3. RATIONALE
Replacement / Restoration of lost teeth
has post challenges since time
immemorial.
The needs are different:
-Completely edentulous
-Partial edentulous
-Others

6. OSSEO INTEGRATION
… Is a histologic definition meaning “ a
direct connection b/w living bone and load
bearing Endo Osseous Implant at the light
microscopic level”

9. OSSEO INTEGRATION
Bio-compatable material.
An implant precisely adapted to the
prepared bony site.
A-traumatic surgery minimize tissue
damage.
Immobile,undisturbed healing phase.

10. CLINICAL IMPLANT COMPONENTS
IMPLANT :
-Titanium, Calcium-Phosphate
Ceramics.
-Threaded / Non threaded, with or
without HA coating, Plasma spray.

14. IMPRESSION POST
This facilitates the transfer of the intra oral
location of the fixture or the abutment to a
similar position in the laboratory cast.

15. LABORATORY ANALOUGE
Is a component machined to exactly
represent either the implant or the
abutment in the laboratory cast.

21. SUCCESS CRITERIA
Individual unattached Implant is immobile when
tested clinically
No evidence of Peri Implant radiolucency
The mean vertical bone loss is < .02mm
annually after the first year
No persistent pain, discomfort or infection is
attributable to the Implant
The Implant design does not preclude
placement of a crown or prosthesis with an
appearence the is satisfatory to the patient and
the dentist

23. SURFACE OF IMPLANT
SEM study shows
Implant surface
characterized by
presence of pores.

25. HEALING
Emanating from existing bone, new bone
is formed by osseo conduction directly on
the implant surface following the contour
of the threads.
The osteogenic cells differentiate into
osteoblasts.
By this,always new osteogenic cells,
socalled pre osteoblasts,must be recruited
from stem cells and have to migrate to the
front part of bone formation.
www.indiandentalacademy.com
26. Pre osteoblasts form cytoplasmic
extentions,socalled pseudopodia, which
are important for both cell attachment and
migration on solid surfaces.
By means of pseudopodia, pre
osteoblasts make use of porous structures
of implant surface to migrate and become
attached.

27. Pre osteoblasts become differentiated into
osteoblasts and start the secretion of bone
matrix.
Subsequently, the collagenous bone
matrix becomes minerallized and
deposites of woven bone are formed
directly on the implant surface.
There by, initially a small band of woven
bone follows the contour of the
threads.This small band broadens and
matures to lamellar bone.
