      Leadership has been described as a process of social
    influence in which one person can enlist the aid and
    support of others in the accomplishment of a common
    task.
Characteristics of a Leader


1.   Integrity.
2.   Inspiring and Optimist.
3.   Enthusiastic and Courageous.
4.   Leading by Example.
5.   Charisma.

Most influential people in the world.
Co-founder of Microsoft company.
Windows is 92% in the operating system market.
Time magazine named Gates one of the 100 people
who most influenced 20th century.
Education and way from childhood


  Started from Lakeside School, private school.
  Getting Introduced to computer.
  Wrote first computer program at the age of 13.
  Got into partnership with Paul Allen.
  In 1973, Gates entered Harvard University as a freshman
  and drop out in the middle.
Path-Goal theory analysis


The theory was developed to describe the way that leaders
   encourage and support their followers in achieving the goals
   they have been set by making the path that they should take
   clear and easy.
 In particular, Leaders Clarify the path so subordinates know
   which way to go.
1. Remove roadblocks that are stopping them going there.
2. Increasing the rewards along the route.

 Path-goal theory suggests two classes of contingency
   variables that moderate the leadership behavior-outcome
   relationship :


 1. Environmental and contingency factors.

 2. Sub-ordinate contingency factors.
Charismatic Leadership:



In Dubrin’s book on leadership he suggests that charisma
  “involves a relationship between the leader and the
  people being led”.
