Lab: Generating document-style reports
Objectives
At the end of this project you will be able to:
► Generate a document-based report
► Print a report based on a view
Given
► Automated Meter Reader (Water) project (AMR)
Description
► In this lab, you log on as Bob. You generate a document-style report, and then view traceability and audit
history reports.
Exercise tasks
In this exercise, you complete these tasks:
 Task 1: Generating a document-style report document
 Task 2: Print a module view

Task 1: Generating a document-style report document
In this task, you generate an Audit report for the System Requirements module
1. You are in the lab environment All Projects page of the RM application (https://jazz-
server:9443/rm/web). You are logged in as bob with password bob.
2. Navigate to the Automated Meter Reader (Water) project Artifact page.
3. Select 01 Requirements foler, and open module AMR System Requirements Specification
4. Click the Generate a document-style report for this view icon.

5. In the Select the Document-Style Report Type window, click Traceability Report, and then click Next.
6. In the Select the Artifacts window, verify that the requirements are listed, and then click Next.
7. In the Report Information window, provide the following information:
a. For the name, type System Requirements traceability report.
b. For the type, select Adobe PDF.
c. From the Optimize report generation for list, select Performance.
d. For the author name, type Bob.
e. For the company name, type AMR.
f. Leave the Footer Text field blank.
g. From the Start Date, select today
h. Click Next.
8. In the Save Document-Style Report to Project window, you have the option to save the report, encapsulated
within an artifact. This would be useful if you need to access older reports. Don’t save the report. Just click
Next.
9. In the Generate the Document-Style Report window, click Finish.
When the report is generated, you are notified.
10. In the Generate the Document-Style Report window, click Close.
You are prompted to open the report in an external application.
11. Click the link to open the report in Adobe® Reader.
12. Review the report, and then close it.

Task 2: Print a module view
In this task, you print one of your module views
1. In the AMR System Requirements Specification module, you have several view. Select the Trace to
Stakeholder Requirements view.
2. Click on the Create and print button, select Create and Print PDF Document.
3. From the “Create PDF Document” window, select to
a. Include comments,
b. Include attributes,
c. Include titltes of inserted artifacts.
d. For the module layout, select Book.
4. Click OK.
When the report is generated, you are notified.
5. Open the report and review its content.

Lab: Generating document-style reports Objectives At the end of this project you will be able to: ► Generate a document-based report ► Print a report based on a view Given ► Automated Meter Reader (Water) project (AMR) Description ► In this lab, you log on as Bob. You generate a document-style report, and then view traceability and audit history reports. Exercise tasks In this exercise, you complete these tasks:  Task 1: Generating a document-style report document  Task 2: Print a module view

Task 1: Generating a document-style report document In this task, you generate an Audit report for the System Requirements module 1. You are in the lab environment All Projects page of the RM application (https://jazz- server:9443/rm/web). You are logged in as bob with password bob. 2. Navigate to the Automated Meter Reader (Water) project Artifact page. 3. Select 01 Requirements foler, and open module AMR System Requirements Specification 4. Click the Generate a document-style report for this view icon. Figure 1: The Generate a document-style report for this view icon 5. In the Select the Document-Style Report Type window, click Traceability Report, and then click Next. 6. In the Select the Artifacts window, verify that the requirements are listed, and then click Next. 7. In the Report Information window, provide the following information: a. For the name, type System Requirements traceability report. b. For the type, select Adobe PDF. c. From the Optimize report generation for list, select Performance. d. For the author name, type Bob. e. For the company name, type AMR. f. Leave the Footer Text field blank. g. From the Start Date, select today h. Click Next. 8. In the Save Document-Style Report to Project window, you have the option to save the report, encapsulated within an artifact. This would be useful if you need to access older reports. Don’t save the report. Just click Next. 9. In the Generate the Document-Style Report window, click Finish. When the report is generated, you are notified. 10. In the Generate the Document-Style Report window, click Close. You are prompted to open the report in an external application. 11. Click the link to open the report in Adobe® Reader. 12. Review the report, and then close it.

Task 2: Print a module view In this task, you print one of your module views 1. In the AMR System Requirements Specification module, you have several view. Select the Trace to Stakeholder Requirements view. 2. Click on the Create and print button, select Create and Print PDF Document. 3. From the “Create PDF Document” window, select to a. Include comments, b. Include attributes, c. Include titltes of inserted artifacts. d. For the module layout, select Book. 4. Click OK. When the report is generated, you are notified. 5. Open the report and review its content.
