1. Pemantauan hasil pengukuran overall getaran di pompa vakum 2GB-401B
   menunjukkan trend kenaikan. Ini bisa dilihat di Gambar-1 di bawah ini:

  Trend kenaikan overall getaran dimulai tanggal 16 Mei 2005 (tanda panah
merah).

2. Bila dilihat di spectrum yang ada maka terlihat seperti adanya “looseness” di
   pompa di posisi 8. Terlihat di Gambar-2 (BCU) dan Gambar-3 (spectrum)
   terjadi harmonik rotor pompa sampai ~11x. Muncul juga 0.5x, 1.5x-nya. Juga
   tampak ada peningkatan “noise floor” di spectrum tersebut. Hal ini
   menunjukkan adanya looseness. Amplitudo masih di bawah 1 mm/s RMS

        3. Mengacu ke trend getaran overall pada Gambar-1, terlihat kenaikan yang
           signifikan, pengecekan spectrum secara umum masih dibawah 2.81 mm/s
           RMS. Pengecekan selanjutnya adalah melihat trend BCU (Bearing Condition
           Unit) dan spectra dari BCS (Bearing Condition Signature) serta spectra di SED
(Selective Envelopping Detection) di posisi 8V dan 8H, maka terlihat kenaikan
  yang cukup signifikan dan juga muncul BPFO yang disertai juga dengan
  sideband baik di sisi atas maupun sisi bawah. Bearing sudah masuk dalam
  kategori kerusakan Stage-3. Ini bisa dilihat di Gambar-4, Gambar-5, Gambar-
  6.

4. Pada Gambar-4 di atas, pada tanggal 16 Mei 2005, masalah di bearing di
   posisi 8 mulai menunjukkan severity yang meningkat. Puncaknya adalah
   tanggal 20 Juni 2005. Kemudian pada tanggal 23 Juni 2005, severity di
   bearing tersebut mulai jenuh/saturated.

  Inilah mengapa pompa 2GB-401A tetap dijalankan selain untuk melihat
  perubahan yang terjadi terhadap kondisi bearing juga untuk menerapkan
  philosophy dari PdM yaitu if It’s running, don’t fix it

  Kejenuhan ini diikuti dengan munculnya FTF dari bearing tersebut serta
  harmoniknya dan juga sideband-sideband dari BPFO mulai turun/hilang. Hal
  ini tampak jelas di Gambar-7 .

5. Untuk selanjutnya, pada Gambar-4 BCU trending, terlihat penurunan spectra
   BCU sesudah pompa 2GB-401A di overhaul. Data diukur tanggal 22 Agustus
   2005 dengan nilai 0.3896 BCU p-p yang sebelumnya mencapai 6.3567 BCU p-
   p pada tanggal 20 Juni 2005.

6. Pada Gambar-8 dan Gambar-9 di atas, bisa dilihat spectrum dan BCU
   spectra dari pompa vakum 2GB-401A di posisi 8V. Warna biru adalah
   spectrum dari bearing yang baru dan warna merah adalah spectrum
   bearing yang bermasalah.

7. Gambar-10 di bawah ini adalah bearing yang bermasalah. Bearing pompa
   tersebut adalah jenis tappered merk Timken 71000 seri. Terjadi “flaking” pada
   bearing tersebut. Ini dikarenakan adanya gaya axial yang berlebihan dan
   juga adanya benda asing (air) yang masuk ke dalam sistem pelumasan
   pada pompa 2GB-401A. Pada saat di overhaul, ditemukan kesalahan
   pemasangan lock nut bearing terlalu tight. Seharusnya ada clearance
   sebesar 0.05 mm untuk mengakomodir bearing sehingga dapat float pada
   saat ada gaya thrust axial.
