Have you ever looked at all the gaming content available on the internet and realized that we’re in a golden age. It used to be that once you played a game long enough, it was over. It would just be repetition and if you wanted anything new you would have to wait for a sequel. But thanks to the power of the modding community, you can enhance your game indefinitely with any of the thousands of video game mods out there. Here are five of the greatest.
1. Top 5 PC Game Mods
Have you ever looked at all the gaming content available
on the internet and realized that we’re in a golden age. It
used to be that once you played a game long enough, it
was over. It would just be repetition and if you wanted
anything new you would have to wait for a sequel. But
thanks to the power of the modding community, you can
enhance your game indefinitely with any of the
thousands of video game mods out there. Here are five
of the greatest.
2. 5. Skyrim Warzones
Skyrim is one of the greatest games in history,
partially because it was born in a time where the
modding community is so active. I could make this
entire list about Skyrim mods alone, but I'm going to
just pick one. The Warzones mod turns the land of
Skyrim into a massive battlefield. This mod is
perfect if you prefer more fighting in your
adventures. You can grab the Warzones mod here.
3. 4. Left 4 Dead 2: Teletubbies
Ah, good ol' Left 4 Dead 2. It's one of my all time favorite
zombie games and confirmed my status as a fan of Valve.
Because of the game's ability to change enemy
placements and map geography, it already has a huge
replay value. But just when I thought I was getting tired
of it I found something more satisfying to kill than
zombies: Teletubbies. I hated these little monsters as a
kid. Now that I'm older, I can mow them down with an
4. M16. Unsurprisingly, these creeps are a bit harder to kill
than your average infected. You can start your
Teletubbie killing spree by downloading the mod here.
3. The Stanley Parable
Like many of the most popular video games out there,
most of the items on this list are pretty violent. If you’d
rather have an interesting narrative than a bunch of
blood, you should check out The Stanley Parable. This
Half Life 2 mod is about Stanley, an office worker who
decides to wander around his curiously empty office
5. building and explore. It may not sound like much but this
game has gotten a lot of high praise from gamers all
over. You can go check it out here.
2. Cry of Fear
There's no shortage of Half Life and Half Life 2.
Thanks to Valve being such a good sport about
mods, there are dozens of mods that create entirely
different experiences. If you search you'll find new
shooters, interactive stories and even horror games.
The last one is exactly what Cry of Fear is. You wake
6. up in the game in a dark alley, and you have to
piece together the mysteries of the terrifying world
you've found yourself in. Jump into Cry of Fear here.
1. Day Z
Day Z is a mod for the military simulator Arma II.
This is number one on the list because this mod
didn't just change the game, it made a whole new
7. game that became a huge internet phenomenon.
Day Z is the best zombie survival MMO out there,
and will soon get a standalone release. The game
puts you in the middle of the aftermath of a zombie
apocalypse. The place is swarming with Zed, but the
bigger threat is other players, who often won't
hesitate to shoot you down for a canteen of water.
You can download DayZ here.
