4. GWP Youth Strategy will
• Guide GWP in deepening its engagement with youth organizations as
partners, and in supporting young water professionals, young leaders,
technical actors and entrepreneurs in the water sector.
• Be built by Youth for Youth ! ()
• Consist of strategic goals, accompanied by a proposed set of actions
• Serve as a concise framework for future engagement of GWP’s global
network with youth, in particular through ‘Youth Action Plans’

 Presentation at YWP Conference
 Youth Consultation meeting in Gaborone

• Goal 1 – Catalysing change through integrating youth in the water
sector
 enhance the participation of youth in water resource management
processes and good governance by supporting the activities of local
youth organizations, with technical as well as strategy advice and
support
• Goal 2 – Developing capacity beyond generations
• Goal 3 – Empowering Youth to become agents of change
• Goal 4 – Building intergenerational partnerships

• Goal 1 – Catalysing change through integrating youth in the water
sector
• Goal 2 – Developing capacity beyond generations
 organize seminars and workshops for young water professionals to
stimulate exchange between young water professionals, between young
and senior professionals which stimulates life-long-learning and contributes
to ensure that capacity building is a continuous process
 Integrate Youth in the Knowledge Chain
• Goal 3 – Empowering Youth to become agents of change
• Goal 4 – Building intergenerational partnerships

 partner with relevant youth networks, to set up funds for providing small
grant opportunities to young entrepreneurs with water sector projects
 assist national and international institutions in developing financing
plans for youth entrepreneurship in water resources management
 assist youth to formalize associations, in order to enhance their
legitimacy and enable them to receive public funds and/or enter into
valid contracts with other public institutions, e.g., municipalities
