Despite much good writing and doing, the education of engineers is stuck in a cold war time warp. This presentation likens the problem of educational change to an academic NIMBY (not in my backyard) problem. An organizational innovation, called iFoundry, the Illinois Foundry for Innovation in Engineering Education, is described.
