• 14 y/o female
• History of lymphangioma s/p excision in 2006 and left neck mass
noted on 2012
• Sudden enlargement of the left neck with pain and some swallowing
disturbance since about 4-5 days ago.

4. • Failure of lymphatics to connect to the venous system

Complications

10. Sclerotherapy

• Entering the cystic cavity with a direct puncture under radiographic
guidance, aspirating the cystic fluid, and finally injecting the
sclerosant

Case reports show sildenafil can decrease
LM size and alleviate associated symptoms [99, 100]. In a
small, open-label study, sildenafil was shown to have a
therapeutic response in six out of seven patients without
significant side effects [101]. Despite promising results in
many case reports and small studies, other reports have
shown no effect of sildenafil in LMs, and recommend
caution before prescribing sildenafil empirically for LMs
and other vascular anomalies
