A Blend of East & West
About Us Swanmum Educational Services was founded in 2001. Since then, We have helped numerous international students integrate into the educational system and culture of Singapore. Have you ever considered overseas education for yourself or your loved ones? Singapore might just be the right place for you 
Singapore A glimpse of the city…    Singapore gained its independence in 1965. Spanning a period of only 44 years, it has become one of the wealthiest and most developed countries in the world. Additional information about this island-state can be obtained by clicking here  (Source: http://www.singaporemirror.com.sg/)
Singapore An Educational Hub Singapore is geographically located at the heart of South-east Asia. With its strategic location and first class infrastructure, this nation has been developed into a prime hub for both businesses and education. Currently, there are about 70,000 foreign students residing here in Singapore and this is estimated to increase to 150,000 in 5 years time. (Source: http://www.buyusa.gov/asianow/seducation.html)
The 5 main reasons why parents choose Singapore
5 Main Reasons 1)   A peaceful and safe country With a high level of security and governance, parents enjoy a peace of mind when sending their precious ones to Singapore.
5 Main Reasons 2) This is where cultural diversity is celebrated. With 51 different people groups living together, this country serves as a microcosm for students to experience and appreciate the different  cultures of the world.
5 Main Reasons 3)   High quality of education Our certification is well recognised globally which allows students to pursue further education in other parts of the world like the UK, USA or European countries.
5 Main Reasons 4) High quality of life In terms of quality of life, Singapore is tops in Asia and No.32 in the world, according to the annual Mercer Human Resource Consulting survey in 2008. Singapore has also been in par with world-class technology as well as infrastructure and these enable the nation to stay competitive globally.
5 Main Reasons 5) Singapore is equally proficient in English and Chinese By living and studying in a bilingual environment, students can easily learn the 2 most used languages of the world in everyday life. This gives them a cutting-edge advantage when they step into the workforce.
Literacy Rate in Singapore (Source: http://www.singstat.gov.sg/pubn/papers/people/c2000adr-literacy.pdf)
Singapore A blend of East and West Singapore is the only country in the world that is equally proficient in English and Chinese. 76.4% of the population is of Chinese origin and about 50% of which are both literate in English and Chinese. The environment itself is an ideal training ground for the next generation to gain a competitive edge globally. (Source: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/15/national/15chinese.html?_r=1) “ The limits of my language mean the limits of my world”
Bridging your World The Chinese Language Chinese is the world's most spoken language with over one billion speakers. 1 of out 5 persons in the world speaks Chinese. As China emerges as a major economic and political influence, and an increasing cultural force, the interest in the study of Chinese has dramatically increased in American schools and will continue to soar exponentially over the next decade.   (Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/education-articles/)
Bridging your World Students learning Mandarin Chinese in traditional U.S. schools swelled from an estimated 5,000 to 50,000 between 2000 and 2005. - American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages "By ignoring critical languages such as Chinese and the essential cultural knowledge needed to succeed, our school systems are out of step with new global realities,“ - Charles E.M. Kolb, president of the Committee for Economic Development (http://cococs.org/articles/CCTimes_article_Mar23_07.html) (http://www.china-embassy.org/eng/xw/t205822.htm) "Interest in learning Chinese among American youth and their parents has grown dramatically in the past five years," - Vivien Stewart, vice president at the Asia Society
