We were founded in 1995 out of the need for neutral, evidence-based data for the legislature (only in session 40 days/year). Began as Coalition for Health, comprised of consumers, providers, business and government: Georgia Health Decisions, citizen-based research organizationGeorgia Healthcare Provider Council, major provider-based organizationsGeorgia Business Forum on Health, affiliate of the Georgia Chamber of CommerceGeorgia’s public sector, including state and local governmentsand health-related agencies and institutionsJoined GSU in 1996, as part of College of HHS. Now a research center within the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies.Karen Minyard, Executive Director of the GHPC, is also an Associate Research Professor in the PMAP department.
