                                 Websites Resource List

The aim of this list is to provide some indication as to where online resources are available
to assist schools in the teaching and resourcing of IGCSE Global Perspectives.

Please note:

   •   Many of the sites which have been included may include resources and ideas for
       more than one of the areas of study.

   •   The content of internet websites is dynamic and constantly changing. Whilst CIE
       has taken appropriate steps to try to ensure the sites listed are appropriate, CIE
       accepts no responsibility for the content of any of the sites included in this list.
       Centres are strongly advised to check each site for content and accessibility prior
       to using with students.

   •   CIE will endeavour to update this list regularly and welcomes up-to-date additions

LINKING/SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS- PROJECT WORK
Making a formal link with a partner school abroad can help in devising project work.

Rafi.ki is free to schools outside the UK and provides a way to create international
partnerships and has resources for projects. It has sections on finding a partner, the
projects that schools could work on, communication tools e.g. audio and video
conferencing and guidance on secure communications for students.

UK Department for International Development site for linking schools. Links are available
with schools both inside and outside the UK.

IGCSE GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES Websites Resource List The aim of this list is to provide some indication as to where online resources are available to assist schools in the teaching and resourcing of IGCSE Global Perspectives. Please note: • Many of the sites which have been included may include resources and ideas for more than one of the areas of study. • The content of internet websites is dynamic and constantly changing. Whilst CIE has taken appropriate steps to try to ensure the sites listed are appropriate, CIE accepts no responsibility for the content of any of the sites included in this list. Centres are strongly advised to check each site for content and accessibility prior to using with students. • CIE will endeavour to update this list regularly and welcomes up-to-date additions and suggestions from Centres teaching IGCSE Global Perspectives. 1

This site provides reviews of 350 teaching resources for 14-16 year-olds (books, films, websites etc). Section B LINKING/SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS- PROJECT WORK Making a formal link with a partner school abroad can help in devising project work. http://www.rafi.ki/about.php Rafi.ki is free to schools outside the UK and provides a way to create international partnerships and has resources for projects. It has sections on finding a partner, the projects that schools could work on, communication tools e.g. audio and video conferencing and guidance on secure communications for students. www.globalgateway.org UK Department for International Development site for linking schools. Links are available with schools both inside and outside the UK. www.ukowla.org.uk A UK based charity helping communities make international links. www.bbc.co.uk/worldclass/ A BBC website aimed at supporting schools who wish to make international links. www.etwinning.net Website for linking schools based in the European Community. http://www.britishcouncil.org/learning-connecting-classrooms.htm Advice on linking between UK and international schools.
