5. Enquiry Desk
Staff at the Enquiry Desk will be happy to help with your loans, library
membership, and provide in-depth help with your study and research
enquiries.
Collect material requested from our
Store here, as well as material
obtained from libraries outside
UCL via the Interlending &
Document Supply service.
6. Self Service
The Library has a Self-service
Issue machine which allows
Library users to borrow or
return books outside of staffed
hours, or, when there are
queues at the Enquiry desk.
You will need your Library
card barcode and PIN to
borrow, return and check your
library account.
7. Desktop@UCL Computers
There is a computer cluster
in front of the Enquiry Desk
for UCL students and staff.
To login, enter your UCL IT
user name and password.
8. GOSH Computers
There are seven computers in the
library linked to the GOSH network.
These dedicated terminals are for
GOSH staff only and require a
GOSH IT login.
9. UCL Explore Library Catalogue
Use Explore Access
points to search UCL’s
Library catalogue in
order to locate books
and other printed
resources, place
interlibrary loan
requests and, request
items from the UCL
Library Stores.
10. Explore Access Points
There are five UCL Explore
Access Points within the
Library where you can access
databases and e-journals.
These can be accessed by all
library users, including GOSH
staff.
Online articles can be saved
from these machines by using
a non-encrypted USB drive.
11. Access to Electronic journals
All journals are kept off site in
UCL’s Store, and can be
requested for consultation
through the UCL Explore
Library catalogue.
Please allow one working day
for delivery to the library,
articles can be collected after
4pm the following working day
from the Library Enquiry
Desk.
12. Photocopy,
Print and Scan: Print@UCL
The Library has one colour and one
black & white multi-functional
Device photocopying, printing or
scanming using the Print@UCL
system.
Scan your UCL ID card to log in to
the machines.

13. Quiet Study Area
The Quiet Study Room the Paediatric, Nursing and Allied health print
collection. This room also has fifty flexible PC-desk stations which are
available for all Library users.
14. Flexible Work Spaces:
PC Station-Desks
There are 105 flexible PC-desk station spaces throughout the
library. The computers conveniently retract into the desk,
providing a desk space which all Library users are welcome to
use, including GOSH staff. You will need a UCL IT Login to use
the PC-desk stations.
16. Group Study Pod
The Library has a bookable
group study pod.

This space can be booked by
GOSH staff, UCL GOS-ICH
and IGH staff and students.

17. Global Health and
Development Collection
The Library also houses the
Global Health and Development
collection, a special collection of
publications that focus on social
and environmental approaches
to global health and
development.
18. As well as the Paediatric, Nursing and Allied Health collection, the Library
also houses the Global Health and Development collection.
Items from both
collections can be found
in UCL Explore and are
available for standard (8
week) loan and can be
borrowed by GOSH staff
(who will be working at
GOSH for 3 months, or
longer), and UCL staff
and students.
19. Eduroam wireless
connection is available
throughout the library to
UCL staff, students and
members of participating
higher education
institutions.

Available for all visitors and
registered Library users from
GOSH. Please ask at the
