3. Focus on cultural aspects The Senegal component of the IFAD 1000 LG had an original focus on researching the cultural aspects of agricultural products. The aim was to highlight the importance of NUS as fundamental part of the socio-cultural system and not only as a source of valuable nutritional elements. This approach responded to the need of involving the most vulnerable and facilitate the participation of the poorest in the complex process from the production to the transformation and the consumption of the product.
