2. Idea 1: Busted – What I Go To School For
This was my initial idea and I have several ideas
that would make this a successful music video. I
would be able to film it in school and use school
friends that would be willing to take part in it. This
genre of music is pop and so it would be easier to
do a video for this genre compared to other genres
of music. I would do this song as both a narrative
and performance. Furthermore it is a very upbeat
song and would keep the viewers interested. The
problem with this idea is that I would need to find
suitable people that would be committed to being
filmed.
3. Shot Ideas
Would have close ups of the singers sitting at their school desks
wearing school uniforms, singing into the camera. Like this
video their school uniforms would be all scruffy with their ties low
down or possibly round their head and the sleeves ripped off.
There would be shots set in school and offsite, such as in this
photo where they are performing with their guitars with the
school in the background.
There would be different shots focusing on the setting, such as
of the clock in the classroom, the board, and the car park,.
Another idea I have is to film it
looking down a corridor with the
singers performing with other
students in the background.
4. Idea 2: Rizzle Kicks – When I Was A
Youngster
My second idea is to do another pop song. This
song is very upbeat and discusses the topic of
being young, having fun and what you wanted to
be when you’re older. Using this song would make
an interesting music video as it is energetic and
could be set in different locations, just showing
friends having fun, playing games and having a
good time. I would like to film this over summer
when the weather is nice to match the positive,
energetic atmosphere that this song gives.
5. Shot Ideas
For some parts of the song I would have the singers singing into the camera
wearing costumes, as this links to the topic of the song where they’re young
and acting like children.
It would be set in different locations, such
as in a park with the singers mucking
about in the play area, playing football as
well as just sitting on a bench.
I would use a shot similar to this with my singers pretending to play
on a game console, looking at the camera and singing at the same
time. Throughout the video they would doing different activities that
children would get up to, like riding around on bikes, dressing up
and colouring with crayons.
I will use a lot of props in my video, such as different costumes,
equipment for child activities, E.g – bikes, crayons, footballs, as
well as instruments, such as a drum kit and guitar.
6. Idea 3: Ed Sheeran - Sing
This music video would be easier to do
than the other ideas as it involves less
people. Once again it is upbeat and the
genre of this song is a mix between indie
and pop. This video could be set in a
studio and on other locations as well.
When set on other locations it would
most likely be shot at night time as in the
song it talks about going to clubs and
meeting women so to follow this theme it
would be set at night. This video would
involve a provocative female.
7. Shot Ideas
A lot of close contact between the main singer and a
provocative female, such as over the shoulder shots, two
shots and close ups.
There would also be studio shots with the singer playing guitar
as the song has an acoustic guitar playing in the background.
The video would be set in different locations and would be shot
at night time as the lyrics talk about going to clubs, drinking
alcohol and sleeping with women.
I may have different lighting and colour for this video,
have some parts of it with a dark background and a
minimal amount of light on the singer, then change to a
light background with the singer really dark.
