used for further development of the
institution so that the students benefit
from the management’s policies.
Schools need to be fair in dealing with
parents, students, and employees by

democratic in their approach. As an
educationist, we need to keep pace
with the shifting dynamics of learning
because today’s learners are evolving
faster, and they seek a change from
traditional teaching methodology.

Hence, we need to adopt a flexible
education model, one which enables
students to toggle between classroom
learning and the practical world. In
other words, encourage and implement
the NEP 2020 in letter and spirit.
Our stakeholders have shown a high
degree of faith and trust in the
institution over the years, which is a
result of regular interaction and
discussions with them on issues

time on ways and means to improve

Embracing the Future Roadmap
Pinegrove School has championed
multiple sustainable initiatives in
becoming a Zero-Waste School by not
sending any garbage to the
municipality dump-yards. Children are
taught to coexist with nature via
experiential-based learning activities,
which includes segregation of waste at
the source, organically composting
kitchen waste, dairy farming,
agriculture and treating sewage water
and further using it for gardening
purposes. The school has made
endeavors to manage the other non-
recyclable waste as well, so that not a
kilogram of waste produced by the
school goes to the Municipal Dump
Yards.
The school has also installed solar
panels to generate a total of 100 KW of
electricity apart from having about 20
Lakh litres of rainwater harvesting
tanks and made serious efforts in

very young and innocent, totally new to the new world. The

As the students come from different cultural and socio-
economic backgrounds. So, their understanding and needs
for learning and education naturally differ. This comes with
new challenges for modern schools in customizing the

The COVID-19 Pandemic had brought much of the world
to a virtual standstill. As a result, innumerable schools were
being shut down worldwide. Many schools collapsed due to
the economic impact.
Mrs Bhosale accepts that, like every other preschool, it was
a very challenging time for all of them. Still, as they
struggled to come to terms with these circumstances where
a pandemic of this magnitude had derailed the best of
planning in the whole world, they at Angels were looking
for ways and means to minimize the academic loss for their
students.
They then initiated a process to provide fruitful academic
experiences for their children; therefore, they planned to go
for online teaching to make this time productive and happy
for their students.

Angels Paradise Academy continuously endeavours to

With this paradigm shift, they aimed to utilize interactive,

Mrs Bhosale says, "With so much free time, we believed

This was when they introduced their first ever 24x7 online
preschool Uriel Kids –– reach out to parents from all across
the Globe. Apart from regular school, they also started
after-school activities like Phonics, Foreign language
classes, Shlokas, Chess, Public speaking and much more to
keep the kids engaged and give them the joys of limitless
learning!
Shifting Paradigms
Mrs Bhosale recollects, "Since the safety of the staff was of
utmost priority to us; we started the practice of work from
home and all of us geared to take up the new challenges
ahead." The next few days were onerous for them as they
were going to prepare for distance learning through online
content, pre-recorded videos, taking live online classes, and
preparing worksheets and assignments from home. They
supported and mentored their teachers by providing them
with various online training programmes to help them
become adept with online teaching through innovative and
fun ways.
Since this was a new experience for all of them, they all
needed to practice patience, flexibility and understanding.
"After all these arduous times, we can proudly say that we
efficiently adapted to this new normal and shifted
seamlessly to suit the current need making sure that none of
our children are impacted. We arranged monthly PTMs to

Started franchise operations of Pebbles Pre-School in 2014
as a royalty-free franchise brand owning two registered
Trademarks (“Pebbles Pre-School” and “Pebbles”). His
target was reaching out to individuals interested in starting a
business with low investment, good returns, satisfaction,
and early break-even. Initial operations were restricted to
Tamil Nadu, now looking at expanding Pan India and
International too.
Self-Driven Motivation
Both his parents were teachers by profession and worked in
Africa in different countries from the early 60s. Kennedy
did all his schooling in Africa and found the play school
industry very organized. Most of these schools had expats
from the UK and other European countries who were
running these schools and teaching systematically. The
formative years for the child are very important, and it is
the time when children learn quickly and this is the time
when all their senses must be stimulated.

Kennedy found this lacking in Chennai, where most
of the so-called play schools had children coming
in, playing around, eating, and sleeping with no
structured curriculum. This motivated him to enter the early
learning education space.

The playschool industry took a big hit during the pandemic
as all the schools were closed. Most of the playschools are
run on rented premises and paying rent without income is a
big challenge. At Pebbles, the management does not believe
in online classes for the age group of children that it caters
to. It designed a method of imparting the curriculum by
enabling parents to access the curriculum and materials on
the school server and teach their wards at their convenience
through instructions given daily to the parents by its team.
This enabled its franchisees to continue providing parents
services and collecting the school fees. The Pebbles
management team advised them not to give up hope and try
to sustain until the pandemic ended and normal operations
resumed.
Gradual Expansion
Pebbles Preschool hopes to enhance its marketing activities
in other states across India with an emphasis on post-
pandemic needs and safety measures. Today it is ranked as
one of the top 15 plays school brands in India. It hopes to
better the current to surge into the top five.
The Rising Scope
As already mentioned, there would be a major demand for
organized play schools post-pandemic. This will create
opportunities for new entrants in the field and opportunities

Pragmatic Approach to Technologies
It is totally against virtual schooling for preschoolers as
children in the pre-schooling age have an attention span of
hardly 3 to 5 minutes. Virtual schooling will mean making

challenge for parents trying to make their children pay
attention to the teacher taking the class. Children in this age
group also need personal interaction with the teacher and
peers in the class, which is absent in a virtual class.

does not provide this. In his opinion, Kennedy doesn’t see
any pros in virtual learning for preschoolers.
