2. Getting to know my target audience(s)
Who is (are) my target audience?
The target audience that I have chosen for this advertisement are young people (boys) aged
between 13 to 19. My decision for choosing this target audience is that I already know what my
target audience want as I am in that age group.
What is the demographics of my target audience?
For this advert is mainly students so they'll be around E or D which are unemployed, students,
casual workers, semi-skilled or unskilled manual workers.
Which Psychographics group are you thinking of building your advert around and what rough
ideas have you got for making an effective advert that will appeal to your target audience?
I am going to choose are explorers because they seek discovery, energy, individualism and
experience. They have the need for adventure which is what I want for my trainers. I want
people to explore this new trainer and have an adventure with it. Explorers also like to be first
to try new brands. So, it's like the audience want to be the first people to get their hands on this
amazing pair trainers. The needs of my target audience is that they have the need for
prominence which is that that they want to be admired and to be respected; to have a high
social status. They also have they need for attention which means that they want people to
notice them like they want to be looked at. The last need that they want is the need to escape
which means that they can imagine adventures that you may not have like the idea of escape is
pleasurable.
3. Model Name
I have chosen the model name ARROW because it sounds cool and
also it connotates the idea that if you wear," Street Arrow ,” you will be
as fast as an arrow – or maybe faster. Another reason why I chose this
model name is because if you think of the word arrow you instantly get
a sense of rapidness and the idea that you are aiming for only ONE
thing. I believe I can create a good advert for this model of leisure shoe
because when you think of the word ARROW you get some sort of
visual imagery that pops up in your head.
5. Slogans
Some possible slogans that I have come up with are:
• Arrow is the way up
• Nothing better like Arrow
• Arrow, on top of everything
• Get right with arrow
• There’s a bit of Arrow in all of us
• Nobody does it like arrow- This is the slogan I am going to use.
• Pure Arrow. Pure Power.
• If you don’t care, Arrow does
• Nail it up with Arrow
• Mmmmmhhh…. ARROW
6. Unique Selling Point
• My unique Selling Point of my trainers are:
• High Quality
• Good Quality
• Affordable
• Seeks Attention to anyone’s eyes
• Everyone wants it
• Looks cool
Overall I believe my USP will appeal to my target audience and possibly
secondary audience because its not going to be expensive so people with a
lot of money will only be able to buy, it is a reasonable price. Also If it seeks
attention obviously people are going to want this amazing trainer that will also
look cool .
7. Model – Yes/No
• I do not intend to use a model because I prefer to leave my advert on its own
and put some effects to it using Photoshop.
8. Use of colour
• Possible use of colours are blue, white, black, green, red, and some
colours on the darker and maybe some colours like red on the brighter
coloured side. There will be NO pink colours because the colour pink is
more girly and it will only be suitable or appeal to girls. I believe that it
will attract my target audience - young people (boys) aged 13 to 19 –
because boys usually prefer trainers that are stand out and also shoes
that stand out amongst other trainers. The colours like blue, white, red
etc stand out and make it more eye-catching.
