2. CAMERA WORK
The screen grab on the left hand side
shows a close up of the product from
McDonalds. This has been used to
exaggerate made visible to the
audience how the ‘Quarter Pounder’
actually looks and what exactly it is
that is having such a bad effect on his
body.
The screen grab on the right is a mid
shot of the man taking on the
‘Supersize Me’ challenge. It is clearly
used to get both the man and the
burger he is bought in the same shot.
The picture above shows a close up of
the McDonalds sign to grab the
audiences attention and represent the
company that the programme is based
on. It is also used to inform the audience
of the company and could be used as a
warning to customers. The screenshot taken below is another
mid shot. This time representing a
chicken nugget shaped as a foot. It is
another close up used to represent
another McDonalds product.
3. CAMERA WORK (2)
This shot above. Is a tracking shot. Used
following the food up the stairs whilst he
complains about how he is feeling. The
camera work is focused on the food
during this point to show what is causing
the damage.
The shot above is a two shot. It has been
used to allow room for both the man and
the doctor in the same shot, whilst
describing the effects of the challenge.
The screen grab above shows the
man with his McDonalds meal. It
could be used to emphasize how
much is actually there and all of the
fatty and unhealthy food and drinks.
4. EDITING
Throughout this documentary a variety of different uses
of editing was used. Including fade-in fade-out,
cartoon, shot reverse shot and fast motion.
Fade-in fade-out is used in the documentary to show the
pass of time.
Cartoons where used to make processes in the food
making easier to understand for younger children.
Shot reverse shots where used throughout the
documentary to present different facial expressions
and opinions between the doctor and the man doing
the challenge.
5. MISE EN SCENE
The Mise en Scene of the documentary was
obviously based in and around
McDonalds. As well as the health centre
and his home. Although the documentary
was based on McDonalds the actual
location of McDonalds is varied for
example at one point in the documentary
he travelled to Texas, when the main
basis of it was New York.
