2. DEFINITION
Treaty of Trianon was a peace agreement signed in 1920, between
Hungary and the Allies at the end of the First World War.

Why was there a delay in the signing
of this treaty?

It was not signed until a communist uprising was supressed by a right-
wing dictatorship.

Was the treaty harsh on Hungary?

Yes. It lost 2/3 of its territory and inhabitants, it was made liable for
reparations and the Hungarian army was limited to 35,000 men.
