2. Gas Boilers are known for their saving money & energy quality. Though inefficient boilers should be avoided for the betterment. It is durable if maintained properly. Lot of modifications have been made to make these boilers absolutely perfect. Among these, one such plus point is its hot surface igniter, which helps in avoiding the pilot completely. Getting energized electronically, the igniter ignites the gas instantly. The vent dampers in them prevents excess loss of heat in the flue when the main burner is switched off.

3. Types of Gas Boilers Conventional Gas Boilers Heats the water which is burn fuel in a combustion chamber surrounded by a water jacket. This heats the water, which is then dispersed around the heating system. Though its not necessary that all heat produced would be used for this purpose as mostly its lost to the surrounding air. Therefore, condensing boilers extract more heat from fuels.

Combination Gas Boilers Combination boilers provide both instant hot water and central heating, but not at the same time - they are "hot water priority", which means that when hot water is being run there is no heat output to the radiators. This also means they have low water rate, so they can only feed one tap at a time.

5. Provide two things at the same time & instant hot water and central heating. They do not occupy much space. Their installation is not at all complicated. Though they are quite expensive when it comes to their maintenance.

7. System Boilers Are equipped with extras built in necessary to fit to a sealed & fully pumped system. They are larger in size but their installation is absolutely easy. They are cheap & dependable boilers. However, their installation will give one a run for their money!

8. A system boiler is like a low water content boiler, but have all the necessary extras built in to fit to a sealed, fully pumped system. Provides central heating and hot water via a storage cylinder housed in an airing cupboard - no need for water tanks in the loft, as with an open vent boiler.

9. Benefits of System Boilers: High flow rate for domestic hot water No tank(s) in loft More than one hot tap / shower can easily operate at same time Disadvantages: Hot water is not instant. Once the water in the storage cylinder runs out you have to wait for it to reheat. Need to find space for the cylinder (usually an airing cupboard)
