has been
achieved in the United States of America. Poverty as one of the
economic issue in the federal government has polarized the
functions of the federal government in the United States of
America. They have tried to put necessary measures to curb the
spread of poverty, but those measures have only reduced a small
percentage of poverty. By the creation of job opportunities, the
government has resolved poverty problems, but there is the need
for the government to boost the faith of the investors that
poverty can absolute be addressed to enable them to invest in
various states in the United States (Sreenivasan, 2009).
The detailed analysis of poverty as economy issue in U.S.A
Poverty is never a dream in the federal government, but a
reality that has dawned on the Americans, and there is need of
the quick response from the government and the entire citizens
to marshal their efforts to counter the enemy of poverty.
According to the report released by the Census Bureau, poverty
report shocked many when it disclosed that 46.2 million people
are poor or leaving in poverty. That is to show in seven
Americans. One is poor. The research also indicates that
poverty has been on the constant increase. In fact, the recession
that was experienced, therefore, has been blamed for being the
main cause of an increase of poverty among the Americans. It
further indicated that increase in poverty may predict a dark
economy comes ahead that can be preceded by a recession once
again. It has been noticed that most Americans do not
understand poverty well.
A good number of the Americans believed that those deemed as
poor are the ones that leave in destitution and have no ability
to provide nutritious food, reasonable shelter, and clothing,
However, that is not only the case but those who have or feel
economic hardship even if they are employees are classified as
poor. The government is struggling hard to ensure that those
leaving in destitutions are supported by the government to make
life more manageable for them. The government gives various
supports like air conditioning, microwaves, given vehicles or
trucks, cables or satellite TV, internet access and other
facilities. Though the government is committed to eradicating
poverty from the members or the citizens, then more effort
should be made to creating employment opportunities. Investors
should be encouraged to invest largely so that job opportunities
can be created and those who are jobless absorbed. That will
boost the growth of the economy by a significant percentage.
The government should also be able to subsidize some of the
essentials and the basic needs required by the citizens. That will
help them live affordable life according to their standards
(Brux, 2010).
Conclusion
Following the crisis that is caused by this economic issue, the
federal government must ensure that there are sustainable
measures that are put in place to ensure that the citizens and the
economy are not brought down by poverty. Poverty has also
penetrated into the government because of the negligence of the
government to bring economic reforms. Therefore, this research
paper should be used for the benefit of the government to
resolve all other economic constraints the government is going
through.

INEQUALITY IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
Unit II Research Paper Topic
Inequality: An Economic Issue in the Federal Government
There are currently several economic issues that the federal
government continuously faces. These given problems span
from economic issues related to areas like education,
polarization, inequality, and money in politics. It is important
to note, that given economic problems, normally have a great
significance in the General Domestic Product of the federal
government. Due to the federal implementation of various
social programs in the past, inequality has been a continuously
increasing economic issue the federal government has had to
face. Furthermore, this paper will discuss not only these social
programs, but the many other issues related to inequality that
the federal government faces today as well (Meissner, 1977).
What is Inequality? About the economy, inequality is the
existing alteration in numerous economic well-beings amid
persons in a state or a given region. Most of the time, it often
entails a reference of income inequality. In the US, economic
disparity has three level of measurement. They include an
individual's consumption, basic salary, and the general
prosperity.
In the US, it is true that there exists a broadening alteration
amid the haves and the have-nots. It is an issue that follows the
dwindling of the middle-class individuals. Regarding this,
inequality has a great influence on the overall economic growth
of the US. For a long period, there has been the uneven
distribution of salaries in the US. From the span of the 1970s, a
larger portion of the state's income often goes to wealthy class.
It, therefore, leads to a lessening stability among the citizens.
The criteria as mentioned above are evident in the measurement
of income before taxes (Meissner, 1977).
Recent research indicates a comparison of the income inequality
in the US collectively with other advanced countries. However,
there is an indication of relatively high variation of inequality
after taxes and given transfers. It is a sign that after taxation
process, the federal swings a significant amount of payment
from upper-income families. On the other hand, there exists a
reduction in income to minor income homes. Similarly, the
same trend exists in the market income inequality. It has an
indication on functioning families, where there occurs a high
comparison of revenue variation. It accompanies sensible levels
of reallocation of resources. The similarities as mentioned
above depicts that the citizens of the US as a whole often
swings from dependence on market income. Instead, they
majorly rely on the income transfers in the subsequent lives
than the other advanced states (Cancian & Danziger, 2009).
Despite the demerits of inequality in the US, one advantage is
that it accelerates fairness to the federal government of the US.
Most of the economists point to the fact that economic
inequality is just to a given state than a nation that experiences
an equivalent general dissemination of fortune. The point of the
argument is that free markets often advance given economic
inequalities unsurprisingly. Afterwards, there exists a
requirement of utmost exploitation of particular redistributive
strategies. Given strategies involve progressive taxes. In
general, this given point tries to explain that in economic
inequality, it often requires captivating resources from the
wealthy, and redistributing it to the poor (Meissner, 1977).
On the other hand, there occurs an affiliation between income
inequality and crime in the US. Economic inequality has
resulted in in-depth rates of crime. The scarcity of resources
and employment opportunities leads to the low-income earners
top indulge in criminal activities. Most of the youths in the US
own arsenals that comprise from daggers, guns, and other drug-
related weapons. It also leads to the State experiencing
continuous crimes mostly from the teenagers. In conclusion,
economic inequality gradually leads to the depreciation of the
economy of the federal government. It is an issue that requires
utmost responses to counter its effects (Cancian & Danziger,
2009).

Recent research indicates a comparison of the income inequality in the US collectively with other advanced countries. However, there is an indication of relatively high variation of inequality after taxes and given transfers. It is a sign that after taxation process, the federal swings a significant amount of payment from upper-income families. On the other hand, there exists a reduction in income to minor income homes. Similarly, the same trend exists in the market income inequality. It has an indication on functioning families, where there occurs a high comparison of revenue variation. It accompanies sensible levels of reallocation of resources. The similarities as mentioned above depicts that the citizens of the US as a whole often swings from dependence on market income. Most of the economists point to the fact that economic inequality is just to a given state than a nation that experiences an equivalent general dissemination of fortune. The point of the argument is that free markets often advance given economic inequalities unsurprisingly. Afterwards, there exists a requirement of utmost exploitation of particular redistributive strategies. Given strategies involve progressive taxes. In general, this given point tries to explain that in economic inequality, it often requires captivating resources from the wealthy, and redistributing it to the poor (Meissner, 1977). On the other hand, there occurs an affiliation between income inequality and crime in the US. Economic inequality has resulted in in-depth rates of crime. The scarcity of resources and employment opportunities leads to the low-income earners top indulge in criminal activities. Most of the youths in the US own arsenals that comprise from daggers, guns, and other drug- related weapons. It also leads to the State experiencing continuous crimes mostly from the teenagers. In conclusion, economic inequality gradually leads to the depreciation of the economy of the federal government. It is an issue that requires utmost responses to counter its effects (Cancian & Danziger, 2009). References Cancian, M. & Danziger, S. (2009). Changing poverty, changing policies.
