Get Hidaya (Guidance) from the creator and give haddiyah (gift) to his creation.

2. Chapter 67, Al-Mulk (The Sovereignty) - سورة الملك , Verse 2 الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ اسی نے موت اور زندگی کو پیدا کیا تاکہ تمہاری آزمائش کرے کہ تم میں کون اچھے عمل کرتا ہے۔ اور وہ زبردست ( اور ) بخشنے والا ہے Transliteration : Allathee khalaqa almawta walhayataliyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu AAamalan wahuwa alAAazeezualghafoor Translation : Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; Life and Death – How and Why?

3. Chapter An-Naĥl (The Bee) - سورة النحل , Verse 4 خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ اسی نے انسان کو نطفے سے بنایا مگر وہ اس ( خالق ) کے بارے میں علانیہ جھگڑنے لگا Transliteration : Khalaqa al-insana min nutfatinfa-itha huwa khaseemun mubeen Translation : He has created man from Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge), then behold, this same (man) becomes an open opponent. Chapter 51 Adh-Dhāriyāt - (The Winnowing Winds) - سورة الذاريات , Verse 56 وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ اور میں نے جنوں اور انسانوں کو اس لئے پیدا کیا ہے کہ میری عبادت کریں Transliteration : Wama khalaqtu aljinna wal-insailla liyaAAbudoon Translation : And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). Chapter 21 Al-'Anbyā' (The Prophets) - سورة الأنبياء , Verse 35 كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً ۖ وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ ہر متنفس کو موت کا مزا چکھنا ہے۔ اور ہم تو لوگوں کو سختی اور آسودگی میں آزمائش کے طور پر مبتلا کرتے ہیں۔ اور تم ہماری طرف ہی لوٹ کر آؤ گے Transliteration : Kullu nafsin tha-iqatu almawtiwanablookum bishsharri walkhayri fitnatanwa-ilayna turjaAAoon Translation : Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned. Chapter 29, Al-`Ankabūt (The Spider) - سورة العنكبوت , Verse 57 كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ ہر متنفس موت کا مزہ چکھنے والا ہے۔ پھر تم ہماری ہی طرف لوٹ کر آؤ گے Transliteration : Kullu nafsin tha-iqatu almawti thummailayna turjaAAoon Translation : Everyone shall taste the death. Chapter 30 Ar-Rūm (The Romans) - سورة الروم , Verse 11 اللَّهُ يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ خدا ہی خلقت کو پہلی بار پیدا کرتا ہے وہی اس کو پھر پیدا کرے گا پھر تم اُسی کی طرف لوٹ جاؤ گے Transliteration : Allahu yabdao alkhalqa thummayuAAeeduhu thumma ilayhi turjaAAoon Translation : Allah (Alone) originates the creation, then He will repeat it, then to Him you will be returned. 8. Chapter 4 Surat An-Nisā' (The Women) - سورة النساء , Verse 1 يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالًا كَثِيرًا وَنِسَاءً ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي تَسَاءَلُونَ بِهِ وَالْأَرْحَامَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًا لوگو اپنے پروردگار سے ڈرو جس نے تم کو ایک شخص سے پیدا کیا ( یعنی اول ) اس سے اس کا جوڑا بنایا۔ پھر ان دونوں سے کثرت سے مرد وعورت ( پیدا کرکے روئے زمین پر ) پھیلا دیئے۔ اور خدا سے جس کے نام کو تم اپنی حاجت بر آری کا ذریعہ بناتے ہو ڈرو اور ( قطع مودت ) ارحام سے ( بچو ) کچھ شک نہیں کہ خدا تمہیں دیکھ رہا ہے Transliteration : Ya ayyuha annasuittaqoo rabbakumu allathee khalaqakum min nafsin wahidatinwakhalaqa minha zawjaha wabaththa minhumarijalan katheeran wanisaan wattaqoo Allahaallathee tasaaloona bihi wal-arhamainna Allaha kana AAalaykum raqeeb Translation : O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). 9. Chapter 30 Surat Ar-Rūm (The Romans) - سورة الروم , Verse 40 اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَائِكُم مَّن يَفْعَلُ مِن ذَٰلِكُم مِّن شَيْءٍ ۚ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ خدا ہی تو ہے جس نے تم کو پیدا کیا پھر تم کو رزق دیا پھر تمہیں مارے گا۔ پھر زندہ کرے گا۔ بھلا تمہارے ( بنائے ہوئے ) شریکوں میں بھی کوئی ایسا ہے جو ان کاموں میں سے کچھ کر سکے۔ وہ پاک ہے اور ( اس کی شان ) ان کے شریکوں سے بلند ہے Transliteration : Allahu allathee khalaqakumthumma razaqakum thumma yumeetukum thumma yuhyeekum halmin shuraka-ikum man yafAAalu min thalikum minshay-in subhanahu wataAAala AAammayushrikoon Translation : Allah is He Who created you, then provided food for you, then will cause you to die, then (again) He will give you life (on the Day of Resurrection). Is there any of your (so-called) partners (of Allah) that do anything of that ? Glory be to Him! And Exalted be He above all that (evil) they associate (with Him). Life and Death – How and Why?

10. Chapter 39 Surat Az-Zumar (The Troops) - سورة الزمر , Verse 42 اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّتِي لَمْ تَمُتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا ۖ فَيُمْسِكُ الَّتِي قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ الْأُخْرَىٰ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ خدا لوگوں کے مرنے کے وقت ان کی روحیں قبض کرلیتا ہے اور جو مرے نہیں ( ان کی روحیں ) سوتے میں ( قبض کرلیتا ہے ) پھر جن پر موت کا حکم کرچکتا ہے ان کو روک رکھتا ہے اور باقی روحوں کو ایک وقت مقرر تک کے لئے چھوڑ دیتا ہے۔ جو لوگ فکر کرتے ہیں ان کے لئے اس میں نشانیاں ہیں Transliteration : Allahu yatawaffa al-anfusa heenamawtiha wallatee lam tamut fee manamihafayumsiku allatee qada AAalayha almawta wayursilual-okhra ila ajalin musamman inna fee thalikalaayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroon Translation : It is Allah Who takes away the souls at the time of their death, and those that die not during their sleep. He keeps those (souls) for which He has ordained death and sends the rest for a term appointed. Verily, in this are signs for a people who think deeply. Life and Death – How and Why?

11. Chapter 6 Surat Al-'An`ām (The Cattle) - سورة الأنعام , Verse 2 هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن طِينٍ ثُمَّ قَضَىٰ أَجَلًا ۖ وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى عِندَهُ ۖ ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ وہی تو ہے جس نے تم کو مٹی سے پیدا کیا پھر ( مرنے کا ) ایک وقت مقرر کر دیا اور ایک مدت اس کے ہاں اور مقرر ہے پھر بھی تم ( اے کافرو خدا کے بارے میں ) شک کرتے ہو Transliteration : Huwa allathee khalaqakum min teeninthumma qada ajalan waajalun musamman AAindahu thumma antumtamtaroon Translation : He it is Who has created you from clay, and then has decreed a stated term (for you to die). And there is with Him another determined term (for you to be resurrected), yet you doubt (in the Resurrection). Life and Death – How and Why?

12. Chapter 3 Surat 'Āli `Imrān (Family of Imran) - سورة آل عمران , Verse 145 وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ كِتَابًا مُّؤَجَّلًا ۗ وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الْآخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا ۚ وَسَنَجْزِي الشَّاكِرِينَ اور کسی شخص میں طاقت نہیں کہ خدا کے حکم کے بغیر مر جائے ( اس نے موت کا ) وقت مقرر کر کے لکھ رکھا ہے اور جو شخص دنیا میں ( اپنے اعمال کا ) بدلہ چاہے اس کو ہم یہیں بدلہ دے دیں گے اور جو آخرت میں طالبِ ثواب ہو اس کو وہاں اجر عطا کریں گے اور ہم شکر گزاروں کو عنقریب ( بہت اچھا ) صلہ دیں گے Transliteration : Wama kana linafsin an tamootailla bi-ithni Allahi kitabanmu-ajjalan waman yurid thawaba addunyanu/tihi minha waman yurid thawaba al-akhiratinu/tihi minha wasanajzee ashshakireen Translation : And no person can ever die except by Allah's Leave and at an appointed term. And whoever desires a reward in (this) world, We shall give him of it; and whoever desires a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give him thereof. And We shall reward the grateful Life and Death – How and Why?

13. Chapter 18 Surat Al-Kahf (The Cave) - سورة الكهف , verse 47 وَيَوْمَ نُسَيِّرُ الْجِبَالَ وَتَرَى الْأَرْضَ بَارِزَةً وَحَشَرْنَاهُمْ فَلَمْ نُغَادِرْ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا اور جس دن ہم پہاڑوں کو چلائیں گے اور تم زمین کو صاف میدان دیکھو گے اور ان ( لوگوں کو ) ہم جمع کرلیں گے تو ان میں سے کسی کو بھی نہیں چھوڑیں گے Transliteration : Wayawma nusayyiru aljibala wataraal-arda barizatan wahasharnahum falamnughadir minhum ahada Translation : And (remember) the Day We shall cause the mountains to pass away (like clouds of dust), and you will see the earth as a levelled plain, and we shall gather them all together so as to leave not one of them behind. 14. Chapter 23 Surat Al-Mu'minūn (The Believers) - سورة المؤمنون , verse 99 حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَهُمُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ارْجِعُونِ ( یہ لوگ اسی طرح غفلت میں رہیں گے ) یہاں تک کہ جب ان میں سے کسی کے پاس موت آجائے گی تو کہے گا کہ اے پروردگار ! مجھے پھر ( دنیا میں ) واپس بھیج دے Transliteration : Hatta itha jaa ahadahumualmawtu qala rabbi irjiAAoon Translation : Until, when death comes to one of them (those who join partners with Allah), he says: "My Lord! Send me back… Life and Death – How and Why?

15. Chapter 23 Surat Al-Mu'minūn (The Believers) - سورة المؤمنون , verse 100 لَعَلِّي أَعْمَلُ صَالِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّا ۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَائِلُهَا ۖ وَمِن وَرَائِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ( تاکہ میں اس میں جسے چھوڑ آیا ہوں نیک کام کیا کروں۔ ہرگز نہیں۔ یہ ایک ایسی بات ہے کہ وہ اسے زبان سے کہہ رہا ہوگا ( اور اس کے ساتھ عمل نہیں ہوگا ) اور اس کے پیچھے برزخ ہے ( جہاں وہ ) اس دن تک کہ ( دوبارہ ) اٹھائے جائیں گے، ( رہیں گے ) Transliteration : LaAAallee aAAmalu salihanfeema taraktu kalla innaha kalimatun huwa qa-iluhawamin wara-ihim barzakhun ila yawmi yubAAathoon Translation : "So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!" No! It is but a word that he speaks, and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day when they will be resurrected. Life and Death – How and Why?

16. Chapter 50 Surat Qāf (The Letter "Qaf") - سورة ق , verse 15 أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ ( کیا ہم پہلی بار پیدا کرکے تھک گئے ہیں؟ ( نہیں ) بلکہ یہ ازسرنو پیدا کرنے میں شک میں ( پڑے ہوئے ) ہیں Transliteration : AfaAAayeena bilkhalqial-awwali bal hum fee labsin min khalqin jadeed Translation : Were We then tired with the first creation? Nay, They are in confused doubt about a new creation (i.e. Resurrection)? Life and Death – How and Why?

17. Chapter 50 Surat Qāf (The Letter "Qaf") - سورة ق , verse 16 وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ ( اور ہم ہی نے انسان کو پیدا کیا ہے اور جو خیالات اس کے دل میں گزرتے ہیں ہم ان کو جانتے ہیں۔ اور ہم اس کی رگ جان سے بھی اس سے زیادہ قریب ہیں Transliteration : Walaqad khalaqna al-insanawanaAAlamu ma tuwaswisu bihi nafsuhu wanahnu aqrabuilayhi min habli alwareed Translation : And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). Life and Death – How and Why?

18. Chapter 20 Surat Ţāhā (Ta-Ha) - سورة طه , verse 55 مِنْهَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ وَفِيهَا نُعِيدُكُمْ وَمِنْهَا نُخْرِجُكُمْ تَارَةً أُخْرَىٰ اسی ( زمین ) سے ہم تم کو پیدا کیا اور اسی میں تمہیں لوٹائیں گے اور اسی سے دوسری دفعہ نکالیں گے Transliteration : Minha khalaqnakum wafeehanuAAeedukum waminha nukhrijukum taratan okhra Translation : Thereof (the earth) We created you, and into it We shall return you, and from it We shall bring you out once again. 19. Chapter 21 Surat Al-'Anbyā' (The Prophets) - سورة الأنبياء , verse 47 وَنَضَعُ الْمَوَازِينَ الْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا ۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَاسِبِينَ اور ہم قیامت کے دن انصاف کی ترازو کھڑی کریں گے تو کسی شخص کی ذرا بھی حق تلفی نہ کی جائے گی۔ اور اگر رائی کے دانے کے برابر بھی ( کسی کا عمل ) ہوگا تو ہم اس کو لاحاضر کریں گے۔ اور ہم حساب کرنے کو کافی ہیں Transliteration : WanadaAAu almawazeena alqistaliyawmi alqiyamati fala tuthlamunafsun shay-an wa-in kana mithqala habbatinmin khardalin atayna biha wakafa binahasibeen Translation : And We shall set up balances of justice on the Day of Resurrection, then none will be dealt with unjustly in anything. And if there be the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it. And Sufficient are We as Reckoners. Life and Death – How and Why?

20. Chapter 31 Surat Luqmān (Luqman) - سورة لقمان , verse 33 يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ وَاخْشَوْا يَوْمًا لَّا يَجْزِي وَالِدٌ عَن وَلَدِهِ وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَن وَالِدِهِ شَيْئًا ۚ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ ۖ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُم بِاللَّهِ الْغَرُورُ لوگو اپنے پروردگار سے ڈرو اور اُس دن کا خوف کرو کہ نہ تو باپ اپنے بیٹے کے کچھ کام آئے۔ اور نہ بیٹا باپ کے کچھ کام آسکے۔ بیشک خدا کا وعدہ سچا ہے پس دنیا کی زندگی تم کو دھوکے میں نہ ڈال دے۔ اور نہ فریب دینے والا ( شیطان ) تمہیں خدا کے بارے میں کسی طرح کا فریب دے Transliteration : Ya ayyuha annasuittaqoo rabbakum wakhshaw yawman la yajzee walidunAAan waladihi wala mawloodun huwa jazin AAan walidihishay-an inna waAAda Allahi haqqun falataghurrannakumu alhayatu addunya walayaghurrannakum billahi algharoor Translation : O mankind! Be afraid of your Lord (by keeping your duty to Him and avoiding all evil), and fear a Day when no father can avail aught for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the Promise of Allah is true, let not then this (worldly) present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah. Life and Death – How and Why?

21. Chapter 3 Surat 'Āli `Imrān (Family of Imran) - سورة آل عمران , verse 1 يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مُّحْضَرًا وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوءٍ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُ أَمَدًا بَعِيدًا ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفْسَهُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ رَءُوفٌ بِالْعِبَادِ جس دن ہر شخص اپنے اعمال کی نیکی کو موجود پالے گا اور ان کی برائی کو بھی ( دیکھ لے گا ) تو آرزو کرے گا کہ اے کاش اس میں اور اس برائی میں دور کی مسافت ہو جاتی اور خدا تم کو اپنے ( غضب ) سے ڈراتا ہے اور خدا اپنے بندوں پر نہایت مہربان ہے Transliteration : Yawma tajidu kullu nafsin ma AAamilatmin khayrin muhdaran wama AAamilat min soo-intawaddu law anna baynaha wabaynahu amadan baAAeedan wayuhaththirukumuAllahu nafsahu wallahu raoofun bilAAibad Translation : On the Day when every person will be confronted with all the good he has done, and all the evil he has done, he will wish that there were a great distance between him and his evil. And Allah warns you against Himself (His Punishment) and Allah is full of Kindness to the (His) slaves. Life and Death – How and Why?

22. Chapter 3 Surat 'Āli `Imrān (Family of Imran) - سورة آل عمران , verse 185 كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۖ فَمَن زُحْزِحَ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ ۗ وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ ہر متنفس کو موت کا مزا چکھنا ہے اور تم کو قیامت کے دن تمہارے اعمال کا پورا پورا بدلا دیا جائے گا۔ تو جو شخص آتش جہنم سے دور رکھا گیا اور بہشت میں داخل کیا گیا وہ مراد کو پہنچ گیا اور دنیا کی زندگی تو دھوکے کا سامان ہے Transliteration : Kullu nafsin tha-iqatu almawtiwa-innama tuwaffawna ojoorakum yawma alqiyamatifaman zuhziha AAani annari waodkhilaaljannata faqad faza wama alhayatu addunyailla mataAAu alghuroor Translation : Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing). Life and Death – How and Why?

23. Chapter 58 Surat Al-Mujādila (The Pleading Woman) - سورة المجادلة , verse 6 يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُمُ اللَّهُ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوا ۚ أَحْصَاهُ اللَّهُ وَنَسُوهُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ جس دن خدا ان سب کو جلا اٹھائے گا تو جو کام وہ کرتے رہے ان کو جتائے گا۔ خدا کو وہ سب ( کام ) یاد ہیں اور یہ ان کو بھول گئے ہیں اور خدا ہر چیز سے واقف ہے Transliteration : Yawma yabAAathuhumu Allahu jameeAAanfayunabbi-ohum bima AAamiloo ahsahu Allahuwanasoohu wallahu AAala kulli shay-inshaheed Translation : On the Day when Allah will resurrect them all together (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) and inform them of what they did. Allah has kept account of it, while they have forgotten it. And Allah is Witness over all things. Life and Death – How and Why?

Chapter 18 Surat Al-Kahf (The Cave) - سورة الكهف , verse 30 إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ إِنَّا لَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ مَنْ أَحْسَنَ عَمَلًا ( اور ) جو ایمان لائے اور کام بھی نیک کرتے رہے تو ہم نیک کام کرنے والوں کا اجر ضائع نہیں کرتے Transliteration : Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati inna lanudeeAAu ajra man ahsana AAamala Translation : Verily! As for those who believe and do righteous deeds, certainly! We shall not suffer to be lost the reward of anyone who does his (righteous) deeds in the most perfect manner. Chapter 76 Surat Al-'Insān (The Man) - سورة الانسان , verse 8 وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا اور باوجود یہ کہ ان کو خود طعام کی خواہش ( اور حاجت ) ہے فقیروں اور یتیموں اور قیدیوں کو کھلاتے ہیں Transliteration : WayutAAimona attaAAamaAAala hubbihi miskeenan wayateeman waaseera Translation : And they give food, inspite of their love for it (or for the love of Him), to Miskin (poor), the orphan, and the captive Life and Death – How and Why?

26. Chapter 76 Surat Al-'Insān (The Man) - سورة الانسان , verse 9 إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلَا شُكُورًا ( اور کہتے ہیں کہ ) ہم تم کو خالص خدا کے لئے کھلاتے ہیں۔ نہ تم سے عوض کے خواستگار ہیں نہ شکرگزاری کے ( طلبگار ) Transliteration : Innama nutAAimukum liwajhi Allahila nureedu minkum jazaan wala shukoora Translation : (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. 27. Chapter 76 Surat Al-'Insān (The Man) - سورة الانسان , verse 10 إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا ( م کو اپنے پروردگار سے اس دن کا ڈر لگتا ہے ( جو چہروں کو ) کریہہ المنظر اور ( دلوں کو ) سخت ( مضطر کر دینے والا ) ہے Transliteration : Inna nakhafu min rabbinayawman AAaboosan qamtareera Translation : "Verily, We fear from our Lord a Day, hard and distressful, that will make the faces look horrible (from extreme dislikeness to it)." 28. Chapter 4 Surat An-Nisā' (The Women) - سورة النساء , verse 140 وَقَدْ نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الْكِتَابِ أَنْ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ يُكْفَرُ بِهَا وَيُسْتَهْزَأُ بِهَا فَلَا تَقْعُدُوا مَعَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَخُوضُوا فِي حَدِيثٍ غَيْرِهِ ۚ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا مِّثْلُهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَامِعُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ وَالْكَافِرِينَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ جَمِيعًا اور خدا نے تم ( مومنوں ) پر اپنی کتاب میں ( یہ حکم ) نازل فرمایا ہے کہ جب تم ( کہیں ) سنو کہ خدا کی آیتوں سے انکار ہورہا ہے اور ان کی ہنسی اڑائی جاتی ہے تو جب تک وہ لوگ اور باتیں ( نہ ) کرنے لگیں۔ ان کے پاس مت بیٹھو۔ ورنہ تم بھی انہیں جیسے ہوجاؤ گے۔ کچھ شک نہیں کہ خدا منافقوں اور کافروں سب کو دوزخ میں اکھٹا کرنے والا ہے Transliteration : Waqad nazzala AAalaykum fee alkitabian itha samiAAtum ayati Allahiyukfaru biha wayustahzao biha fala taqAAudoomaAAahum hatta yakhoodoo fee hadeethinghayrihi innakum ithan mithluhum inna Allaha jamiAAualmunafiqeena walkafireena fee jahannamajameeAAa Translation : And it has already been revealed to you in the Book (this Quran) that when you hear the Verses of Allah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that; (but if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them. Surely, Allah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell, Life and Death – How and Why?

29. Chapter 25 Surat Al-Furqān (The Criterian) - سورة الفرقان , verse 63 وَعِبَادُ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ هَوْنًا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ الْجَاهِلُونَ قَالُوا سَلَامًا اور خدا کے بندے تو وہ ہیں جو زمین پر آہستگی سے چلتے ہیں اور جب جاہل لوگ ان سے ( جاہلانہ ) گفتگو کرتے ہیں تو سلام کہتے ہیں Transliteration : WaAAibadu arrahmaniallatheena yamshoona AAala al-ardi hawnanwa-itha khatabahumu aljahiloona qaloosalama Translation : And the slaves of the Most Beneficent (Allah) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness. 30. Chapter 25 Surat Al-Furqān (The Criterian) - سورة الفرقان , verse 72 وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِاللَّغْوِ مَرُّوا كِرَامًا اور وہ جو جھوٹی گواہی نہیں دیتے اور جب ان کو بیہودہ چیزوں کے پاس سے گزرنے کا اتفاق ہو تو بزرگانہ انداز سے گزرتے ہیں Transliteration : Wallatheena layashhadoona azzoora wa-itha marroo billaghwimarroo kirama Translation : And those who do not witness falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity. 31. Chapter 31 Surat Luqmān (Luqman) - سورة لقمانسورة الفرقان , verse 18 وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ اور ( ازراہ غرور ) لوگوں سے گال نہ پھلانا اور زمین میں اکڑ کر نہ چلنا۔ کہ خدا کسی اترانے والے خود پسند کو پسند نہیں کرتا Transliteration : Wala tusaAAAAir khaddaka linnasiwala tamshi fee al-ardi marahan inna Allahala yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin fakhoor Translation : "And turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. 32. Chapter 31 Surat Luqmān (Luqman) - سورة لقمانسورة الفرقان , verse 19 وَاقْصِدْ فِي مَشْيِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِن صَوْتِكَ ۚ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ الْأَصْوَاتِ لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِيرِ اور اپنی چال میں اعتدال کئے رہنا اور ( بولتے وقت ) آواز نیچی رکھنا کیونکہ ( اُونچی آواز گدھوں کی ہے اور کچھ شک نہیں کہ ) سب آوازوں سے بُری آواز گدھوں کی ہے Transliteration : Waqsid fee mashyika waghdudmin sawtika inna ankara al-aswati lasawtualhameer Translation : "And be moderate (or show no insolence) in your walking, and lower your voice. Verily, the harshest of all voices is the voice (braying) of the ass." Life and Death – How and Why?

33. Chapter 32 Surat As-Sajdah (The Prostration) - سورة السجدة , verse 15 إِنَّمَا يُؤْمِنُ بِآيَاتِنَا الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهَا خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَسَبَّحُوا بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ۩ ہماری آیتوں پر تو وہی لوگ ایمان لاتے ہیں کہ جب اُن کو اُن سے نصیحت کی جاتی ہے تو سجدے میں گرپڑتے اور اپنے پروردگار کی تعریف کے ساتھ تسبیح کرتے ہیں اور غرور نہیں کرتے Transliteration : Innama yu/minu bi-ayatinaallatheena itha thukkiroo bihakharroo sujjadan wasabbahoo bihamdi rabbihim wahumla yastakbiroon Translation : Only those believe in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), who, when they are reminded of them fall down prostrate, and glorify the Praises of their Lord, and they are not proud. 34. Chapter 32 Surat As-Sajdah (The Prostration) - سورة السجدة , verse 16 تَتَجَافَىٰ جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ اُن کے پہلو بچھونوں سے الگ رہتے ہیں ( اور ) وہ اپنے پروردگار کو خوف اور اُمید سے پکارتے اور جو ( مال ) ہم نے اُن کو دیا ہے اس میں سے خرچ کرتے ہیں Transliteration : Tatajafa junoobuhum AAani almadajiAAiyadAAoona rabbahum khawfan watamaAAan wamimmarazaqnahum yunfiqoon Translation : Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (charity in Allah's Cause) out of what We have bestowed on them. 35. Chapter 39 Surat Az-Zumar (The Troops) - سورة الزمر , verse 58 أَوْ تَقُولَ حِينَ تَرَى الْعَذَابَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِي كَرَّةً فَأَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِي یا جب عذاب دیکھ لے تو کہنے لگے کہ اگر مجھے پھر ایک دفعہ دنیا میں جانا ہو تو میں نیکوکاروں میں ہو جاؤں Transliteration : Aw taqoola heena tara alAAathabalaw anna lee karratan faakoona mina almuhsineen Translation : Or (lest) he should say when he sees the torment: "If only I had another chance (to return to the world) then I should indeed be among the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V.2:112)." 36. Chapter 39 Surat Az-Zumar (The Troops) - سورة الزمر , verse 59 بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَاءَتْكَ آيَاتِي فَكَذَّبْتَ بِهَا وَاسْتَكْبَرْتَ وَكُنتَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ ( خدا فرمائے گا ) کیوں نہیں میری آیتیں تیرے پاس پہنچ گئی ہیں مگر تو نے ان کو جھٹلایا اور شیخی میں آگیا اور تو کافر بن گیا Transliteration : Bala qad jaatka ayateefakaththabta biha wastakbarta wakunta minaalkafireen Translation : Yes! Verily, there came to you My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and you denied them, and were proud and were among the disbelievers. Life and Death – How and Why?

37. Chapter 40 Surat Ghāfir (The Forgiver) - سورة غافر , verse 60 وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ ( اور تمہارے پروردگار نے کہا ہے کہ تم مجھ سے دعا کرو میں تمہاری ( دعا ) قبول کروں گا۔ جو لوگ میری عبادت سے ازراہ تکبر کنیاتے ہیں۔ عنقریب جہنم میں ذلیل ہو کر داخل ہوں گے Transliteration : Waqala rabbukumu odAAoonee astajiblakum inna allatheena yastakbiroona AAan AAibadateesayadkhuloona jahannama dakhireen Translation : And your Lord said: "Invoke Me, [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islamic Monotheism)] (and ask Me for anything) I will respond to your (invocation). Verily! Those who scorn My worship [i.e. do not invoke Me, and do not believe in My Oneness, (Islamic Monotheism)] they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!" Life and Death – How and Why?

38. Chapter 16 Surat An-Naĥl (The Bee) - سورة النحل , verse 29 فَادْخُلُوا أَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ فَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ ( سو دوزخ کے دروازوں میں داخل ہوجاؤ۔ ہمیشہ اس میں رہو گے۔ اب تکبر کرنے والوں کا برا ٹھکانا ہے Transliteration : Fadkhuloo abwaba jahannama khalideenafeeha falabi/sa mathwa almutakabbireen Translation : "So enter the gates of Hell, to abide therein, and indeed, what an evil abode will be for the arrogant." 39. Chapter 17 Surat Al-'Isrā' (The Night Journey) - سورة الإسراء , verse 37 وَلَا تَمْشِ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا ۖ إِنَّكَ لَن تَخْرِقَ الْأَرْضَ وَلَن تَبْلُغَ الْجِبَالَ طُولًا اور زمین پر اکڑ کر ( اور تن کر ) مت چل کہ تو زمین کو پھاڑ تو نہیں ڈالے گا اور نہ لمبا ہو کر پہاڑوں ( کی چوٹی ) تک پہنچ جائے گا Transliteration : Wala tamshi fee al-ardi marahaninnaka lan takhriqa al-arda walan tablugha aljibalatoola Translation : And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance. Verily, you can neither rend nor penetrate the earth, nor can you attain a stature like the mountains in height. Life and Death – How and Why?

40. Chapter 17 Surat Al-'Isrā' (The Night Journey) - سورة الإسراء , verse 38 كُلُّ ذَٰلِكَ كَانَ سَيِّئُهُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ مَكْرُوهًا ان سب ( عادتوں ) کی برائی تیرے پروردگار کے نزدیک بہت ناپسند ہے Transliteration : Kullu thalika kana sayyi-ohuAAinda rabbika makrooha Translation : All the bad aspects of these (the above mentioned things) are hateful to your Lord. Chapter 4 Surat An-Nisā' (The Women) - سورة النساء , verse 36 وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا ۖ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا وَبِذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْيَتَامَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَالْجَارِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْجَارِ الْجُنُبِ وَالصَّاحِبِ بِالْجَنبِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ مُخْتَالًا فَخُورًا اور خدا ہی کی عبادت کرو اور اس کے ساتھ کسی چیز کو شریک نہ بناؤ اور ماں باپ اور قرابت والوں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں اور رشتہ دار ہمسائیوں اور اجنبی ہمسائیوں اور رفقائے پہلو ( یعنی پاس بیٹھنے والوں ) اور مسافروں اور جو لوگ تمہارے قبضے میں ہوں سب کے ساتھ احسان کرو کہ خدا ( احسان کرنے والوں کو دوست رکھتا ہے اور ) تکبر کرنے والے بڑائی مارنے والے کو دوست نہیں رکھتا Transliteration : WaAAbudoo Allaha walatushrikoo bihi shay-an wabilwalidayni ihsananwabithee alqurba walyatama walmasakeeniwaljari thee alqurba waljarialjunubi wassahibi biljanbi wabniassabeeli wama malakat aymanukum inna Allahala yuhibbu man kana mukhtalan fakhoora Translation : Worship Allah and join none with Him in worship, and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, Al-Masakin (the poor), the neighbor who is near of kin, the neighbor who is a stranger, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (you meet), and those (slaves) whom your right hands possess. Verily, Allah does not like such as are proud and boastful; Life and Death – How and Why?

42. Chapter 107 Surat Al-Mā`ūn (The Small Kindesses) - سورة الماعون , verse 4 فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّي تو ایسے نمازیوں کی خرابی ہے Transliteration : Fawaylun lilmusalleen Translation : So woe unto those performers of Salat (prayers) (hypocrites), Life and Death – How and Why?

43. Chapter 107 Surat Al-Mā`ūn (The Small Kindesses) - سورة الماعون , verse 5 الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ جو نماز کی طرف سے غافل رہتے ہیں Transliteration : Allatheena hum AAan salatihimsahoon Translation : Who delay their Salat (prayer) from their stated fixed times, Life and Death – How and Why?

Chapter 26 Surat Ash-Shu`arā' (The Poets) - سورة الشعراء , verse 222 تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِي ہر جھوٹے گنہگار پر اُترتے ہیں Transliteration : Tanazzalu AAala kulli affakinatheem Translation : They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. Chapter 26 Surat Ash-Shu`arā' (The Poets) - سورة الشعراء , verse 223 يُلْقُونَ السَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَاذِبُونَ جو سنی ہوئی بات ( اس کے کام میں ) لا ڈالتے ہیں اور وہ اکثر جھوٹے ہیں Transliteration : Yulqoona assamAAa waaktharuhum kathiboon Translation : Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 49. Chapter 85 Surat Al-Burūj (The Mansions of the Stars) - سورة البروج , verse 10 إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ جن لوگوں نے مومن مردوں اور مومن عورتوں کو تکلیفیں دیں اور توبہ نہ کی ان کو دوزخ کا ( اور ) عذاب بھی ہوگا اور جلنے کا عذاب بھی ہوگا Transliteration : Inna allatheena fatanoo almu/mineenawalmu/minati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabujahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeq Translation : Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 50. Chapter 16 Surat An-Naĥl (The Bee) - سورة النحل , verse 90 إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ ۚ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ خدا تم کو انصاف اور احسان کرنے اور رشتہ داروں کو ( خرچ سے مدد ) دینے کا حکم دیتا ہے۔ اور بےحیائی اور نامعقول کاموں سے اور سرکشی سے منع کرتا ہے ( اور ) تمہیں نصیحت کرتا ہے تاکہ تم یاد رکھو Transliteration : Inna Allaha ya/muru bilAAadliwal-ihsani wa-eeta-i theealqurba wayanha AAani alfahsha-i walmunkariwalbaghyi yaAAithukum laAAallakum tathakkaroon Translation : Verily, Allah enjoins Al-Adl (i.e. justice and worshipping none but Allah Alone - Islamic Monotheism) and Al-Ihsan [i.e. to be patient in performing your duties to Allah, totally for Allah's sake and in accordance with the Sunnah (legal ways) of the Prophet SAW in a perfect manner], and giving (help) to kith and kin (i.e. all that Allah has ordered you to give them e.g., wealth, visiting, looking after them, or any other kind of help, etc.): and forbids Al-Fahsha' (i.e all evil deeds, e.g. illegal sexual acts, disobedience of parents, polytheism, to tell lies, to give false witness, to kill a life without right, etc.), and Al-Munkar (i.e all that is prohibited by Islamic law: polytheism of every kind, disbelief and every kind of evil deeds, etc.), and Al-Baghy (i.e. all kinds of oppression), He admonishes you, that you may take heed. 51. Chapter 49 Surat Al-Ĥujurāt (The Rooms) - سورة الحجرات , verse 9 وَإِن طَائِفَتَانِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ اقْتَتَلُوا فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَإِن بَغَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَلَى الْأُخْرَىٰ فَقَاتِلُوا الَّتِي تَبْغِي حَتَّىٰ تَفِيءَ إِلَىٰ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن فَاءَتْ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا بِالْعَدْلِ وَأَقْسِطُوا ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَ اور اگر مومنوں میں سے کوئی دو فریق آپس میں لڑ پڑیں تو ان میں صلح کرا دو۔ اور اگر ایک فریق دوسرے پر زیادتی کرے تو زیادتی کرنے والے سے لڑو یہاں تک کہ وہ خدا کے حکم کی طرف رجوع لائے۔ پس جب وہ رجوع لائے تو وہ دونوں فریق میں مساوات کے ساتھ صلح کرا دو اور انصاف سے کام لو۔ کہ خدا انصاف کرنے والوں کو پسند کرتا ہے Transliteration : Wa-in ta-ifatani minaalmu/mineena iqtataloo faaslihoo baynahumafa-in baghat ihdahuma AAala al-okhrafaqatiloo allatee tabghee hatta tafee-a ilaamri Allahi fa-in faat faaslihoobaynahuma bilAAadli waaqsitoo inna Allahayuhibbu almuqsiteen Translation : And if two parties or groups among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both, but if one of them rebels against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which rebels till it complies with the Command of Allah; then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Chapter 6 Surat Surat Al-'An`ām (The Cattle) - سورة الأنعام , verse 151 قُلْ تَعَالَوْا أَتْلُ مَا حَرَّمَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ أَلَّا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا ۖ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا ۖ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا أَوْلَادَكُم مِّنْ إِمْلَاقٍ ۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكُمْ وَإِيَّاهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ ۖ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُم بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ کہہ کہ ( لوگو ) آؤ میں تمہیں وہ چیزیں پڑھ کر سناؤں جو تمہارے پروردگار نے تم پر حرام کر دی ہیں ( ان کی نسبت اس نے اس طرح ارشاد فرمایا ہے ) کہ کسی چیز کو خدا کا شریک نہ بنانا اور ماں باپ ( سے بدسلوکی نہ کرنا بلکہ ) سلوک کرتے رہنا اور ناداری ( کے اندیشے ) سے اپنی اولاد کو قتل نہ کرنا کیونکہ تم کو اور ان کو ہم ہی رزق دیتے ہیں اور بےحیائی کے کام ظاہر ہوں یا پوشیدہ ان کے پاس نہ پھٹکنا اور کسی جان ( والے ) کو جس کے قتل کو خدا نے حرام کر دیا ہے قتل نہ کرنا مگر جائز طور پر ( یعنی جس کا شریعت حکم دے ) ان باتوں کا وہ تمہیں ارشاد فرماتا ہے تاکہ تم سمجھو Transliteration : Qul taAAalaw atlu ma harramarabbukum AAalaykum alla tushrikoo bihi shay-an wabilwalidayniihsanan wala taqtuloo awladakum minimlaqin nahnu narzuqukum wa-iyyahum walataqraboo alfawahisha ma thahara minhawama batana wala taqtuloo annafsaallatee harrama Allahu illa bilhaqqithalikum wassakum bihi laAAallakum taAAqiloon Translation : Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited you from: Join not anything in worship with Him; be good and dutiful to your parents; kill not your children because of poverty - We provide sustenance for you and for them; come not near to Al-Fawahish (shameful sins, illegal sexual intercourse, etc.) whether committed openly or secretly, and kill not anyone whom Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause (according to Islamic law). 61. Chapter 4 Surat An-Nisā' (The Women) - سورة النساء , verse 148 لَّا يُحِبُّ اللَّهُ الْجَهْرَ بِالسُّوءِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ إِلَّا مَن ظُلِمَ ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ سَمِيعًا عَلِيمًا خدا اس بات کو پسند نہیں کرتا کہ کوئی کسی کو علانیہ برا کہے مگر وہ جو مظلوم ہو۔ اور خدا ( سب کچھ ) سنتا ( اور ) جانتا ہے Transliteration : La yuhibbu Allahualjahra bissoo-i mina alqawli illa man thulimawakana Allahu sameeAAan AAaleema Translation : Allah does not like that the evil should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged. 62. Chapter 4 Surat An-Nisā' (The Women) - سورة النساء , verse 149 إِن تُبْدُوا خَيْرًا أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ أَوْ تَعْفُوا عَن سُوءٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا قَدِيرًا اگر تم لوگ بھلائی کھلم کھلا کرو گے یا چھپا کر یا برائی سے درگزر کرو گے تو خدا بھی معاف کرنے والا ( اور ) صاحب قدرت ہے Transliteration : In tubdoo khayran aw tukhfoohu aw taAAfooAAan soo-in fa-inna Allaha kana AAafuwwan qadeera Translation : Whether you (mankind) disclose (by good words of thanks) a good deed (done to you in the form of a favour by someone), or conceal it, or pardon an evil, verily, Allah is Ever Oft-Pardoning, All-Powerful. 63. Chapter 9 Surat At-Tawbah (The Repentance) - سورة التوبة , verse 79 الَّذِينَ يَلْمِزُونَ الْمُطَّوِّعِينَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي الصَّدَقَاتِ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ إِلَّا جُهْدَهُمْ فَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنْهُمْ ۙ سَخِرَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ جو ( ذی استطاعت ) مسلمان دل کھول کر خیرات کرتے ہیں اور جو ( بےچارے غریب صرف اتنا ہی کما سکتے ہیں جتنی مزدوری کرتے ( اور تھوڑی سی کمائی میں سے خرچ بھی کرتے ) ہیں ان پر جو ( منافق ) طعن کرتے ہیں اور ہنستے ہیں۔ خدا ان پر ہنستا ہے اور ان کے لیے تکلیف دینے والا عذاب ( تیار ) ہے Transliteration : Allatheena yalmizoona almuttawwiAAeenamina almu/mineena fee assadaqati wallatheenala yajidoona illa juhdahum fayaskharoona minhumsakhira Allahu minhum walahum AAathabun aleem Translation : Those who defame such of the believers who give charity (in Allah's Cause) voluntarily, and those who could not find to give charity (in Allah's Cause) except what is available to them, so they mock at them (believers), Allah will throw back their mockery on them, and they shall have a painful torment. 64. Chapter 49 Surat Al-Ĥujurāt (The Rooms) - سورة الحجرات , verse 6 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن جَاءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌ بِنَبَإٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوا أَن تُصِيبُوا قَوْمًا بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَادِمِي مومنو ! اگر کوئی بدکردار تمہارے پاس کوئی خبر لے کر آئے تو خوب تحقیق کرلیا کرو ( مبادا ) کہ کسی قوم کو نادانی سے نقصان پہنچا دو۔ پھر تم کو اپنے کئے پر نادم ہونا پڑے Transliteration : Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooin jaakum fasiqun binaba-in fatabayyanoo an tuseebooqawman bijahalatin fatusbihoo AAala mafaAAaltum nadimeen Translation : O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done. Life and Death – How and Why?

65. Chapter 49 Surat Al-Ĥujurāt (The Rooms) - سورة الحجرات , verse 7 وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ فِيكُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ۚ لَوْ يُطِيعُكُمْ فِي كَثِيرٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ حَبَّبَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْإِيمَانَ وَزَيَّنَهُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْكُفْرَ وَالْفُسُوقَ وَالْعِصْيَانَ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الرَّاشِدُونَ اور جان رکھو کہ تم میں خدا کے پیغمبرﷺ ہیں۔ اگر بہت سی باتوں میں وہ تمہارا کہا مان لیا کریں تو تم مشکل میں پڑ جاؤ لیکن خدا نے تم کو ایمان عزیز بنا دیا اور اس کو تمہارے دلوں میں سجا دیا اور کفر اور گناہ اور نافرمانی سے تم کو بیزار کردیا۔ یہی لوگ راہ ہدایت پر ہیں Transliteration : WaAAlamoo anna feekum rasoola Allahilaw yuteeAAukum fee katheerin mina al-amri laAAanittum walakinnaAllaha habbaba ilaykumu al-eemanawazayyanahu fee quloobikum wakarraha ilaykumu alkufra walfusooqawalAAisyana ola-ika humu arrashidoon Translation : And know that, among you there is the Messenger of Allah (SAW). If he were to obey you (i.e. follow your opinions and desires) in much of the matter, you would surely be in trouble, but Allah has endeared the Faith to you and has beautified it in your hearts, and has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience (to Allah and His Messenger SAW) hateful to you. These! They are the rightly guided ones, Life and Death – How and Why?

66. Chapter 49 Surat Al-Ĥujurāt (The Rooms) - سورة الحجرات , verse 8 فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَنِعْمَةً ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ ( یعنی ) خدا کے فضل اور احسان سے۔ اور خدا جاننے والا ( اور ) حکمت والا ہے Transliteration : Fadlan mina Allahi waniAAmatanwallahu AAaleemun hakeem Translation : (This is) a Grace from Allah and His Favour. 67. Chapter 49 Surat Al-Ĥujurāt (The Rooms) - سورة الحجرات , verse 11 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِّن قَوْمٍ عَسَىٰ أَن يَكُونُوا خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَاءٌ مِّن نِّسَاءٍ عَسَىٰ أَن يَكُنَّ خَيْرًا مِّنْهُنَّ ۖ وَلَا تَلْمِزُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ ۖ بِئْسَ الِاسْمُ الْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ الْإِيمَانِ ۚ وَمَن لَّمْ يَتُبْ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ مومنو ! کوئی قوم کسی قوم سے تمسخر نہ کرے ممکن ہے کہ وہ لوگ ان سے بہتر ہوں اور نہ عورتیں عورتوں سے ( تمسخر کریں ) ممکن ہے کہ وہ ان سے اچھی ہوں۔ اور اپنے ( مومن بھائی ) کو عیب نہ لگاؤ اور نہ ایک دوسرے کا برا نام رکھو۔ ایمان لانے کے بعد برا نام ( رکھنا ) گناہ ہے۔ اور جو توبہ نہ کریں وہ ظالم ہیں Transliteration : Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola yaskhar qawmun min qawmin AAasa an yakoonookhayran minhum wala nisaon min nisa-in AAasaan yakunna khayran minhunna wala talmizoo anfusakum walatanabazoo bil-alqabi bi/sa al-ismualfusooqu baAAda al-eemani waman lam yatub faola-ikahumu aththalimoon Translation : O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group, it may be that the latter are better than the former; nor let (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former, nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it, to insult one's brother after having Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother (a faithful believer) as: "O sinner", or "O wicked", etc.]. And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zalimun (wrong-doers, etc.). Life and Death – How and Why?

68. Chapter 49 Surat Al-Ĥujurāt (The Rooms) - سورة الحجرات , verse 12 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوا كَثِيرًا مِّنَ الظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ إِثْمٌ ۖ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا يَغْتَب بَّعْضُكُم بَعْضًا ۚ أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ أَخِيهِ مَيْتًا فَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَوَّابٌ رَّحِيمٌ اے اہل ایمان ! بہت گمان کرنے سے احتراز کرو کہ بعض گمان گناہ ہیں۔ اور ایک دوسرے کے حال کا تجسس نہ کیا کرو اور نہ کوئی کسی کی غیبت کرے۔ کیا تم میں سے کوئی اس بات کو پسند کرے گا کہ اپنے مرے ہوئے بھائی کا گوشت کھائے؟ اس سے تو تم ضرور نفرت کرو گے۔ ( تو غیبت نہ کرو ) اور خدا کا ڈر رکھو بےشک خدا توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان ہے Transliteration : Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooijtaniboo katheeran mina aththanni innabaAAda aththanni ithmun walatajassasoo wala yaghtab baAAdukum baAAdanayuhibbu ahadukum an ya/kula lahma akheehimaytan fakarihtumoohu wattaqoo Allaha inna Allahatawwabun raheem Translation : O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful. Life and Death – How and Why?

69. Chapter 20 Surat Ţāhā (Ta-Ha) - سورة طه , verse 69 وَأَلْقِ مَا فِي يَمِينِكَ تَلْقَفْ مَا صَنَعُوا ۖ إِنَّمَا صَنَعُوا كَيْدُ سَاحِرٍ ۖ وَلَا يُفْلِحُ السَّاحِرُ حَيْثُ أَتَىٰ اور جو چیز ( یعنی لاٹھی ) تمہارے داہنے ہاتھ میں ہے اسے ڈال دو کہ جو کچھ انہوں نے بنایا ہے اس کو نگل جائے گی۔ جو کچھ انہوں نے بنایا ہے ( یہ تو ) جادوگروں کے ہتھکنڈے ہیں اور جادوگر جہاں جائے فلاح نہیں پائے گا Transliteration : Waalqi ma fee yameenika talqaf masanaAAoo innama sanaAAoo kaydu sahirinwala yuflihu assahiru haythuata Translation : "And throw that which is in your right hand! It will swallow up that which they have made. That which they have made is only a magician's trick, and the magician will never be successful, no matter whatever amount (of skill) he may attain." 70. Chapter 5 Surat Al-Mā'idah (The Table Spread) - سورة المائدة , verse 90 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالْأَنصَابُ وَالْأَزْلَامُ رِجْسٌ مِّنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ اے ایمان والو ! شراب اور جوا اور بت اور پاسے ( یہ سب ) ناپاک کام اعمال شیطان سے ہیں سو ان سے بچتے رہنا تاکہ نجات پاؤ Transliteration : Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooinnama alkhamru walmaysiru wal-ansabuwal-azlamu rijsun min AAamali ashshaytanifajtaniboohu laAAallakum tuflihoon Translation : O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), gambling, Al-Ansab, and Al-Azlam (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaitan's (Satan) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful. Life and Death – How and Why?

71. Chapter 5 Surat Al-Mā'idah (The Table Spread) - سورة المائدة , verse 91 إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَن يُوقِعَ بَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاءَ فِي الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَعَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّنتَهُونَ شیطان تو یہ چاہتا ہے کہ شراب اور جوئے کے سبب تمہارے آپس میں دشمنی اور رنجش ڈلوا دے اور تمہیں خدا کی یاد سے اور نماز سے روک دے تو تم کو ( ان کاموں سے ) باز رہنا چاہیئے Transliteration : Innama yureedu ashshaytanuan yooqiAAa baynakumu alAAadawata walbaghdaafee alkhamri walmaysiri wayasuddakum AAan thikriAllahi waAAani assalati fahal antummuntahoon Translation : Shaitan (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from As-Salat (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain? Life and Death – How and Why?

72. Chapter 2 Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) - سورة البقرة , verse 219 يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ ۖ قُلْ فِيهِمَا إِثْمٌ كَبِيرٌ وَمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثْمُهُمَا أَكْبَرُ مِن نَّفْعِهِمَا ۗ وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَ قُلِ الْعَفْوَ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ ( اے پیغمبر ) لوگ تم سے شراب اور جوئے کا حکم دریافت کرتے ہیں۔ کہہ دو کہ ان میں نقصان بڑے ہیں اور لوگوں کے لئے کچھ فائدے بھی ہیں مگر ان کے نقصان فائدوں سے کہیں زیادہ ہیں اور یہ بھی تم سے پوچھتے ہیں کہ ( خدا کی راہ میں ) کون سا مال خرچ کریں۔ کہہ دو کہ جو ضرورت سے زیادہ ہو۔ اس طرح خدا تمہارے لئے اپنے احکام کھول کھول کر بیان فرماتا ہے تاکہ تم سوچو Transliteration : Yas-aloonaka AAani alkhamri walmaysiriqul feehima ithmun kabeerun wamanafiAAu linnasiwa-ithmuhuma akbaru min nafAAihima wayas-aloonaka mathayunfiqoona quli alAAafwa kathalika yubayyinu Allahulakumu al-ayati laAAallakum tatafakkaroon Translation : They ask you (O Muhammad SAW) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: "In them is a great sin, and (some) benefit for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they ought to spend. Say: "That which is beyond your needs." Chapter 17 Surat Al-'Isrā' (The Night Journey) - سورة الإسراء , verse 36 وَلَا تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۚ إِنَّ السَّمْعَ وَالْبَصَرَ وَالْفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُولَٰئِكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْئُولًا ( اور ( اے بندے ) جس چیز کا تجھے علم نہیں اس کے پیچھے نہ پڑ۔ کہ کان اور آنکھ اور دل ان سب ( جوارح ) سے ضرور باز پرس ہوگی Transliteration : Wala taqfu ma laysa laka bihiAAilmun inna assamAAa walbasara walfu-adakullu ola-ika kana AAanhu mas-oola Translation : And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not, etc.) that of which you have no knowledge (e.g. one's saying: "I have seen," while in fact he has not seen, or "I have heard," while he has not heard). Chapter 22 Surat Al-Ĥaj (The Pilgrimage) - سورة الحج , verse 3 وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُجَادِلُ فِي اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَيْطَانٍ مَّرِيدٍ ( اور بعض لوگ ایسے ہیں جو خدا ( کی شان ) میں علم ( ودانش ) کے بغیر جھگڑتے اور ہر شیطان سرکش کی پیروی کرتے ہیں Transliteration : Wamina annasi man yujadilufee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wayattabiAAu kulla shaytaninmareed Translation : And among mankind is he who disputes concerning Allah, without knowledge, and follows every rebellious (disobedient to Allah) Shaitan (devil) (devoid of each and every kind of good). Chapter 58 Surat Al-Mujādila (The Pleading Woman) - سورة المجادلة , verse 7 أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ مَا يَكُونُ مِن نَّجْوَىٰ ثَلَاثَةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ رَابِعُهُمْ وَلَا خَمْسَةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ سَادِسُهُمْ وَلَا أَدْنَىٰ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَا أَكْثَرَ إِلَّا هُوَ مَعَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كَانُوا ۖ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ ( کیا تم کو معلوم نہیں کہ جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے اور جو کچھ زمین میں ہے خدا کو سب معلوم ہے۔ ( کسی جگہ ) تین ( شخصوں ) کا ( مجمع اور ) کانوں میں صلاح ومشورہ نہیں ہوتا مگر وہ ان میں چوتھا ہوتا ہے اور نہ کہیں پانچ کا مگر وہ ان میں چھٹا ہوتا ہے اور نہ اس سے کم یا زیادہ مگر وہ ان کے ساتھ ہوتا ہے خواہ وہ کہیں ہوں۔ پھر جو جو کام یہ کرتے رہے ہیں قیامت کے دن وہ ( ایک ایک ) ان کو بتائے گا۔ بےشک خدا ہر چیز سے واقف ہے Transliteration : Alam tara anna Allaha yaAAlamu mafee assamawati wama fee al-ardima yakoonu min najwa thalathatin illahuwa rabiAAuhum wala khamsatin illa huwa sadisuhumwala adna min thalika wala aktharailla huwa maAAahum ayna ma kanoo thummayunabbi-ohum bima AAamiloo yawma alqiyamati innaAllaha bikulli shay-in AAaleem Translation : Have you not seen that Allah knows whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth? There is no Najwa (secret counsel) of three, but He is their fourth (with His Knowledge, while He Himself is over the Throne, over the seventh heaven), nor of five but He is their sixth (with His Knowledge), not of less than that or more, but He is with them (with His Knowledge) wheresoever they may be; and afterwards on the Day of Resurrection, He will inform them of what they did. Chapter 58 Surat Al-Mujādila (The Pleading Woman) - سورة المجادلة , verse 8 أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ نُهُوا عَنِ النَّجْوَىٰ ثُمَّ يَعُودُونَ لِمَا نُهُوا عَنْهُ وَيَتَنَاجَوْنَ بِالْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ الرَّسُولِ وَإِذَا جَاءُوكَ حَيَّوْكَ بِمَا لَمْ يُحَيِّكَ بِهِ اللَّهُ وَيَقُولُونَ فِي أَنفُسِهِمْ لَوْلَا يُعَذِّبُنَا اللَّهُ بِمَا نَقُولُ ۚ حَسْبُهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ يَصْلَوْنَهَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ ( کیا تم نے ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھا جن کو سرگوشیاں کرنے سے منع کیا گیا تھا۔ پھر جس ( کام ) سے منع کیا گیا تھا وہی پھر کرنے لگے اور یہ تو گناہ اور ظلم اور رسول ( خدا ) کی نافرمانی کی سرگوشیاں کرتے ہیں۔ اور جب تمہارے پاس آتے ہیں تو جس ( کلمے ) سے خدا نے تم کو دعا نہیں دی اس سے تمہیں دعا دیتے ہیں۔ اور اپنے دل میں کہتے ہیں کہ ( اگر یہ واقعی پیغمبر ہیں تو ) جو کچھ ہم کہتے ہیں خدا ہمیں اس کی سزا کیوں نہیں دیتا؟ ( اے پیغمبر ) ان کو دوزخ ( ہی کی سزا ) کافی ہے۔ یہ اسی میں داخل ہوں گے۔ اور وہ بری جگہ ہے Translation : Have you not seen those who were forbidden to hold secret counsels, and afterwards returned to that which they had been forbidden, and conspired together for sin and wrong doing and disobedience to the Messenger (Muhammad SAW ). And when they come to you, they greet you with a greeting wherewith Allah greets you not, and say within themselves: "Why should Allah punish us not for what we say?" Hell will be sufficient for them, they will burn therein, and worst indeed is that destination! Life and Death – How and Why?

Chapter 58 Surat Al-Mujādila (The Pleading Woman) - سورة المجادلة , verse 9 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا تَنَاجَيْتُمْ فَلَا تَتَنَاجَوْا بِالْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ الرَّسُولِ وَتَنَاجَوْا بِالْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ ( مومنو ! جب تم آپس میں سرگوشیاں کرنے لگو تو گناہ اور زیادتی اور پیغمبر کی نافرمانی کی باتیں نہ کرنا بلکہ نیکوکاری اور پرہیزگاری کی باتیں کرنا۔ اور خدا سے جس کے سامنے جمع کئے جاؤ گے ڈرتے رہنا Transliteration: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooitha tanajaytum fala tatanajaw bil-ithmiwalAAudwani wamaAAsiyati arrasooliwatanajaw bilbirri wattaqwa wattaqooAllaha allathee ilayhi tuhsharoon Translation : O you who believe! When you hold secret counsel, do it not for sin and wrong-doing, and disobedience towards the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) but do it for Al-Birr (righteousness) and Taqwa (virtues and piety); and fear Allah unto Whom you shall be gathered. Chapter 58 Surat Al-Mujādila (The Pleading Woman) - سورة المجادلة , verse 10 إِنَّمَا النَّجْوَىٰ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ لِيَحْزُنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَيْسَ بِضَارِّهِمْ شَيْئًا إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ ( کافروں کی ) سرگوشیاں تو شیطان ( کی حرکات ) سے ہیں ( جو ) اس لئے ( کی جاتی ہیں ) کہ مومن ( ان سے غمناک ہوں مگر خدا کے حکم کے سوا ان سے انہیں کچھ نقصان نہیں پہنچ سکتا۔ تو مومنو کو چاہیئے کہ خدا ہی پر بھروسہ رکھیں Transliteration: Innama annajwa mina ashshaytaniliyahzuna allatheena amanoo walaysa bidarrihimshay-an illa bi-ithni Allahi waAAalaAllahi falyatawakkali almu/minoon Translation : Secret counsels (conspiracies) are only from Shaitan (Satan), in order that he may cause grief to the believers. But he cannot harm them in the least, except as Allah permits, and in Allah let the believers put their trust. Life and Death – How and Why?

Chapter 4 Surat An-Nisā' (The Women) - سورة النساء , verse 112 وَمَن يَكْسِبْ خَطِيئَةً أَوْ إِثْمًا ثُمَّ يَرْمِ بِهِ بَرِيئًا فَقَدِ احْتَمَلَ بُهْتَانًا وَإِثْمًا مُّبِينًا ( اور جو شخص کوئی قصور یا گناہ تو خود کرے لیکن اس سے کسی بےگناہ کو مہتم کردے تو اس نے بہتان اور صریح گناہ کا بوجھ اپنے سر پر رکھا Transliteration: Waman yaksib khatee-atan aw ithmanthumma yarmi bihi baree-an faqadi ihtamala buhtananwa-ithman mubeena Translation : And whoever earns a fault or a sin and then throws it on to someone innocent, he has indeed burdened himself with falsehood and a manifest sin. Chapter 4 Surat An-Nisā' (The Women) - سورة النساء , verse 29 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَأْكُلُوا أَمْوَالَكُم بَيْنَكُم بِالْبَاطِلِ إِلَّا أَن تَكُونَ تِجَارَةً عَن تَرَاضٍ مِّنكُمْ ۚ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيمًا مومنو ! ایک دوسرے کا مال ناحق نہ کھاؤ ہاں اگر آپس کی رضامندی سے تجارت کا لین دین ہو ( اور اس سے مالی فائدہ حاصل ہو جائے تو وہ جائز ہے ) اور اپنے آپ کو ہلاک نہ کرو کچھ شک نہیں کہ خدا تم پر مہربان ہے Transliteration: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola ta/kuloo amwalakum baynakum bilbatiliilla an takoona tijaratan AAan taradinminkum wala taqtuloo anfusakum inna Allaha kanabikum raheema Translation : O you who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves unjustly except it be a trade amongst you, by mutual consent. And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allah is Most Merciful to you. 86. Chapter 4 Surat An-Nisā' (The Women) - سورة النساء , verse 30 وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ عُدْوَانًا وَظُلْمًا فَسَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِ نَارًا ۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرًا اور جو تعدی اور ظلم سے ایسا کرے گا ہم اس کو عنقریب جہنم میں داخل کریں گے اور یہ خدا کو آسان ہے Transliteration: Waman yafAAal thalika AAudwananwathulman fasawfa nusleehi naran wakanathalika AAala Allahi yaseera Translation : And whoever commits that through aggression and injustice, We shall cast him into the Fire, and that is easy for Allah. Chapter 4 Surat An-Nisā' (The Women) - سورة النساء , verse 58 إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَن تُؤَدُّوا الْأَمَانَاتِ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهَا وَإِذَا حَكَمْتُم بَيْنَ النَّاسِ أَن تَحْكُمُوا بِالْعَدْلِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ نِعِمَّا يَعِظُكُم بِهِ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا خدا تم کو حکم دیتا ہے کہ امانت والوں کی امانتیں ان کے حوالے کردیا کرو اور جب لوگوں میں فیصلہ کرنے لگو تو انصاف سے فیصلہ کیا کرو خدا تمہیں بہت خوب نصیحت کرتا ہے بےشک خدا سنتا اور دیکھتا ہے Transliteration: Inna Allaha ya/murukum an tu-addooal-amanati ila ahliha wa-itha hakamtumbayna annasi an tahkumoo bilAAadliinna Allaha niAAimma yaAAithukum bihiinna Allaha kana sameeAAan baseera Translation : Verily! Allah commands that you should render back the trusts to those, to whom they are due; and that when you judge between men, you judge with justice. Verily, how excellent is the teaching which He (Allah) gives you! Truly, Allah is Ever All-Hearer, All-Seer. Life and Death – How and Why?

Chapter 17 Surat Al-'Isrā' (The Night Journey) - سورة الإسراء , verse 26 وَآتِ ذَا الْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُ وَالْمِسْكِينَ وَابْنَ السَّبِيلِ وَلَا تُبَذِّرْ تَبْذِيرًا اور رشتہ داروں اور محتاجوں اور مسافروں کو ان کا حق ادا کرو۔ اور فضول خرچی سے مال نہ اُڑاؤ Transliteration: Waati tha alqurba haqqahuwalmiskeena wabna assabeeli walatubaththir tabtheera Translation : And give to the kindred his due and to the Miskin (poor) and to the wayfarer. Chapter 17 Surat Al-'Isrā' (The Night Journey) - سورة الإسراء , verse 27 إِنَّ الْمُبَذِّرِينَ كَانُوا إِخْوَانَ الشَّيَاطِينِ ۖ وَكَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ لِرَبِّهِ كَفُورًا کہ فضول خرچی کرنے والے تو شیطان کے بھائی ہیں۔ اور شیطان اپنے پروردگار ( کی نعمتوں ) کا کفر ان کرنے والا ( یعنی ناشکرا ) ہے Transliteration: Inna almubaththireena kanooikhwana ashshayateeni wakana ashshaytanulirabbihi kafoora Translation : Verily, spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayatin (devils), and the Shaitan (Devil - Satan) is ever ungrateful to his Lord. Chapter 17 Surat Al-'Isrā' (The Night Journey) - سورة الإسراء , verse 29 وَلَا تَجْعَلْ يَدَكَ مَغْلُولَةً إِلَىٰ عُنُقِكَ وَلَا تَبْسُطْهَا كُلَّ الْبَسْطِ فَتَقْعُدَ مَلُومًا مَّحْسُورًا اور اپنے ہاتھ کو نہ تو گردن سے بندھا ہوا ( یعنی بہت تنگ ) کرلو ( کہ کسی کچھ دو ہی نہیں ) اور نہ بالکل کھول ہی دو ( کہ سبھی دے ڈالو اور انجام یہ ہو ) کہ ملامت زدہ اور درماندہ ہو کر بیٹھ جاؤ Transliteration: Wala tajAAal yadaka maghloolatan ilaAAunuqika wala tabsutha kulla albastifataqAAuda malooman mahsoora Translation : And let not your hand be tied (like a miser) to your neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach (like a spendthrift), so that you become blameworthy and in severe poverty. Chapter 17 Surat Al-'Isrā' (The Night Journey) - سورة الإسراء , verse 35 وَأَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ إِذَا كِلْتُمْ وَزِنُوا بِالْقِسْطَاسِ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلًا اور جب ( کوئی چیز ) ناپ کر دینے لگو تو پیمانہ پورا بھرا کرو اور ( جب تول کر دو تو ) ترازو سیدھی رکھ کر تولا کرو۔ یہ بہت اچھی بات اور انجام کے لحاظ سے بھی بہت بہتر ہے Transliteration: Waawfoo alkayla itha kiltum wazinoobilqistasi almustaqeemi thalika khayrun waahsanuta/weela Translation : And give full measure when you measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight. Chapter 17 Surat Al-'Isrā' (The Night Journey) - سورة الإسراء , verse 30 إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِ خَبِيرًا بَصِيرًا بےشک تمہارا پروردگار جس کی روزی چاہتا ہے فراخ کردیتا ہے اور ( جس کی روزی چاہتا ہے ) تنگ کردیتا ہے وہ اپنے بندوں سے خبردار ہے اور ( ان کو ) دیکھ رہا ہے Transliteration: Inna rabbaka yabsutu arrizqaliman yashao wayaqdiru innahu kana biAAibadihikhabeeran baseera Translation : Truly, your Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills and straitens (for whom He wills). Chapter 2 Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) - سورة البقرة , verse 275 الَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ الرِّبَا لَا يَقُومُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَقُومُ الَّذِي يَتَخَبَّطُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنَ الْمَسِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّمَا الْبَيْعُ مِثْلُ الرِّبَا ۗ وَأَحَلَّ اللَّهُ الْبَيْعَ وَحَرَّمَ الرِّبَا ۚ فَمَن جَاءَهُ مَوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ فَانتَهَىٰ فَلَهُ مَا سَلَفَ وَأَمْرُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ۖ وَمَنْ عَادَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ جو لوگ سود کھاتے ہیں وہ ( قبروں سے ) اس طرح ( حواس باختہ ) اٹھیں گے جیسے کسی کو جن نے لپٹ کر دیوانہ بنا دیا ہو یہ اس لئے کہ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ سودا بیچنا بھی تو ( نفع کے لحاظ سے ) ویسا ہی ہے جیسے سود ( لینا ) حالانکہ سودے کو خدا نے حلال کیا ہے اور سود کو حرام۔ تو جس شخص کے پاس خدا کی نصیحت پہنچی اور وہ ( سود لینے سے ) باز آگیا تو جو پہلے ہوچکا وہ اس کا۔ اور ( قیامت میں ) اس کا معاملہ خدا کے سپرد اور جو پھر لینے لگا تو ایسے لوگ دوزخی ہیں کہ ہمیشہ دوزخ میں ( جلتے ) رہیں گے Translation : Those who eat Riba (usury) will not stand (on the Day of Resurrection) except like the standing of a person beaten by Shaitan (Satan) leading him to insanity. That is because they say: "Trading is only like Riba (usury)," whereas Allah has permitted trading and forbidden Riba (usury). So whosoever receives an admonition from his Lord and stops eating Riba (usury) shall not be punished for the past; his case is for Allah (to judge); but whoever returns [to Riba (usury)], such are the dwellers of the Fire - they will abide therein. Chapter 2 Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) - سورة البقرة , verse 277 إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے اور نماز پڑھتے اور زکوٰة دیتے رہے ان کو ان کے کاموں کا صلہ خدا کے ہاں ملے گا اور ( قیامت کے دن ) ان کو نہ کچھ خوف ہوا اور نہ وہ غمناک ہوں گے Transliteration: Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati waaqamoo assalatawaatawoo azzakata lahum ajruhum AAindarabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoon Translation : Truly those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat, they will have their reward with their Lord. Chapter 2 Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) - سورة البقرة , verse 278 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَذَرُوا مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الرِّبَا إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ مومنو ! خدا سے ڈرو اور اگر ایمان رکھتے ہو تو جتنا سود باقی رہ گیا ہے اس کو چھوڑ دو Transliteration: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooittaqoo Allaha watharoo ma baqiya mina arribain kuntum mu/mineen Translation : O you who believe! Chapter 2 Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) - سورة البقرة , verse 279 فَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلُوا فَأْذَنُوا بِحَرْبٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ۖ وَإِن تُبْتُمْ فَلَكُمْ رُءُوسُ أَمْوَالِكُمْ لَا تَظْلِمُونَ وَلَا تُظْلَمُونَ اگر ایسا نہ کرو گے تو خبردار ہوجاؤ ( کہ تم ) اللہ اوراس کے رسول سے جنگ کرنے کے لئے ( تیار ہوتے ہو ) اور اگر توبہ کرلو گے ( اور سود چھوڑ دو گے ) تو تم کو اپنی اصل رقم لینے کا حق ہے جس میں نہ اوروں کا نقصان اور نہ تمہارا نقصان Transliteration: Fa-in lam tafAAaloo fa/thanoo biharbinmina Allahi warasoolihi wa-in tubtum falakum ruoosu amwalikumla tathlimoona wala tuthlamoon Translation : And if you do not do it, then take a notice of war from Allah and His Messenger but if you repent, you shall have your capital sums. Deal not unjustly (by asking more than your capital sums), and you shall not be dealt with unjustly (by receiving less than your capital sums). Life and Death – How and Why?

Chapter 25 Surat Al-Furqān (The Criterian) - سورة الفرقان , verse 67 وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا أَنفَقُوا لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ قَوَامًا اور وہ جب خرچ کرتے ہیں تو نہ بےجا اُڑاتے ہیں اور نہ تنگی کو کام میں لاتے ہیں بلکہ اعتدال کے ساتھ۔ نہ ضرورت سے زیادہ نہ کم Transliteration: Wallatheena ithaanfaqoo lam yusrifoo walam yaqturoo wakana bayna thalikaqawama Translation : And those, who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but hold a medium (way) between those (extremes). Chapter 3 Surat 'Āli `Imrān (Family of Imran) - سورة آل عمران , verse 130 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَأْكُلُوا الرِّبَا أَضْعَافًا مُّضَاعَفَةً ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ اےایمان والو ! دگنا چوگنا سود نہ کھاؤ اور خدا سے ڈرو تاکہ نجات حاصل کرو Transliteration: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola ta/kuloo arriba adAAafanmudaAAafatan wattaqoo Allaha laAAallakumtuflihoon Translation : O you who believe! Chapter 12 Surat Yūsuf (Joseph) - سورة يوسف , verse 52 ذَٰلِكَ لِيَعْلَمَ أَنِّي لَمْ أَخُنْهُ بِالْغَيْبِ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي كَيْدَ الْخَائِنِينَ ( یوسف نے کہا کہ میں نے ) یہ بات اس لیے ( پوچھی ہے ) کہ عزیز کو یقین ہوجائے کہ میں نے اس کی پیٹھ پیچھے اس کی ( امانت میں خیانت نہیں کی ) اور خدا خیانت کرنے والوں کے مکروں کو روبراہ نہیں کرتا Transliteration: Thalika liyaAAlama annee lam akhunhubilghaybi waanna Allaha la yahdee kaydaalkha-ineen Translation : [Then Yusuf (Joseph) said: "I asked for this enquiry] in order that he (Al-'Aziz) may know that I betrayed him not in secret. Chapter 55 Surat Ar-Raĥmān (The Beneficent) - سورة الرحمن , verse 9 وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ ( اور انصاف کے ساتھ ٹھیک تولو۔ اور تول کم مت کرو Transliteration: Waaqeemoo alwazna bilqisti walatukhsiroo almeezan Translation : And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. Chapter 7 Surat Al-'A`rāf (The Heights) - سورة الأعراف , verse 85 وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا ۗ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ قَدْ جَاءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ فَأَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ وَالْمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَاحِهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ( اور مَدین کی طرف ان کے بھائی شعیب کو بھیجا۔ ( تو ) انہوں نے کہا کہ قوم ! خدا ہی کی عبادت کرو اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ تمہارے پاس تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے نشانی آچکی ہے تو تم ناپ تول پوری کیا کرو اور لوگوں کو چیزیں کم نہ دیا کرو۔ اور زمین میں اصلاح کے بعد خرابی نہ کرو۔ اگر تم صاحب ایمان ہو تو سمجھ لو کہ یہ بات تمہارے حق میں بہتر ہے Translation : And to (the people of) Madyan (Midian), (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. [La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)]." Verily, a clear proof (sign) from your Lord has come unto you; so give full measure and full weight and wrong not men in their things, and do not mischief on the earth after it has been set in order, that will be better for you, if you are believers. 106. Chapter 2 Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) - سورة البقرة , verse 198 لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَبْتَغُوا فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۚ فَإِذَا أَفَضْتُم مِّنْ عَرَفَاتٍ فَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ عِندَ الْمَشْعَرِ الْحَرَامِ ۖ وَاذْكُرُوهُ كَمَا هَدَاكُمْ وَإِن كُنتُم مِّن قَبْلِهِ لَمِنَ الضَّالِّينَ ( اس کا تمہیں کچھ گناہ نہیں کہ ( حج کے دنوں میں بذریعہ تجارت ) اپنے پروردگار سے روزی طلب کرو اور جب عرفات سے واپس ہونے لگو تو مشعر حرام ( یعنی مزدلفے ) میں خدا کا ذکر کرو اور اس طرح ذکر کرو جس طرح اس نے تم کو سکھایا۔ اور اس سے پیشتر تم لوگ ( ان طریقوں سے ) محض ناواقف تھے Translation : There is no sin on you if you seek the Bounty of your Lord (during pilgrimage by t
