7. Project Assignment & Result
Task 1. Obsolescence - Rounds Limit Switches (RLS)
Evaluated current specification drawings and existing designs
to improve material selections and developed Pro-E designs
for assembly build-to-print drawings to meet environmental
and the part performance requirements for Warner Robins
Air Logistics Command. Performed product qualification by
analysis and verification by cycle test and fire test. Designed
new mechanical 5 rounds reverse clearing hysteresis for A-10
RLS. Also, completed new designs for F-16 and F-15 aircraft.
8. Project Assignment & Result
Task 2. Specification of Servo System Components
Evaluated mechanical dynamic loads of ammunition handling
control systems to determine effects of system inertia and
acceleration & speed requirements to meet time lines for the
test case scenarios. Optimized servo motor performance for
size and weight. Performance met gun firing timeline on the
Crusader Self-propelled Howitzer and the ammo field supply
mission of the Resupply Vehicle. Also, designed custom brakes
and clutches for x-y-x ammunition supply shuttles and custom
transmitter and receiver optical sensor pair to determine the
ammo position on the conveyors.
9. Project Assignment & Result
Task 3. JSF Aircraft Cables for Lockheed Martin
Designed aircraft military interface cables to meet customer
requirements for light-weight construction materials while
meeting the high temperature specs, the functional electrical
system performance, and the EMI test requirements. Cables
met EMI under electrical system loads. Also, designed other
dynamic cables (based on my own method for isolating the
cable components to allow independent movement) for the
JSF 20mm Gatling guns to meet rigors of gun firing and recoil.
10. Project Assignment & Result
Task 4. Create EFV Software Test Plan & Test Cases
Based on EFV turret system specifications for ammo handling
system, developed the software test plan and test cases for
the embedded control unit firmware to meet system level
and derived requirements.Validated the bench-top system
performance using servo motor loads. System improvements
made in incremental releases. Part of electrical project team
that developed the electronic digital control unit, firmware,
motors, cables, and test equipment for ammo feed system.
The embedded control unit worked successfully on the EFV.
11. Project Assignment & Result
Task 5. Debugged and Repaired Test Equipment
Performed troubleshooting on inoperable CIWS production
test panel that was severely damaged during transportation.
Rebuilt cables and also ruggedized the design.Verified signal
timing functionality with a digital storage scope. Performed
validation to QC Acceptance Procedures. The test panel was
returned for production verification of CIWS circuit cards.
Also debugged AV-8B test set, with its case severely damaged
from years of field use. Specified and quoted parts BOM for
repairs. Performed validation to QC Acceptance Procedures.
