2. Why drive to Toronto when you can take the GO train? It’s much less stress. Photos, random thoughts, observations and questions from a day trip to Toronto

3. Union station looks much grander once you are outside. Inside it’s a zoo.

4. One of the first sights is the impressive gold imbedded glass tower of the Royal Bank building. Yes, that’s gold in that glass. It’s a bank.

5. The next impulse is to search for the CN Tower. Yep, it’s still there dominating the skyline. Looks impressive even on a cloudy day.

6. I’ve been to downtown Toronto thousands of times and I still look up at the towers of glass, concrete and steel.

8. Metro Hall, the seat of the former Toronto regional government. What do they use it for now?

9. Toronto’s finest on the job or texting?

10. Toronto street art or graffiti?

11. Urban landscaping?

12. Cement trucks and giant signs – a sign of investment, construction and jobs

13. Construction cranes – jobs, money, more towers and condominiums

14. Ruth’s Chris Steak House – apparently a good place to get an exquisite steak despite the tongue twisting name

15. TTC – the better way to get around Toronto – fast, efficient, safe and mostly clean

16. The Canada Life Building – apparently the tower and top floors have been closed for decades. I wonder if it’s haunted?

17. A street person not yet ready for the day

18. Curved glass building – the old Ontario Hydro building. What do they call it now?

19. Queen’s Park – the legislative assembly – the seat of Ontario provincial government. Should I stop in to see if everything is running OKAY?

20. I think it’s a garbage can but I’m not sure. Might need to read the manual first.

23. Did a space ship crash into the ROM? Or is this a crystalline fungus growing out of the Royal Ontario Museum?

25. The longest street in Canada, Yonge St. A gazillion miles long. It feels that way when you walk from Bloor to Front Street.

33. Scan the bank towers of Toronto. No sign of Spiderman, Daredevil or Fantastic Four. Darn.

36. Another day visit to Toronto. So many sights to notice. Nice to visit. Glad to leave. Looking forward to visiting again.
