Healthcare Infrastructure Solutions that Deliver Dramatic SavingsMestizo Enterprises
Shrinking Budgets, Consolidation, and the incessant demand for more functionality, more services, more integration at lower cost is harming healthcare operations. Decision Makers are at a loss when faced with technical decisions that force them to spend money on cable plants, network switches, telco closet expansions to meet "today's standards", and more and more energy consumption. Sandia National LABS cut more than 1 Million Kilowatt hours and is predicting a savings of 20 Million Dollars over the next 5 years alone and they spent less money on upgrades than ever before.
Take a look at the 5G-IoT future. The Internet of Things (IoT) offers a connected future with smart homes, cars, and wearables, powered by 5G. Discover exciting possibilities for 5G and IoT.
There has been no shortage of edge computing activities during 2017, in both the telco and web-scale
domains. Several Tier One communication service providers (CSPs), including AT&T, China Mobile, and
Deutsche Telecom (DT), have announced that edge computing will be a key component of their future
network strategies and expect that several new use cases will be powered by edge servers. In the cloud
domain, Amazon, Facebook, and Google are pushing further toward the edge of their own networks, creating
more points of presence throughout the world. Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods in the United States
could also be interpreted as a first attempt to obtain real estate across the U.S. market that can be used
for Amazon’s edge servers. In fact, all major web-scale companies—Amazon, Google, and Microsoft—have
announced edge computing services that are driven by IoT use cases.

D2D communication for spectral efficiency improvement and interference reduct...journalBEEI
Device-to-device (D2D) communication system plays an extremely important role in fulfilling the demands of fourth generation (4G) and fifth generation (5G) technologies. 4G technology cannot meet high data demands. The D2D communication system is believed to provide major improvements in resource usage, energy efficiency, and overall throughput, which are the main demands for the 5G network. Some of the main issues in the D2D communication system involve spectrum efficiency and interference. Although many studies have been conducted on spectrum efficiency improvement and interference reduction, the issues still remain. A study should be conducted to obtain a better understanding of the D2D communication system and to develop a D2D scheme with efficient spectrum utilization and interference reduction. Many survey papers have been published on these issues, but the fundamental concepts behind the D2D communication system require investigation. In this study, we investigated and analyzed the fundamental concepts behind the D2D communication system to develop an efficient D2D resource allocation scheme with reduced interference.

In the past, we’ve seen a regular 10 year technology refresh with 2G, 3G and 4G each being added incrementally. Some believe that 5G will follow in the same cycle, although at the moment it remains vague and unpredictable. Others point out that the benefits of each new generation – mainly increasing spectral efficiency and releasing new spectrum – are reaching their full potential. This has been a key argument for small cell deployment, which increases capacity through frequency reuse without the need for additional spectrum or spectral efficiencies.

The Energy Efficient Factory: Everything You Need to Know About Smart Energy ...Design World
Join us for a free webinar with presenters David Kaley from Mitsubishi Electric Automation and Gregory Maloney from Iconics as they discuss some surprising ways to improve the energy efficiency of your manufacturing facility.
With more attention being paid to the energy use of machines in factories as well as directives from the government for making motors more energy efficient, people are more interested than ever in how they can meet the emerging standards, operate more efficiently, and cut their energy costs.
Highlights will include:
Discovering how to use automation devices and systems already installed in plants today to gather data needed to understand consumption in a way that helps lower utility costs and greenhouse gas emissions
Learning why synchronizing production process data with energy data enables greater visibility into energy usage, and discussing how efficiency improvements can be implemented
The importance of metering energy assets in an industrial facility
Identifying the low hanging fruits for energy saving opportunities and next steps
The Industrial Era has drawn some 54% of humanity into 1% of the global landmass in support of Maslows Heirarchy (MH) of needs and have led to evermore crowded suburbs and problematic congestion. These factors call for de-citification and re-urbanization some 50 miles from large and congested cities. These urbanettes are master planned and distributed lifestyle ecosystems. Urbanettes are self sustaining ecosystems that require energy, communications, healthcare, jobs and housing while contributing to local supplies for regional cities. • Lower Sub Contractor Costs
32. 32This is How we Change the Game
Wet and Dry Utility Provisioning
• HDPE – High Density Polyethelene Pipe with
GPS monitoring forms the backbone of our
system.
• Eliminates Ductile Iron and Socket Weld
PVC Pipe that is typically used for
transmission mains.
• Gravity Sewer and Concrete Storm Water
Culverts modified to meet improved collection
capability
• HDPE Pipe used for all Water, Telecom,
Power, Gas, Sewer, Reuse and Storm Water
distribution.
• HDPE Pipe is flexible, easy to install, and
decreases labor, material cost, and
construction time.
• GRID Independence is now possible
• Campus Solutions that reduce and eliminate
grid dependence
33. 33Generating Power
Demand Side – Sustainable Off Grid Systems
• Efficient Distributed Power Generation Units
• Converts natural gas, methane, diesel, bio-diesel,
kerosene, propane to electrical power
• By-products are heat and oxygen which can be sold
or used for HVAC.
• Inexpensive to deploy and retrofit
• Large power plants such as those used by most
utilities average 31% in efficiency and produce
environmentally damaging waste by-products
• Co-generation can yield efficiencies as high as 90%
and produce by-products that benefit the environment
• GRID Independence is now possible
