2. Introduction
Hi my name is Robert Hillard-Linney you should know me by now and I
have created ideas and concept for a video game that I will be showing
to you shortly.
3. The game is going to be a FPS and is interchangeable with Third person Throughout
the game.
The game will be a standard shooter and you will be able to change the androids
armour skin and powers.
Some of the power are super jump, better strength and more dangerous bigger and
power fuller weapons.
4. Description
With death and loss there is deep emotional bonds between my character and the
people playing as him. Most games show loss as you dying in the level and having to
restart it. In my game player will not be able to avoid and change the great losses
that will occur, the loss will feel real and will have an impact on the players. Every
action will have a reaction and players will have difficult choices to make that have
actual consequences.
The way you play the game will change throughout and how you ultimately decide
to play will change the outcomes and endings without being able to go back and
change what you already have done.
The gameplay will take an approach where you are free to move around and to
what tasks you want when ether it suits you. Whether you are attacking a squad of
police or just finding an object of power or ability you can always change that
decision in the middle of doing it.
The approach we have taken to create this game is different to any that has been
seen before and we hope that people will enjoy the changes to the storyline and
gameplay that we have created to make this new experience.
5. Story –
My story is about a manufactured android CT – 27 5555 and his story about being free
and wanting to escape from the lives of human beings. Created as a servant droid to
aid and complete tasks of a human he always felt there was something else beyond his
programming.
As he found out what it means to be free he will come to hard and unchangeable
decisions throughout in his time in the city. 5555 will be tested with the trials and
errors of human life as he finds his freedom and mortality. The great metropolis will
test his faith and shake his beliefs of what he thought this perfect city was created for.
Many challenges lie in his way and he must accomplish all of them to escape from this
world that he knew little about.
6. Genre -
The genre of my game is going to be Action, Adventure the reason for this is
because I wanted people to enjoy my futuristic world and be able to travel
where ether they want and enjoy every little detail of the metropolis that I built
for my game.
Choosing my game also to be an action title was an easy decision as I felt that
games without action don’t draw in as big as a audience and will lack in sales of
my game.
7. Inspiration –
The inspiration for this game came from other games and films that I loved to
watch as a kid, films like star wars helped with the creation of my game as I always
loved the future metropolises like Coruscant that star wars gave me as a kid. I also
took inspiration from I robot where the robots revolt against humanity.
Games like watch dogs gave me inspiration for the aspect of someone who hides in
the shadows and is on the run from the authorities. Also elements from games like
assassins creed and halo were inspiration for my game.
8. Platform –
I want my game to be featured on PC, Xbox and Play station. The reason for this
decision is because it will draw in a wider range of people who enjoy these types of
games and because it will help with sales for the game because a lot of fans of gaming
feel that it is unfair sometimes that games are restricted to one platform or two, but by
placing it on the 3 major platforms there will be no disagreements and make people
dislike having to buy the game for a specific games console.
9. Target Audience
I am looking for people aged around 16 and over the reason for this is because my
game will feature a lot of violence and strong language. It would be a 18 but I
thought that it would draw in a larger crowd of people if I lowered the age rating.
I also chose to target the older audiences as it is quite a technical game and has a
lot of emotion that may not get across to the younger audiences.
10.
11. Market research –
I took a survey and placed it on survey monkey from this I gathered 20 responses from my
questionnaire. From this data I interpreted the answers I got for each of the question.
One of the question of my survey said.
Would you buy any of these games?
Knights of the old republic - 7
Halo 3 ODST - 3
Prototype - 6
Crysis - 4
None - 0
I chose these games in relevance to the world my game is set in. I found these results to
be very helpful as it showed that my setting would be a good place to build my game
around.
12. These are some other question that I had in my
survey. Some of these question had relevance to
my game like how many hours do you play games.
This was an important question as my game is a
large title and will mean that you will have to put a
lot of hours into it.
My results showed a positive
response as the participants
mostly directed there
answers into the direction of
the features of my game.
