8. Lesson Plan Overview
TTW (The Teacher Will)– Begin with a discussion of
artist Edgar Degas.
TTW- For each Math riddle ask the students about
the piece that assists each riddles.
ASW ( All Students Will)- use creative language to
describe each work of art.
ASW- Have three seconds to solve each riddle.
ASW- Solve the Math Riddle.
ASW- Will explain the solution using a basic fact
strategies.
ASW- Practice creating their own math riddles.
9. Edgar Degas(1834-1917)
Degas was a French artist famous for his work in
painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. He
is regarded as one of the founders of
Impressionism. A superb draughtsman, he is
especially identified with the subject of the
dance, and over half his works depict dancers.
These display his mastery in the depiction of
movement. His portraits are considered to be
among the finest in the history of art.
