BSLI was established in 2000.
It is a joint venture between the Aditya Birla Group and
Sun Life Financial Inc.
It ranks amongst the top 7 private life insurance
companies in the country.
It was the first Indian Insurance Company to introduce
"Free Look Period" and the same was made mandatory
by IRDA.
BSLI also enjoys the prestige to be the originator of
practice to disclose portfolio on monthly basis.

investment so as to earn more return and also tax

8. CHALLENGES FACED IN THE
INTERNSHIP
Some of the respondents were not cooperative.
Some respondents were scared that if they share their
details they might get in trouble.
It was tough to make people realise that I was only
taking a survey.
Some people were not able to understand few
questions in the client survey form.
It was also challenging to go and ask people to help fill
the questionnaire as they all were busy in their work.
9. OBSERVATIONS AND FINDINGS
Most investors opted for many sources of information to
make investment decisions.
Percentage of income that they invest depend on their
annual income, more the income more percentage of
income they invest.
71% of the people preferred investment in the short
term and Medium Term.
Most Investors prefer to park their funds in avenues like
Life Insurance, FD, Gold and Real Estate.
Almost all the people surveyed didn’t have knowledge
about Term Plan
Most of the investors get their information related to
investment through electronic media.
10. SUGGESTIONS
The company should intensively promote the products.
It is recommended that investors decision should not
be based on their broker advice.
Put up ATM’s in different areas so that premium can be
collected across the country.
There should be a particular product, which can be
termed as Fixed Deposit Insurance product.
The company should also make effort in advertising
through city Cable Channel as covered by its banners
on the highway or other crowded areas.
